Perkiomen Valley School District in PA Selects Synergy Education Platform

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -- Perkiomen Valley School District (PVSD) has selected the industry-leading Synergy(R) Education Platform by Edupoint(R) Educational Systems for its K-12 student information management needs. The district's Synergy solution will include Synergy Student Information System, Synergy Online Registration, and Synergy Special Education. PVSD serves over 5,500 students in the Philadelphia region.

With Synergy Education Platform, PVSD will get a comprehensive student data management ecosystem in which the SIS and all core student data management solutions talk to each other by design, sharing data in real time from a single database for a seamless user experience.

District leaders at PVSD became interested in Synergy after attending a demo at a neighboring school district. The SIS selection committee then evaluated Synergy against several other student information systems, involving as many as 60 participants from every stakeholder group. The committee selected Synergy from four finalists after a round of full-day demos.

Key considerations in Perkiomen Valley's selection of Synergy included the platform's overall flexibility, the ease of transition for special education, the robust suite of role-based mobile apps, and the partner relationship the district would have with Edupoint.

"From a technical perspective, a smooth implementation is critical, and the references we spoke to put my mind at ease about working with Edupoint," said Karthik Ganesh, Chief Information Officer at Perkiomen Valley. "Our special education team is pleased because Edupoint will be doing the heavy lifting on moving our documents over. Synergy will also help us improve our scheduling efficiency to recoup a significant amount of time for our scheduling staff, and we'll have the ability to provide real-time information to families through the parent portal."

"Perkiomen Valley School District can be expected to see many improvements with their migration to Synergy," said Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO of Edupoint, "from extensive Google integration in the gradebook to greater overall efficiency and ease of use. We are pleased to have PVSD come on board and look forward to continuing to serve additional districts in Pennsylvania."

Hillsborough County Public Schools, Florida, Selects Synergy Education Platform

TAMPA, Fla. -- Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) has selected the industry-leading Synergy(R) Education Platform by Edupoint(R) Educational Systems for its K-12 student information management needs. The district's Synergy solution will include Synergy Student Information System and Synergy Special Education in a cloud-hosted environment. HCPS serves approximately 220,000 students in the West Central Florida area and is the eighth largest district in the country.

"It was time to retire our district-developed mainframe-based system and replace it with a modern, expandable solution," said Rick Laneau, General Manager of Information Technology for Hillsborough. "Giving parents and students better access to their educational records from anywhere at any time was a priority, and we determined that Synergy was strong in that area as well as being based on modern technology standards. We liked the fact that we can use the system's Ed-Fi and OneRoster compliance to consolidate our interfaces with third parties. Edupoint has large district experience in 20 other states, so we felt that the company would be capable of meeting our particular needs as a large Florida district."

In seeking a new system, Hillsborough County conducted a thorough evaluation process that lasted over a year. After verifying the need to replace the mainframe, the district put out a request for information to see what commercial products were available. Half a dozen vendors responded and gave onsite presentations to a committee of more than 50 stakeholders. The evaluation team built a list of district requirements based on those presentations, and HCPS issued a request for proposal. After evaluating submissions from six vendors over six months, the district selected Synergy Education Platform as the most feature-rich and cost-effective solution.

"With Synergy Education Platform, Hillsborough County Public Schools is getting a future-ready student data management solution that can not only expand and evolve as the district's needs change over time, but is also designed to maximize parent and student access and engagement," said Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO at Edupoint. "We are delighted to be serving the HCPS community and helping the district support families through the K-12 journey."

Bethel School District in Washington Selects Synergy Student Information System

SPANAWAY, Wash. -- Bethel School District (BSD) has selected the industry-leading Synergy(R) Student Information System (SIS) by Edupoint(R) Educational Systems for its K-12 student data management needs. The district's Synergy solution will include Synergy Online Registration and cloud hosting to serve over 19,000 K-12 students in the Seattle metropolitan area.

Decision-makers at Bethel began considering new data management options in response to an aging SIS and changes taking place with their existing support provider. After narrowing the field to Synergy SIS and one other product, the evaluation team spent six months learning about each product's capabilities, ensuring that every role and department in the district had an opportunity to provide feedback.

"We were on an explorer route, looking to discover what a new SIS could bring to our district and what it could support," said Michael Christianson, Chief Technology Officer at BSD. "We knew there were things we didn't even think about doing because we didn't know what to ask for. In the end we chose Synergy because we believed it would have the biggest impact on our staff in schools and on students. We especially liked the mature communication tools for involving parents and the mobile apps that enable principals, security, and other staff to manage anything they want to without having to be at a desk. We're an Apple district, so the fact that there are native iOS apps was a plus."

The evaluation team found Synergy to be teacher-focused without a lot of setup. Teachers have quick access to reports in the gradebook, and the flexibility in standards-based grading will allow different teachers to use different sets of standards. Secondary schools can stay with traditional grading now and move to standards-based grading later if needed.

"Bethel School District approached Edupoint with an open mind and allowed us to show them what student data management can be," said Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO at Edupoint. "We are thrilled to be partnering with Bethel in empowering their staff and helping their students achieve."

Charles County Public Schools Selects New Synergy Analytics Module by Edupoint

LA PLATA, Md. -- Edupoint(R) Educational Systems, creator of the industry-leading Synergy(R) Education Platform for K-12 student information and learning management, has been selected by Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) to implement the company's new Synergy Analytics solution, currently available to alpha adopters. CCPS serves over 26,000 students across 36 campuses in Maryland.

The district is currently implementing Synergy Student Information System (SIS), Master Schedule Builder, the TeacherVUE(R) Portal With Gradebook, Synergy Online Registration, and the ParentVUE(R) and StudentVUE(R) portals for the 2017-18 school year.

Synergy Analytics is a comprehensive K-12 analytics solution for improving student performance and district administration by bringing all of a district's data together in one place and transforming that data into interactive visual dashboards that are easy to understand and interpret. Role-based views provide all stakeholders, from classroom teacher to superintendent, with the up-to-date information they need to make effective day-to-day decisions - both instructional and operational.

Synergy Analytics can help educators pinpoint student learning needs, measure the effectiveness and ROI of programs and resources, and compare Synergy data side-by-side with non-Synergy data. The solution features an Early Warning System that automatically identifies at-risk students so teachers can take action right away to help them get back on track.

"We've been doing analysis of data and testing for many years with a homegrown system," said Pete Cevenini, Chief of Instructional Technology for CCPS, "and as we move to a modern student information system with Synergy, it makes sense to look at how we're going to ensure that our solution for data analysis is a good fit. We looked at Synergy Analytics at the latest Synergy Users Conference in Anaheim where it was presented and decided: this is the answer.

"With our existing analytics system, it can be a long, drawn-out process for a principal to look at discipline rates for different sub-groups in order to better work with those sub-groups to improve discipline. With Synergy Analytics, our hope is that a principal can look at that in a dashboard format and make real time decisions for their school."

"Synergy Analytics is a powerful tool for Synergy partner districts that brings all their data together in one place and helps educators understand and harness that data to provide maximum benefit to students," said Bob Weathers, Founder & CEO of Edupoint. "We are pleased that Charles County has chosen Synergy Analytics and confident that it will dramatically improve the district's ability to gain meaningful, actionable insights from their data."
