Capital Powersports Earns Council of Excellence Award 2020

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Capital Powersports, a Honda dealership in Wake Forest has earned the Council of Excellence award in 2020. Capital Powersports has won this award for the 6th year in a row.

"It's all about how we really team up with Honda in our finance services," said Matt Duffy, Finance Manager. "Everybody wants a cool, reliable Honda Motorcycle, Side by Side, or ATV. But can they get it? Well, that's where our financial team always helps go to that next level, and we're being recognized for that."

The Council of Excellence is awarded to the top 15% of Honda Dealerships in the nation.

"Our success comes from our customers. We are so thankful for our loyal customers and strong connections with the community. Honda makes the vehicles, Capital Powersports makes the difference! When you buy a vehicle from us, you become part of the Capital family. This award means a lot to our team as it recognizes the continued work we put in to be the best of the best," said Kevin R Dunn, General Manager of Capital Powersports.

"This is the first time in my long time in the powersports industry, that the manufacturers are completely cleaned out of inventory. Never before has that happened. Most inventory has been pre-sold before it hits the floor, so logistical issues caused by Covid and making sure our team stayed healthy, which overall they did, was critical as we rallied through and set sales records along the way," said Dunn.

Despite these challenges, they continued to provide an excellent customer experience which their hundreds of 5-Star google reviews attest too.

Capital Powersports, a Honda Yamaha franchised dealer, proudly serves customers in Wake/Durham and surrounding counties. If you are looking to purchase a vehicle, you can head to their showroom or give them a call at (919) 719-0700. Or you can visit their website at: https://www.capitalpowersports.com/

Brazilian Flat Track League organizes online race for 2020

SOROCABA, SP, Brazil -- It's not a secret that Covid-19 had 2020 pretty much canceled all over, affecting some of the major events in the USA and abroad, but has also brought people together and fired up new ways for connecting and exchanging ideas, says the Brazilian Flat Track League.

In Brazil, the two biggest custom motorcycle shows - the BMS (Brasil Motorcycle Show) and the Lucky Friends Rodeo - had to be canceled, and with it, the races for the recently created Brazilian Flat Track League. Or, so we thought.

In an effort to not let the sport lose momentum, the Brazilian Flat Track League, the organizers from BMS, and Lucky Friends Rodeo got together to keep the competition going and fire up the teams and racers with an online event that promises to bring the excitement of the race to the audience's screens: the "On Track."

On November 1, 2020, at 1 p.m. (ET/EST), flat track fans worldwide will be able to tune in online and watch "On Track," the first Brazilian flat track race event to be offered online. Viewers will get a taste of how the sport is creating roots among racers and motorcycle enthusiasts in Brazil.

To broadcast the event, the Brazilian FT League will use the platform http://netshow.me/.

Anybody can sign up to watch the race for free, but numbers are limited, so the organizers recommend the public to sign up as soon as possible using the link https://videos.netshow.me/t/rNl0-BRe9ls/form (there is an English option for singing up at the bottom of the page).

"Everything changed. People are finding new ways to work, to support their favorite restaurants and bars, to be together in general. So why not bring the adrenaline of flat track racing right to the safety of their homes?" says Cezinha Mocelin, founder of BMS Motorcycle. "With an online event, not only are we still making sure the sport keeps growing in Brazil, but we are also guaranteeing the safety of the fans, the racers, and all the team members."

The "On Track" organizers are following all WHO (World Health Organization) recommendations for the participants of the race: health check booths and Covid-19 tests for racers, team members, and production crew, and lots of masks. The race will happen in Sorocaba, SP - Brazil.

Flat Track in Brazil

Flat track races are relatively new in Brazil. The category started to gain popular attention in 2016, at the Lucky Friends Rodeo event, and then with the BMS Motorcycle. With more of a roots appeal and an underground vibe, it quickly gathered momentum among the motorcycle community and the custom culture fans.

In 2019, it became an official race class in the country with the creation of the Brazilian Flat Track League and its first season of official competitions. The League has not only pushed the popularity further, with more media coverage, sponsors, sanctioned events but also gave flat track racing legitimacy in Brazil.

By the beginning of 2020, flat track season in Brazil was shaping up to be the greatest yet, starting in March when a group of nine racers and 12 people from Brazil came to the US for the weekend of FlatOutFriday and Mama Tried, in Milwaukee - Wisconsin.

"Even though the event didn't happen as expected, the time our group had in Milwaukee was crucial for Brazilian flat track. It allowed us to connect even more with other teams and with industry players. We did the best we could under the circumstances at the time, and in the end, we came back to Brazil with a lot accomplished," says Chrys Miranda, Brazilian racer and one of the founding members of the Brazilian Flat Track League.

One of the most significant announcements once "OnTrack" was confirmed, was the addition of the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 Flat Track class to the race; besides the traditional H-D Sportster and the H-D Antique hardtail classes.

BMS Motorcycle and Lucky Friends Rodeo

The collaboration between BMS and Lucky Friends Rodeo isn't new. Combining lifestyle, custom culture, attractions like the only Wall of Death in South America, music, art, bike building exhibits, and, of course, races, both events bring together over 20 thousand fans.

"Nothing better than combining our forces to bring to our public and to the fans of Flat Track a new experience. We are preparing a great event, so the audience will be able to feel all the adrenaline from the race straight from their homes", said Flavio Sieber, founder of Lucky Friends Rodeo.

Evans Waterless Coolant Demonstrates a Clear Advantage in the Indian FTR750 Scout Flat Track Motorcycles

SUFFIELD, Conn. -- Evans Cooling Systems, manufacturer of the only waterless engine coolant, today announced that every Indian Scout FTR750 produced since 2017 has been factory filled with its patented waterless coolant, because of its proven ability to perform under extreme conditions without boil-over or overheating issues. With a boiling point of 375 degrees Fahrenheit, over 150 degrees higher than traditional water-based antifreeze, Evans gives racers greater capacity to handle the high temperatures of performance racing without fear of hot spots, high pressure, or losing coolant.

The 2017 and 2018 AMA Grand National Champion Jared Mees and 2019 Champion Briar Bauman both use Evans in their Indians to stay ahead of the competition. In the brutal Las Vegas heat, Travis Pastrana used Evans in his Indian Scouts for his record setting jumps broadcasted live on the History Channel.

"Evans waterless coolant gives us a huge racing advantage, as it performs well past the failure point of water-based coolants," said Dean Young, Indian Motorcycle Flat Track Race Team Manager. "We never worry about overheating and won't use anything else."

Off the track, the FTR750s in museums and collections are protected from corrosion, electrolysis, and even freeze-burst damage. "In addition to powersports equipment, Evans waterless coolants are used by car collectors and museums around the world to protect vehicles from the effects of water," added Mike Tourville, Sales and Marketing Director at Evans.

Brazilians want to make an impact during FlatOutFriday

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- It was only six years ago when the first official Flat Track competition took place in Brazil, with only ten to fifteen riders. Now, there are over fourteen teams around the country, and the Brazilian Flat Track League will have nine riders racing during FlatOutFriday (FOF) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, March 13. The group is looking forward to making a good impression during FOF 2020.

Flat track racing hit the country following the North American flat track tradition, and using the American culture as reference. Mostly running H-D Sportsters.

Racer Chrys Miranda was the first Brazilian ever invited to FlatOutFriday, back in 2019. His experience and networking paved the way for the group's record participation at this year's event. The team will also have the first Brazilian woman to race in international flat competition.

"This is an important moment for the sport in Brazil, and to be part of an event as big as FlatOutFriday brings visibility to our efforts, and our racers. It also helps to spread the word in our country, the sport becomes better known, and, consequently, more people will become interested," says Miranda. "With that, not only are we are keeping the tradition, but bringing more people to the race and, consequently, new athletes and collaborations."

Miranda, who has been involved with the motorcycle culture in Brazil and the United States for decades, is one of the newly formed Brazilian Flat Track League founders. The League's vision is to develop and foster the sport in Brazil, by introducing regulations, classes, and an official circuit calendar.

Events like "Lucky Friends Rodeo" and "BMS Motorcycle" already host some of the biggest Flat Track races in Brazil. In conjunction with showcasing builders, shops, and artists, both events are good examples of how the culture is growing in the country.

"We want to keep the tradition rolling," says Flávio Luz, from Lucky Friends Rodeo who is another one of the League's founders. "By introducing norms and new classes to the races in Brazil, we want to open opportunities to a broader group of people. It will not only help disseminate the sport but will bring attention to the professionals and the technology involved in all of the aspects of this race."

The Brazilian FT League also has Cezinha Mocelin, founder of BMS Motorcycle, and Marcelo Creck, founder of Lucky Friends Rodeo, in its board.

Jeremy Prach, founder of FlatOutFriday and Mama Tried, feels that having the Brazilian racers at the events in 2020 is a big deal. "Who've thought that this culture that we have has touched people so far away. For that, I am most proud", said Jeremy.

Motorcycle in Brazil

Data from 2018, shows that Brazil holds the largest South American motorcycle fleet, and it's the 8th country in the world, with a fleet of over 26 million registered bikes and a market share in constant growth.
