Midland Public Schools (Michigan) Selects Synergy Education Platform

MIDLAND, Mich. -- Edupoint Educational Systems announced today that Midland Public Schools (MPS) has selected the company's industry-leading Synergy® Student Education Platform for its K-12 student information and learning management needs. The district's Synergy solution will include Synergy Student Information System (SIS), Synergy Online Registration, Synergy MTSS, and Synergy Special Education (SE). MPS serves nearly 7,500 students at 12 schools in Central Michigan and will be supported by Edupoint business partner Computer Management Technologies (CMT).

Midland leadership began looking for a new student information system (SIS) when the SIS the district had used for nearly 20 years could no longer meet critical needs. The district assembled an inclusive evaluation team ranging from district administrators to classroom teachers and special services staff, with cohorts led by subject matter experts from all major functional areas. Following a rigorous, months-long review of four student information systems, MPS selected Synergy Education Platform.

Synergy Education Platform is a comprehensive student data management ecosystem that provides the real-time performance data educators need to improve learning outcomes for students while also helping districts streamline processes, improve communication, and increase collaboration. Synergy provides student information management, online registration, learning management, assessment, MTSS, special education, and analytics in one seamless platform that includes a powerful suite of native, role-based mobile apps.

"We were looking for ease of use and a great customer experience for our staff," said David Dziedzic, Director of Technology at MPS. "We conducted quite a few reference checks, and I can't tell you how many of the Edupoint customers absolutely glow about Edupoint and the Synergy product. There are a lot of features and efficiencies in Synergy that are going to help our district. We're looking forward to giving data owners control over building their own workflows for their departments, simplifying the way we manage data in co-teaching situations, and offering online registration to our families for the first time when we roll out this summer."

"By selecting Synergy Education Platform and Edupoint, Midland Public Schools is not only getting a powerful, flexible, and easy-to-use student data management solution, but also a true partner for the long term," said Rob Wilson, President and Chief Innovation Officer at Edupoint. "We have a saying here at Edupoint - 'Customer First, Always' - but when our client districts echo that sentiment among one another you know it really means something. We are pleased to welcome MPS as part of the Synergy family and look forward to supporting the district's commitment to providing equitable learning opportunities to meet the needs of all students."

Edupoint Selects Kyrene School District for 6th Annual Partner for Life Award

MESA, Ariz. -- Edupoint® Educational Systems, creator of the industry-leading Synergy® Education Platform for K-12 student information and learning management, is pleased to announce that Kyrene School District (KSD) has been selected as the recipient of the company's 2021 Partner for Life Award. Edupoint Founder and CEO Bob Weathers presented the award to Damian Nichols, Executive Director of Information Technology for KSD, at the 2021 Synergy Connect Users Conference last month in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Kyrene School District serves a diverse population of approximately 18,000 students across 26 schools in five municipalities. The district's information technology team provides broad support for everything from classroom devices to the network and infrastructure technology they rely on, with a focus on providing the best possible services to everyone in the KSD community.

For the 2020-21 school year, Kyrene School District launched Kyrene Digital Academy, an all-online K-8 school with live instruction following the same daily bell schedule used by other schools in the district. The move presented challenges for everyone involved, requiring flexibility from parents and adaptability from students and teachers, who had to learn new ways of doing things outside of a traditional classroom setting.

"One of the first things we had to do was nail down the tools that we were going to use," said Dr. Kyle Ross, Principal at Kyrene Digital Academy. "We knew we needed to call on our existing partnerships in order to make it as seamless as possible."

"It has been a huge team effort to make sure everything went off without a hitch and learning continued," Nichols said. "Edupoint was quick to react and make sure that the tools we were using integrated together so that students didn't have to go to three or four different systems in order to attend class online. They were flexible in receiving feedback and making changes to the products we were depending on. Because of that partnership, we really set students and staff up for success."

"Kyrene joined the Edupoint family as one of our first client districts in 2005," said Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO at Edupoint. "Following their initial success with Synergy SIS, the district has embraced one new module after another and now runs the full Synergy ecosystem, enjoying the many user-experience and data-flow benefits it provides. All along the way Kyrene has been an enthusiastic partner, continually providing us with invaluable feedback that has helped make the Synergy platform better for every user. I am thrilled to recognize Kyrene School District as this year's Partner for Life Award recipient."

Edupoint has awarded $10,000 to Kyrene School District to be granted as a student scholarship.

The 37 finalists represent companies, products, and people that have gone the extra mile in response to COVID-19 in the Business and Education Technology sectors. Winners will be announced during the CODiE Award Winner announcement celebrations, on June 22 and June 23, 2021.

Acknowledged as the premier awards program for the software and information industries for over 35 years, the SIIA CODiE Awards are produced by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software, education, media and digital content industries.

"This year, these leaders helped our nation respond to the historic pandemic, literally enabling the continuity of our education system and the very survival of businesses, large and small," said Jeff Joseph, SIIA President. "Congratulations to this year's finalists for demonstrating the vitality, resilience, and importance of business-to-business and education technology."

Synergy® Education Platform unites multiple K-12 data management solutions in one seamless ecosystem, creating systemwide data connections that help improve administrative processes and learning outcomes without the need for third-party system integrations. Synergy streamlines the management of student information, remote and on-site learning, assessment, MTSS, special education, and analytics to help districts personalize learning, advance equity, and promote student achievement.

Some of the needs Synergy has helped districts meet during the pandemic include:
* Adapting to new challenges as they arise, often with urgency and little notice, such as the quick transition from in-person to remote learning, hybrid scheduling, meeting new state reporting requirements, and providing contactless enrollment to families
* Monitoring student health for in-person learning
* Responding to COVID outbreaks during in-person learning
* Delivering engaging and effective instruction to remote and hybrid learners and tracking student engagement
* Empowering teachers to teach effectively from home
* Identifying at-risk students, managing interventions, and tracking progress
* Communicating frequently with parents in their language of choice and supporting them as they support their students learning at home
* Helping teachers understand the whole student - even students they have never met in person
* Understanding and addressing the impact of the pandemic on student learning progress
* Assessing student learning and analyzing results at the student, class, school, and district level
* Preparing for the return to in-person learning

As a partner, Edupoint has proactively anticipated customer needs, shifting nimbly to a new set of "pandemic priorities" and making a significant investment in product development to rapidly deliver solutions such as contact tracing, one-click video conferencing, and much more.

"During an incredibly difficult year, Edupoint has helped our partner districts navigate truly uncharted waters," said Rob Wilson, President and Chief Innovation Officer at Edupoint. "Not only have our districts found a way to navigate the challenges, but many have excelled. We've seen this not only in our third-party satisfaction surveys, but in the direct feedback we have received from our partners. The strength of our client relationships and ongoing open communication has allowed us to successfully address our partners' urgent needs. We are pleased to share this meaningful recognition with the entire Synergy family."

The SIIA CODiE Awards are the industry's only peer-reviewed awards program. Finalists were selected by teams of expert judges and represent the most impactful initiatives from software, content, media, financial information and educational technology companies. Their scores determine the SIIA CODiE Award finalists and account for 80% of the overall score. SIIA members then vote on the finalist products. The scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners.

Synergy Education Platform Enters New York State with Eastern Suffolk BOCES Contract

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. -- Eastern Suffolk BOCES (ESBOCES), an educational cooperative, has contracted with Edupoint® Educational Systems to offer the company's industry-leading Synergy® Education Platform to school districts across Long Island. School districts purchasing Synergy under this agreement will continue to receive implementation, training, and support services from the ESBOCES team. The cooperative currently provides student information system (SIS) support to 69 districts supporting more than 227,000 students.

Synergy Education Platform is a comprehensive student information and learning management ecosystem that provides the real-time performance data educators need to improve learning outcomes for students while also helping districts streamline processes, improve communication, and increase collaboration. Synergy helps districts manage student information, online registration, student learning, assessment, MTSS, special education, and analytics in one seamless platform that includes a powerful suite of native, role-based mobile apps.

ESBOCES began exploring the possibility of offering Synergy to its member districts after learning that Edupoint's founder and CEO, Bob Weathers, was the developer of SASIxp, one of the world's leading student information systems in its time. ESBOCES staff members appreciated Edupoint's long tenure in the K-12 student information system marketplace and the company's understanding of New York school operations and state reporting requirements. A vendor showcase on December 8 introduced Synergy Education Platform to ESBOCES member districts.

"We weren't looking for a new system to offer our districts," said Elaine Conlin, Program Administrator at ESBOCES. "Synergy just presented itself as a market-leading, growing solution. When we saw how it worked as a powerful, integrated platform, we decided we had to show it to our districts to give them one more option."

"Our contract with Eastern Suffolk BOCES will make it faster and easier for interested member districts to transition to Synergy," said Rob Wilson, President and Chief Innovation Officer at Edupoint. "Our team at Edupoint is looking forward to welcoming ESBOCES districts and providing them with innovative solutions to streamline their data management while promoting positive learning outcomes for students."

Lincoln County School District in Oregon Selects Synergy Education Platform

NEWPORT, Ore. -- Lincoln County School District (LCSD) has selected the industry-leading Synergy® Education Platform by Edupoint® Educational Systems for its K-12 student information and learning management needs. The district's cloud-hosted Synergy solution will include Synergy Student Information System (SIS), Synergy Online Registration, and Synergy Special Education. LCSD serves over 5,500 students across 14 schools on the Oregon coast.

Lincoln County's move to Synergy began when Superintendent Dr. Karen Gray asked Technology Director Vince Dye to research Synergy as a possible replacement for the district's SIS. Dr. Gray and several other administrators had come to LCSD from Oregon districts that used Synergy and believed that Lincoln County could benefit from what the platform had to offer. Dye visited several Synergy districts, attended a regional Synergy user conference, and thoroughly analyzed the functionality and utility of both Synergy and the district's existing SIS before determining that Synergy had more of the cutting-edge features and functionality LCSD needed.

Synergy is a comprehensive student data management ecosystem, accessed through a single interface with one login and real-time data systemwide. Synergy will simplify processes across the district, including the generation of a key LCSD report that pulls together behavior, attendance, and grade data that teachers can use for getting students to their teaching and learning targets.

"We have to be able to monitor those indicators to bring interventions to students so they can be successful," Dye said. "We've been making continuous improvements in the technology of our district both in front and behind the scenes and this will be a monumental step in taking our district to the next level. The student information system we have been using is good, but Synergy is the best. I'm excited about the opportunity we have to bring it on."

"This is the kind of student information system and dashboard our teachers, families, and students deserve," said Dr. Karen Gray, Superintendent at LCSD. "Having gone through the conversion to Synergy in another school district, it was the best thing we ever did. Synergy is even better in 2020, very much on the cutting edge and exactly where Lincoln County School District should be. It is going to save us a lot of time and energy."

"With Synergy Education Platform, Lincoln County School District is getting a seamlessly integrated student data management solution with a robust, evolving feature set," said Rob Wilson, President and Chief Innovation Officer at Edupoint. "Synergy will make it easier for district users to do things they were already doing and also make it possible to do new things they have never done. We are pleased to join with LCSD in a long-term partnership focused on continuous improvement and improved student outcomes."

IPSD 204 is the fourth largest district in Illinois, serving approximately 28,000 students across 33 schools in Aurora, a suburb of Chicago.

"In recent years we've made a massive, concerted effort to create a one-stop solution where our entire district can go to participate in the education experience," said Adam Smeets, Chief Technology officer at IPSD 204. "We wanted to make it easy for teachers to focus on students, for students to focus on their own learning, and for parents to support them both, with administrative systems staying in the background. One of the primary reasons we chose Synergy, and what we look forward to most, is that it represents this vision as an actual product."

Decision-makers at Indian Prairie engaged in an exhaustive, three-month search, thoroughly reviewing and vetting all potential options in an evaluation process that consisted of two rounds of demonstrations and the collection of nearly 60,000 data points. Hillsborough County Public Schools, Florida, Selects Synergy Education Platform

TAMPA, Fla. -- Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) has selected the industry-leading Synergy(R) Education Platform by Edupoint(R) Educational Systems for its K-12 student information management needs. The district's Synergy solution will include Synergy Student Information System and Synergy Special Education in a cloud-hosted environment. HCPS serves approximately 220,000 students in the West Central Florida area and is the eighth largest district in the country.

"It was time to retire our district-developed mainframe-based system and replace it with a modern, expandable solution," said Rick Laneau, General Manager of Information Technology for Hillsborough. "Giving parents and students better access to their educational records from anywhere at any time was a priority, and we determined that Synergy was strong in that area as well as being based on modern technology standards. We liked the fact that we can use the system's Ed-Fi and OneRoster compliance to consolidate our interfaces with third parties. Edupoint has large district experience in 20 other states, so we felt that the company would be capable of meeting our particular needs as a large Florida district."

In seeking a new system, Hillsborough County conducted a thorough evaluation process that lasted over a year. After verifying the need to replace the mainframe, the district put out a request for information to see what commercial products were available. Half a dozen vendors responded and gave onsite presentations to a committee of more than 50 stakeholders. The evaluation team built a list of district requirements based on those presentations, and HCPS issued a request for proposal. After evaluating submissions from six vendors over six months, the district selected Synergy Education Platform as the most feature-rich and cost-effective solution.

"With Synergy Education Platform, Hillsborough County Public Schools is getting a future-ready student data management solution that can not only expand and evolve as the district's needs change over time, but is also designed to maximize parent and student access and engagement," said Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO at Edupoint. "We are delighted to be serving the HCPS community and helping the district support families through the K-12 journey."

BURIEN, Wash. -- Highline Public Schools (HPS) has selected Edupoint(R) Educational Systems to implement the district's industry-leading Synergy(R) Education Platform for K-12 student information and learning management and assessment, replacing Illuminate SIS. The district's cloud-hosted Synergy solution will include Synergy Student Information System (SIS), Synergy Online Registration, and Synergy Response to Intervention (RTI/MTSS). In choosing Edupoint, the district gains a partner with a demonstrated history of successfully supporting state reporting in Washington school districts as well as a reputation for excellent support services.
