CleverFiles Becomes the First Company to Offer Software Licenses as NFTs

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs for short, have already enabled many innovative use cases, from digital collectibles to private membership experiences. Today, CleverFiles, a software company based in Alexandria, VA, announced its collection of 100 full-featured transferable lifetime licenses for its world-famous data recovery software, Disk Drill, sold as NFTs on OpenSea.

CleverFiles is the first software developer in the world to explore this pioneering NFT use case, which could revolutionize how software licenses are distributed, stored, and authenticated. The collection, called Disk Drill - Essential Data Recovery, is available for purchase on OpenSea, the first and largest digital marketplace for crypto collectibles and NFTs.

Each of the 100 full-featured lifetime licenses costs the equivalent of $79 in USD Coin, a digital stablecoin that is pegged to the United States dollar to maintain a stable value. In comparison, a standard Disk Drill PRO license costs $89, while the lifetime one is $118, making the NFT licenses more than 30% cheaper. What's more, all NFT licenses can be used to unlock both the Mac and Windows version of Disk Drill.

Besides being more affordable, NFT licenses for Disk Drill offer several attractive benefits thanks to the underlying blockchain technology:

* They can be easily resold or transferred as unique gifts.

* Only a cryptocurrency wallet address is required to purchase a license.

* Each license comes with a unique piece of NFT art that provides additional value as an attractive digital collectible.

* To maintain proper price and gas estimates, the collection exists and is sold on Polygon.

* There are more than 10 traits in the Disk Drill's NFT collection.

Despite taking advantage of some of the most innovative technologies in the world, the NFT licenses are just as easy to use as regular ones, requiring no technical knowledge besides the ability to maintain a cryptocurrency wallet.

To see the entire collection of 100 full-featured transferable lifetime NFT licenses for Disk Drill PRO, visit this OpenSea collection.

About NFTs

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are units of data stored on a blockchain, a decentralized database that makes it possible for transactions to be organized without a central authority. NFTs are not mutually interchangeable, which makes it possible for them to uniquely identify digital files such as photos, videos, audio, or text.

About CleverFiles

CleverFiles is a US-based software development company specializing in data recovery solutions. Its flagship data recovery application, Disk Drill, has been available since 2010, helping thousands of Windows and Mac users achieve professional results when recovering lost data, all while being exceptionally easy to use and costing a small fraction of what professional data recovery centers charge for their services. Brilliant Chess Game Finale by World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen Has Been Added to ‘Chess Board Rapture’ NFT Collection

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- A Magnus Carlsen chess brilliancy that wrapped up his successful 2016 World Chess Championship match defense has been minted by Citrusw00d Productions on the OpenSea non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace.

The latest addition to the Chess Board Rapture NFT collection depicts the concluding phase of Carlsen's final playoff game win over challenger Sergei Karjakin five years ago - culminating with a shocking queen sacrifice that has been called the most dramatic final move of any World Chess Championship since the institution originated some 135 years ago.

The 94-seconds-long film can be viewed at:

https://opensea.io/assets/0x495f947276749ce646f68ac8c248420045cb7b5e/63367472966475522338762630114326136861224857079812512247593168992986552336388

Like previous entries in the collection, the featured move sequence is rendered by means of sophisticated videographic technology and is accompanied by text and graphic elements that evoke the time and place where the game occurred, and by branded music synchronized to reinforce the impact of the viewing experience. Each of these practices is unique -- making Chess Board Rapture a pathbreaking project in the nascent chess NFT universe.

"Everything in this film and in the two previous ones is 100% comprehensible to any viewer who knows nothing more than the rules of play," says Coordie64, the chess playing visual artist behind the Chess Board Rapture project. "The on-board action is explained without use of chess notation or special terminology, but in under 100 everyday words that illuminate both the game's aesthetic beauty and appealing tidbits about its history."

Norwegian Magnus Carlsen, who will defend his title again this month in a match against Russian challenger Ian Nepomniachtchi in Dubai that begins November 24, is viewed by many as the greatest chess player ever. The 2016 championship match took place in New York City some three years after he first wrested the world title from Vishy Anand.

Although neither contestant in the latest Chess Board Rapture NFT game was American, the 2016 match was the first one-on-one battle for the world chess title held in America since 1995, and only the third since 1907. Extending this collection's tradition of designing displays that bridge chess culture with the wider world, the text page colors and typefaces that appear in the latest NFT were associated with the most visible and consequential non-chess event that coincided with the Carlsen-Karjakin chess match.

The next item slated to join the collection later in November will also extend a Chess Board Rapture tradition of honoring women's contributions to high-level chess past and present. It will feature a brilliancy by Vera Menchik, the first Women's World Chess Champion. Menchik competed against most of the world's top male players while holding the women's championship title from 1927 until 1944 when she and her family died in a German bombing raid on London.

Each Chess Board Rapture film presents a short sequence of moves that decided a historically important game, followed by a text vignette describing the context and the players. Designed for the general public and art collectors, the content contains no chess notation. Each NFT will be produced in a pre-set number of editions that carry a unique digital certificate of authenticity recorded on the Ethereum blockchain.

The collection is housed at https://opensea.io/collection/chess-board-rapture.

The project is managed by Citrusw00d Productions, a start-up enterprise that is working with members of the chess community to develop curated experiences meant to deepen public appreciation of the aesthetic beauty and historic traditions of the Royal Game.

Unlike other e-sports, chess is widely recognized as an art form as well as a competitive struggle. It is not uncommon for chess tournaments to award "brilliancy prizes" for exceptional creativity at the board. Frank Marshall, an American champion of the early 20th century, once made a move of such beauty that spectators reportedly showered him with gold coins. Marcel Duchamp, a professional-level chess player and a world-class artist, famously declared that "all chess players are artists."

‘Chess Board Rapture’ NFT Collection Presents Digital Art Inspired by The Game of Chess

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Art collectors and chess lovers will soon have a chance to own high-quality depictions of historically important chess battles in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) issued through Citrusw00d Productions. Citrusw00d has minted an initial pair of multimedia chess films on the OpenSea NFT marketplace that will list for sale on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021.

Each approximately two-minute-long film presents in striking visual detail a short sequence of moves that decided a historically important game, followed by a text vignette describing the context and the players. Designed for the general public and art collectors, the content contains no chess notation.

Each NFT will be produced in a pre-set number of editions, each carrying a unique digital certificate of authenticity recorded on the Ethereum blockchain. The films appear within an OpenSea collection named "Chess Board Rapture," viewable at https://opensea.io/collection/chess-board-rapture.

Coming additions to the collection will build on the theme of honoring chess history by showcasing critical moves that decided important games of the distant and recent past.

The project is managed by Citrusw00d Productions, a start-up enterprise that is working with members of the chess community to develop curated experiences meant to deepen public appreciation of the aesthetic beauty and historic traditions of the Royal Game.

Chess games, moves, and players occupy a growing niche within the emerging digital art market. A further impetus for creation and trading of chess-inspired NFTs will arrive later in November when the first World Chess Championship match in three years gets under way in Dubai. NBC will cover the match for an hour each day on its specialized sports TV network, NBCSN.

Chess itself is enjoying an explosion in both participation and viewership, vaulting into the ranks of the world's fastest-growing e-sports. The top playing site, Chess.com, hosts several million chess games daily. It claimed 74 million members as of October, up 40% year-to-date and up 150% since January 2020. A 2-week amateur chess tournament among gaming stars and celebrities this February drew 7.5 million viewers; a September sequel was sponsored by Coinbase, the cryptocurrency giant.

"This surging visibility has spawned a proliferation of chess brand names whose market influence extends far beyond the chess world," says Coordie64, the chess playing visual artist behind the Chess Board Rapture NFT concept. "Nothing similar ever happened before - not even during the 1970s Bobby Fischer chess boom."

Mastercard recently signed World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen as a global brand ambassador -- part of a select group that includes Lionel Messi and Naomi Osaka. Carlsen was the world's highest-earning e-sports professional in 2020, while the Netflix chess drama The Queen's Gambit was the year's third most-watched TV series. Several e-sports organizations have ongoing sponsorship contracts with professional and amateur chess players whose Twitch streams have hundreds of thousands of followers each.
