NCCAA Launches ‘Sleeves Up North Carolina’ COVID Vaccine Campaign

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The North Carolina Community Action Association (NCCAA) has launched "Sleeves Up North Carolina" - a statewide public education campaign aimed at dispelling common myths and providing factual information about the COVID-19 vaccines.

"Black and brown populations in North Carolina are hesitant to take a vaccine to help mediate the coronavirus pandemic," said NCCAA Executive Director Sharon C. Goodson. "Much of this hesitancy comes from misinformation about the development of the vaccines, as well as the historical perspectives of how black and brown people have been treated with regards to healthcare.

"The Sleeves Up North Carolina campaign is designed to support our local communities with the resources needed to engage people and reinforce trusted information sources so that we can increase the rate of vaccines administered across the state," she said.

The campaign is centered around a series of 30-second public service announcements that each debunk a common myth. The ads feature an animated character making an inaccurate declaration regarding the vaccines. Former NBA basketball player Chris Wilcox then addresses the erroneous statement with factual vaccine information.

The PSAs include a toll number for qualifying North Carolinians to schedule free roundtrip rides to COVID-19 vaccine appointments through the United Way of the Greater Triangle's Ride United NC program: https://www.unitedwaytriangle.org/rideunitednc/.

"COVID-19 has really devastated the world, and also created even more downstream impacts for underserved communities," said Wilcox, CEO, Wilcox Distribution. "I have cried with so many family members, friends, and neighbors in my hometown Whiteville, North Carolina over loved ones lost, and business shutdowns during this pandemic.

"But the time has come for us to reclaim living, going to church and getting our children back into classrooms. Vaccines are available and they will help us do that. The data shows they save lives, so I'm standing with United Way and partnering with NCCAA by encouraging everyone to get vaccinated today," he said.

The PSAs, developed by Kernel, a digital creative agency, take a light-hearted, yet impactful and memorable approach to address four vaccine fallacies:
* The vaccine sickens recipients with the COVID-19 virus
* People who have been infected do not need to be vaccinated
* The vaccines were developed too quickly to be effective
* Once vaccinated, a mask is no longer required

To complement the PSAs, the Sleeves Up North Carolina campaign will include engaging social media content and a resource hub on the NCCAA website with informational posters, blog posts and local success stories, among other resources.

"We want to ensure that we are providing North Carolinians who are hesitant, reluctant, distrusting, or otherwise unmotivated with respect to the COVID-19 vaccines with the resources, information, and support they need to make the vaccination decision that is right for them," said Goodson.

Congressman Ron Kind praises vaccination clinic in La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- AMI Expeditionary Healthcare along with three partnering organizations - the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, the Department of Health Services and the La Crosse County Health Department - welcomed Rep. Ron Kind, on March 23, as he toured a COVID-19 vaccination site that has distributed more than 2,000 doses since its opening on March 9.

"We are proud of the work being done here by the AMI team and all of its partners," said Daniel Beck, senior operations manager for AMI Expeditionary Healthcare who is helping to oversee several vaccination centers throughout the state.

Rep. Ron Kind on Tuesday toured the community-based vaccination clinic at UW-La Crosse, as the site continues to expand access to the COVID-19 vaccine in the Coulee Region.

"This is an unbelievable vaccine site operation - it's a well-oiled machine," Rep. Kind said, noting that Wisconsin is among the top five states in the country when it comes to distributing vaccine in a timely manner. "It's because of planning, preparation and vaccine sites like this that keep people safe."

Julie Willems Van Dijk, deputy secretary for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, said it's been a team effort to get as many people vaccinated as possible, as quickly as possible.

"It's all players, all working together, all the time," she explained. "We've provided vaccine to health care, pharmacies, local health departments, employers, tribal nations ... and they're all distributing the vaccine quickly."

AMI Expeditionary Healthcare works with the state to identify locations to address gaps in vaccine access and support vaccination efforts. Factors including population demographics, local health capacity, operations, and concentration of other vaccine providers are taken into consideration when planning for clinics.

DHS community-based clinics are operated by AMI Expeditionary Healthcare through collaboration with the University of Wisconsin System, local public health departments, and other local partners.

AMI Expeditionary Healthcare to partner with Pennsylvania to disseminate 94,600 COVID-19 vaccines to schoolteachers

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- AMI Expeditionary Healthcare announces its partnership with the state of Pennsylvania and for its special initiative to help vaccinate all schoolteachers, child-care worker and school staff. Pennsylvania expects to receive an initial allocation of 94,600 doses of the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) single-dose vaccine this week and AMI Expeditionary Healthcare will begin vaccinating on March 10.

"This is an extraordinary opportunity to be able to help Pennsylvania open the doors to school children from Pre-K to 12 across the state of Pennsylvania," said Dr. Michael Wilson, Medical Director, Vaccine and Testing Programs for AMI Expeditionary Healthcare. "We are relying on a proven track record of being on the ground across the country and globe to help Pennsylvania execute this very ambitious plan."

Constellis, an integrated risk management leader and provider of essential mission support services to government and commercial customers worldwide is partnering with AMI. Constellis delivers comprehensive COVID-19 response mobilization and operations at all levels of government and its vaccine services program ensures rapid, compliant execution of state and federal COVID-19 vaccination plans.

The Wolf Administration is collaborating with Intermediate Units (IUs) and other education partners to equitably vaccinate all school employees and contracted staff as quickly as possible.

"The approval of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine provides a great opportunity to launch this special initiative to vaccinate all teachers, child care workers and school staff without interrupting the flow of vaccine local providers have already administered to more than 1.8 million Pennsylvanians," said Acting Secretary of Health Alison Beam.

Allocations received by Pennsylvania from the federal government will be distributed to each IU based on the proportion of Pre-K to 12 public and non-public school employees and contracted staff in each IU's region.

Child care workers will be contacted by one of the local Retail Pharmacy Program partners - Rite Aid, Topco and Walmart - to schedule vaccinations using the additional, separate allocations of Johnson & Johnson vaccine they will receive from the federal government.

The rollout begins Wednesday in two locations with scores of others opening over the next few days. The sites will likely support up to 500 doses a day, with some of the sites being able to administer up to 1,000 doses a day. The full operation should take between eight and 10 days.

"I am grateful to Governor Wolf and the Legislative Task Force for making educators a priority for the Johnson and Johnson vaccine," said Acting Secretary of Education Noe Ortega. "After a year of unprecedented educational shifts and tensions, we are closer to relieving some constraints and increasing access to in-person learning opportunities, services, programs, and supports that will positively impact entire communities."

It's important to note that Philadelphia is not included in these allocations, because Philadelphia County is a separate vaccine jurisdiction.

There will be at least one vaccination site per IU region. School staff will be directed to the vaccination site in the region within which their school is located. The Pennsylvania National Guard (PANG) and AMI Expeditionary Healthcare, LLC, a health organization contracted by PEMA for planning and staffing assistance at commonwealth-established vaccine sites, will direct operations and administer doses at these sites. Vaccination sites are expected to begin operations between March 10 and 13 with daily operational hours.

‘Flu Death Frenzy + Corona Craziness = What?’ says Dr. Harte

CORTE MADERA, Calif. -- Dr. Don Harte, noted chiropractic activist and former Libertarian State Senate candidate, is "extremely concerned about unsubstantiated reports of flu deaths, along with lack of public health response to Chinese viral threat."

Dr. Harte says, "It seems that our so-called public health officials are deliberately creating fear, and hoping for panic. They are ginning up fears of the flu, combined with a possible corona virus epidemic.

"I am deeply concerned about what others may be relieved about," Dr. Harte admits. "Reports are coming in of corona virus vaccines being rushed to completion and then production, via new technology."

Dr. Harte declares, "New technology seems exciting to some, but in Medicine, it's Russian roulette. Who knows the ramifications, both in safety and efficacy, of this totally novel vaccine for a novel virus? The regular vaccines create enough serious health problems."

"A fascinating, and scary part of this blossoming health problem is that CDC officials are saying, at least for the moment, that influenza, the flu, is a far more serious threat to Americans than the corona virus. What we have here," comments Dr. Harte, "is fear from the corona virus being used, very deliberately, to increase fear of the flu virus, and, thereby, increase sales of the mostly ineffective and definitely risky flu vaccine."

"Perhaps the most serious issue," Dr. Harte notes, "is the believability of the CDC. It has 'cried wolf' far too many times, and continues to do so. For years, the CDC has claimed that the flu kills 36,000 a year in this country. Last flu season, all of a sudden, they claimed 82,000."

"We can only know," Dr. Harte says, "what's going on in China and around the world with the new corona virus through news reports. We all know, from personal life experience, that no one we knew ever died from the flu, while everyone we know has had the flu, many several times. Only the already very sick and feeble ever end up in the hospital. Yes, boys and girls, the CDC is lying. Their quasi-statistical trick," according to Dr. Harte. "is combining flu deaths with pneumonia deaths. Take away pneumonia, and you're left with a few hundred deaths a year in a nation of 320 million. The obvious conclusion? Influenza, the flu, is not a dangerous, fatal disease."

Dr. Harte warns, "When the corona vaccine comes out, watch out for an all-out fear campaign, from state, federal and international sources. If that vaccine will be as ineffective and dangerous as the flu vaccine, I wouldn't trust it."

"Finally," explains Dr. Harte, "the best way to avoid the flu, the corona virus, or any infectious disease, is to get healthy. Eat well, exercise, rest appropriately, and get your nervous system free of interference by regular chiropractic care. Your nervous system runs your immune system, so take care of it! The best way to get the flu is to get a flu shot." Dr. Harte wonders, "It might work the same way for the coming corona virus vaccine. So why do it?"

Dr. Don Harte, former medical student, is a principled, traditional chiropractor serving Marin and the Greater Bay Area since 1981. He is an activist in the struggle for free speech for chiropractors. Dr. Harte was named 2006 "Chiropractor of the Year" by the World Chiropractic Alliance (WCA). He has served on the Boards of the WCA and the Council on Chiropractic Practice. His articles have been published in OMNI magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, Chiropractic Journal and Journal of the California Chiropractic Association.

‘A New Stupid Low for Golden Globes – Flu Shots for All,’ says Dr. Harte

CORTE MADERA, Calif. -- Dr. Don Harte, noted chiropractic activist and former Libertarian State Senate candidate, is "outraged by the dog-and-pony flu shot show during the recent Golden Globes awards. But it was entertaining, in a very weird way, including the shock and disgust of some of the intended victims, notably William Defoe."

Dr. Harte relates, "What happened was that one of the two celebrity hosts, Sandra Oh, announced, very excitedly, 'Roll up your sleeves, Hollywood, because you're all getting flu shots.' The other 'genius' host, Andy Samberg, added that if you're an 'anti-vaxxer, you could put a napkin on your head and you'll be skipped.' Dr. Harte calls this stunt "medical care, by shame."

Dr. Harte declares, "This Hollywood publicity stunt for the flu vaccine is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen from celebrities! But it does go with the flu shot itself, which is, perhaps, the stupidest of all the vaccines available. It's concocted, every year, from three or four strains of influenza from the year before. Since influenza almost always mutates, the flu shot is never up to date with what is presently out there. And, despite blatant playing with statistics from the CDC, influenza is NOT a dangerous disease. Know anyone who died from the flu? This is all a bad, dangerous joke, but a profitable joke for Big Pharma."

"Contrary to the CDC propaganda, annual deaths from the flu," Dr. Harte explains, "are less than 400 per year, most if not all, I would assume, are of people who are already in very bad shape. On the other hand, severe side effects, including the dreaded, paralyzing Guillain-Barre Syndrome, sometimes leading to death, can come from the flu shot itself."

Dr. Harte wonders about "the irresponsibility of alleged 'medical professionals' from the local Rite-Aid performing a medical procedure without knowing medical histories, without receiving informed consent." He further explains, "But, then, informed consent is not part of the whole vaccination thing. Post World War II, the world learned about the importance of medical informed consent, from the Nuremburg Trials. Flu vaccination, and every other kind of vaccination is, somehow, exempt from this basic ethical standard."

Here's three scientific facts to fix your celebrity-induced confusion, offers Dr. Harte:
(1) Every vaccine works by short-circuiting normal immune responses, which causes chronic inflammation, which can include the brain;
(2) Every vaccine contains multiple substances that are poisonous to the immune system and the nervous system, which can and will cause serious illness.
(3) The Great Myth of Vaccination, that it has saved millions of lives from the infectious plagues of the past is simply untrue. What saved millions was better sanitation... clean water, sewer systems, refrigeration for food.

"Finally," explains Dr. Harte, "the best way to avoid the flu is to get healthy. Eat well, exercise, rest appropriately, and get your nervous system free of interference by regular chiropractic care. Your nervous system runs your immune system, so take care of it! The best way to get the flu is to get a flu shot. So why do it?"
