Indian Prairie School District 204 (Illinois) Selects Synergy Education Platform by Edupoint

AURORA, Ill. -- Indian Prairie School District (IPSD) 204 has selected the industry-leading Synergy® Education Platform by Edupoint® Educational Systems for its K-12 student information and learning management needs. The district's cloud-hosted Synergy solution will include Synergy Student information System, Synergy Assessment, Synergy MTSS, Synergy Special Education, and Synergy Analytics.

IPSD 204 is the fourth largest district in Illinois, serving approximately 28,000 students across 33 schools in Aurora, a suburb of Chicago.

"In recent years we've made a massive, concerted effort to create a one-stop solution where our entire district can go to participate in the education experience," said Adam Smeets, Chief Technology officer at IPSD 204. "We wanted to make it easy for teachers to focus on students, for students to focus on their own learning, and for parents to support them both, with administrative systems staying in the background. One of the primary reasons we chose Synergy, and what we look forward to most, is that it represents this vision as an actual product."

Decision-makers at Indian Prairie engaged in an exhaustive, three-month search, thoroughly reviewing and vetting all potential options in an evaluation process that consisted of two rounds of demonstrations and the collection of nearly 60,000 data points. The process involved all constituencies - including students, teachers, administrators, parents, and community members.

IPSD 204 users will be able to access all of their data in real time through one interface using one login, with role-based views displaying the right information and tools to every user. Role-based mobile apps provide unparalleled mobility and convenience for all user types.

"By selecting the full suite of Synergy modules, Indian Prairie is choosing a powerful ecosystem that will connect its people to each other and to a rich menu of productivity tools and student data - seamlessly and in real time - to simplify everyday tasks, gain unprecedented student performance insights, and benefit every user," said Rob Wilson, President and Chief Innovation Officer at Edupoint. "We are proud to be part of the district's mission, putting teachers, students, and parents at the center of the education experience."

Hillsborough County Public Schools, Florida, Selects Synergy Education Platform

TAMPA, Fla. -- Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) has selected the industry-leading Synergy(R) Education Platform by Edupoint(R) Educational Systems for its K-12 student information management needs. The district's Synergy solution will include Synergy Student Information System and Synergy Special Education in a cloud-hosted environment. HCPS serves approximately 220,000 students in the West Central Florida area and is the eighth largest district in the country.

"It was time to retire our district-developed mainframe-based system and replace it with a modern, expandable solution," said Rick Laneau, General Manager of Information Technology for Hillsborough. "Giving parents and students better access to their educational records from anywhere at any time was a priority, and we determined that Synergy was strong in that area as well as being based on modern technology standards. We liked the fact that we can use the system's Ed-Fi and OneRoster compliance to consolidate our interfaces with third parties. Edupoint has large district experience in 20 other states, so we felt that the company would be capable of meeting our particular needs as a large Florida district."

In seeking a new system, Hillsborough County conducted a thorough evaluation process that lasted over a year. After verifying the need to replace the mainframe, the district put out a request for information to see what commercial products were available. Half a dozen vendors responded and gave onsite presentations to a committee of more than 50 stakeholders. The evaluation team built a list of district requirements based on those presentations, and HCPS issued a request for proposal. After evaluating submissions from six vendors over six months, the district selected Synergy Education Platform as the most feature-rich and cost-effective solution.

"With Synergy Education Platform, Hillsborough County Public Schools is getting a future-ready student data management solution that can not only expand and evolve as the district's needs change over time, but is also designed to maximize parent and student access and engagement," said Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO at Edupoint. "We are delighted to be serving the HCPS community and helping the district support families through the K-12 journey."

In choosing Edupoint, the district gains a partner with a demonstrated history of successfully supporting state reporting in Washington school districts as well as a reputation for excellent support services.

"Highline Public Schools wasn't just looking for a great SIS with proven state reporting, but also a partner the district could count on for timely and responsive support," said Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO of Edupoint. "We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership supporting the district's current student data and learning management needs while growing together over time to ensure that new needs are met. Edupoint Enters Alaska with the Matanuska-Susitna School District’s Selection of Synergy Education Platform

PALMER, Alaska -- Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District (MSBSD) selected Edupoint(R) Educational Systems to implement the district's industry-leading Synergy(R) Education Platform. The district's Synergy solution will include the full suite of Synergy modules - Synergy Student Information System, Synergy Learning Management System with RTI/MTSS and Assessment, Synergy Special Education, and Synergy Analytics. MSBSD is the second-largest school district in Alaska, serving approximately 19,000 students across 47 schools near Anchorage.

"Our vision was to acquire a new SIS that was modern and responsive, would evolve with technology changes and the changing needs of K-12 education, and would help us improve efficiency and optimize our costs while continuing to prepare all students for success," said Justin Michaud, Senior Program Manager, IT, at MSBSD.

"Our other goal was finding a company that would partner with us strategically. When you take students, staff, and parents into account, our new system will touch over 30,000 people, so we needed a partner that would work with us over time to continue meeting our users' diverse and growing needs. We determined that Edupoint would be the best partner to ensure that we can do that."

With Synergy Education Platform, MSBSD will be launching not just a powerful SIS, but a comprehensive ecosystem that will enable users to seamlessly manage everything from core student data to special education processes, with online registration, learning and assessment management, RTI/MTSS management, in-depth, interactive analytics, and engaging web and mobile portals for parents and students.

The role-based mobile apps included with Synergy - ParentVUE, StudentVUE, TeachverVUE, AdminVUE, HealthVUE, CounselVUE, and SE VUE - will enable the district to provide an innovative mode of access for end users and to better serve families who depend on mobile devices rather than computers.

The MSBSD Evaluation Team selected Synergy following a request for proposal (RFP) process that included a competitive two-day product evaluation and gathered input from a 30-person focus group of subject matter experts from across the district.

"Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District needed a forward-thinking data management solution with broad functionality and found that in Synergy Education Platform," said Rob Wilson, President and Chief Innovation Officer at Edupoint. "We are pleased to be partnering with Mat-Su for the long term to support student success and look forward to welcoming additional Alaska districts to the Synergy family."

Millbrae School District Expands Synergy Solution to Include Online Registration and Assessment

MILLBRAE, Calif. -- Edupoint(R) Educational Systems, creator of the industry-leading Synergy(R) Education Platform for K-12 student information and learning management, has been selected by Millbrae School District (MSD) to implement the company's Synergy Online Registration and Synergy Assessment solutions, and the Inspect(R) Item Bank from Key Data Systems that works seamlessly with Synergy Assessment. MSD is located in San Mateo County in the San Francisco Bay Area.

These modules will augment the district's current implementation of Synergy Education Platform, which includes Synergy Student Information System, Master Schedule Builder, the ParentVUE(R) and StudentVUE(R) web portals and mobile apps, and the TeacherVUE(R) Portal with gradebook. All Synergy modules are fully integrated across the platform and provide real-time information to stakeholders.

"Synergy Online Registration is going to help with accuracy and save us a lot of time," said Frank Lagomarsino, Technology Specialist for MSD. "It will help with our workflow tremendously to have parents and guardians enter the registration information online rather than having our staff input the data manually from hand-written forms. Synergy Assessment, with the Inspect Item Bank, will allow increased control and more choices than the system we previously used to manage assessment data. Furthermore, the Item Bank will help us get up and running sooner than past years. Previously, our students were taking tests on bubble sheets and teachers had to enter each student's score manually into our system. Now students will be taking assessments within the StudentVUE portal and the scores will automatically show up in their teacher's gradebook. The process will be much more streamlined as a result."

"We are pleased to provide these additional Synergy modules to Millbrae School District," said Bob Weathers, Founder & CEO of Edupoint. "With Synergy Online Registration, Synergy Assessment, and the Inspect Item Bank, Millbrae will benefit not only from the greater ease of use that comes with simplified processes, but also from the full integration that enables data to flow seamlessly and in real time between Synergy Education Platform modules from where it is entered to where it needs to go. We look forward to our continued partnership with Millbrae."
