New Fictional Work Draws from True Stories to Showcase How One Woman Escaped an Abusive Narcissist

WARWICK, R.I. -- "Pain Behind Broken Vases" (ISBN: 978-1952521331) by Amilia Powers is the result of eight true stories of relational manipulation, control and abuse. Powers has combined stories from several women's real-life experiences into the voice of one. Through a page-turning series of events, the main character, named after the author (Amilia), demonstrates how she manages to flee a dangerous and narcissistic relationship while working to re-create a life of her own.

In "Pain Behind Broken Vases," Amilia, a widow who's been grieving a love for several years, is ready to open her heart again. She's drawn to a seemingly charming man who she feels will help her heart to heal. What she finds is completely the opposite. She's entered into a world of deceit, pain and torment. While she tries to hold onto those first early days in the relationship when things were peaches and cream, she slowly realizes she has to escape the clutches of this abusive man with a hidden agenda.

Each chapter creates stunning tension and builds to a final conclusion that will leave the reader breathless, yet somehow wanting more. The book resembles a thriller and most will find it difficult to put down.

"Pain Behind Broken Vases" was mostly written to inspire women who are in abusive relationships or who have experienced domestic violence and/or emotional abuse to get out while they still can. It showcases how belief in oneself and personal motivation and strength can save a life - their own.

"There are no regrets necessary in life, only opportunities to learn from mistakes that are the result of wrong choices," Powers says. "This philosophy is the foundation of all my messages and I hope helps people to make better choices."

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Silk Title Co., the leading provider of digitally-driven mortgage closing services, announced it achieved record growth in 2019, enabling the firm to deliver on its "service at scale" promise to its institutional bank and independent mortgage lender clients nationwide.

Throughout the year, Silk Title Co. tripled its client base and maintained a zero percent client attrition rate, enabling it to achieve several successive record months. The firm experienced a 582% increase in revenue over 2018, requiring the addition of just 13 employees to its staff due to its strategic infrastructure investments.

"'Service at Scale' is a motto we take seriously, and to that end we have invested considerable resources in developing a business model that maximizes our people, processes and technology to deliver virtually flawless title, settlement and closing services significantly faster and cheaper than the competition," said Silk Title Co. President and CEO Marc Trachtenberg. "Our organization is fully committed to executing mortgage closings as digitally as possible, and our like-minded mortgage lending clients have reaped the benefits of this commitment through reduced costs, faster closing times and an overall better experience for their borrowers and real estate agent partners."

"Our industry assumes that technology is a panacea to the operational problems in loan manufacturing and closing. At Silk Title we've observed that injecting innovative technology into a fundamentally broken process is far from the cure-all everyone assumes," Trachtenberg explained. "That's why we crafted our proprietary process first and then built out our customized technology environment to support it. As a result, we've cultivated a tech-driven, process-oriented client base that recognizes the value of a centralized operating environment and is committed to collaborating with Silk to deliver a seamless closing experience to their borrowers."

Westerly Becomes First Municipality in Rhode Island to Adopt E-recording

PROVO, Utah -- Simplifile, a leading provider of real estate document collaboration and recording technologies for lenders, settlement agents, and counties, today announced that the Town of Westerly has joined Simplifile's e-recording network following the July 1 passage of a law authorizing e-recording statewide in Rhode Island.

"This is a terrific development for Rhode Island settlement agents and municipal recorders, who have long expressed an interest in modernizing their recording processes," said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. "We're ready to help additional municipalities get up and running - a process that usually takes only days - so they can take advantage of e-recording's significant time and cost savings."

Rhode Island joins 47 other U.S. states that have authorized e-recording of deeds, mortgages, and other documents to enable faster and more cost-effective land record transactions. Only Kentucky and Vermont have yet to begin e-recording.

Simplifile's e-recording service is available in 54% of all U.S. counties. Through Simplifile, settlement agents can scan and submit land records directly to any of the 1,965 participating county recording offices. In just minutes, the county recorder can review, stamp, record and return documents to the settlement agent electronically. In addition, recording fees and associated payments can be processed directly through Simplifile's secure service, eliminating payment errors and check-writing expenses.
