Edupoint Selects Gwinnett County Public Schools for 7th Annual Partner for Life Award

MESA, Ariz. -- Edupoint® Educational Systems, creator of the industry-leading Synergy® Education Platform for K-12 student information and learning management, is pleased to announce that Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) has been selected as the recipient of the company's seventh annual Partner for Life Award. Edupoint Founder and CEO Bob Weathers presented the award to Debbie Durrence, Ed.D., Executive Director for GCPS's Department of Data Governance, at the 2022 Synergy Connect Users Conference last month at the Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee.

Gwinnett County Public Schools is one of the largest school districts in the country, serving a diverse population of approximately 181,000 students across 144 schools in 20 geographic "clusters." The district has nearly doubled in size since 2010, while retaining its collaborative, student-centered culture through the prioritization of teachers and staff support for teachers.

The relationship between Edupoint and GCPS has been one of mutual trust and partnership from the beginning. Gwinnett licensed the full suite of Synergy Education Platform modules in 2014, becoming the first Edupoint client to launch the Synergy Online Registration module before going live with Synergy Student Information System. The district was also an early adopter of Synergy MTSS and the first in Georgia to use Synergy Special Education.

"As we've been able to work with different Edupoint staff and engage in collaborative partnerships around projects, we've become not just a vendor and a school district, but true partners in every sense of the word," said Durrence. "We know that we can come to the table to solution together what will best meet the needs of our students, staff, and families."

"From the start, we have had a unique relationship with Gwinnett County Public Schools," said Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO at Edupoint. "Since the very beginning with the rollout of Synergy Online Registration they have always been interested in maximizing the use of technology to improve processes and better serve their constituents. Working closely together, we have developed a strong mutual trust and respect for each other, and this has helped lay the foundation for the steadfast partnership we have today. I am pleased to recognize Gwinnett County Public Schools as this year's Partner for Life Award recipient."

Edupoint has awarded $10,000 to Gwinnett County Public Schools to be granted as a student scholarship.

Derry Township School District in Pennsylvania Selects Synergy Education Platform

HERSHEY, Pa. -- Derry Township School District (DTSD) has selected the industry-leading Synergy® Education Platform by Edupoint® Educational Systems for its K-12 student information and learning management needs. The district's cloud-hosted Synergy solution will include Synergy Student Information System (SIS), Synergy MTSS, Synergy Assessment, and Synergy Special Education. Derry Township, an award-winning school district, serves approximately 3,500 students across five schools in South Central Pennsylvania.

Synergy Education Platform is a comprehensive student data management ecosystem that will help DTSD streamline processes and boost communication and collaboration across all sites while providing the real-time performance data needed to improve learning outcomes for students.

DTSD leadership launched a Request for Proposal Process (RFP) to select a new student data management solution when the district's previous SIS began to lag significantly behind technology trends. After evaluating four solutions against an extensive list of requirements, performing software demonstrations, and checking references, the evaluation team decided unanimously in favor of Synergy.

"The mobile apps were a huge sell," said David Sweigert, Director of Infrastructure Technology at Derry Township. "Parents and students are our customers, and now we'll be able to give them a reliable way to look at grades, assignments, absences, the calendar, and all the things they want to see. The available integrations are also really nice, and the reporting tool is much more intuitive than what we've had. Getting a favorable review from a nearby regional technology leader, School District of Lancaster, helped tip the scales as well, because they have always been ahead of the curve with their student information system, and we knew they had done their homework."

"By selecting Synergy Education Platform, Derry Township School District is getting not only a powerful and flexible student data management solution that will grow with their needs, but also, in Edupoint, a partner with a track record of continuous innovation," said Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO at Edupoint. "We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with DTSD, meeting their real-world needs as we evolve and adapt together to new trends in education and technology."

Edupoint Enters Alaska with the Matanuska-Susitna School District’s Selection of Synergy Education Platform

PALMER, Alaska -- Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District (MSBSD) selected Edupoint(R) Educational Systems to implement the district's industry-leading Synergy(R) Education Platform. The district's Synergy solution will include the full suite of Synergy modules - Synergy Student Information System, Synergy Learning Management System with RTI/MTSS and Assessment, Synergy Special Education, and Synergy Analytics. MSBSD is the second-largest school district in Alaska, serving approximately 19,000 students across 47 schools near Anchorage.

"Our vision was to acquire a new SIS that was modern and responsive, would evolve with technology changes and the changing needs of K-12 education, and would help us improve efficiency and optimize our costs while continuing to prepare all students for success," said Justin Michaud, Senior Program Manager, IT, at MSBSD.

"Our other goal was finding a company that would partner with us strategically. When you take students, staff, and parents into account, our new system will touch over 30,000 people, so we needed a partner that would work with us over time to continue meeting our users' diverse and growing needs. We determined that Edupoint would be the best partner to ensure that we can do that."

With Synergy Education Platform, MSBSD will be launching not just a powerful SIS, but a comprehensive ecosystem that will enable users to seamlessly manage everything from core student data to special education processes, with online registration, learning and assessment management, RTI/MTSS management, in-depth, interactive analytics, and engaging web and mobile portals for parents and students.

The role-based mobile apps included with Synergy - ParentVUE, StudentVUE, TeachverVUE, AdminVUE, HealthVUE, CounselVUE, and SE VUE - will enable the district to provide an innovative mode of access for end users and to better serve families who depend on mobile devices rather than computers.

The MSBSD Evaluation Team selected Synergy following a request for proposal (RFP) process that included a competitive two-day product evaluation and gathered input from a 30-person focus group of subject matter experts from across the district.

"Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District needed a forward-thinking data management solution with broad functionality and found that in Synergy Education Platform," said Rob Wilson, President and Chief Innovation Officer at Edupoint. "We are pleased to be partnering with Mat-Su for the long term to support student success and look forward to welcoming additional Alaska districts to the Synergy family."
