TULSA, OK /Send2Press Newswire/ — Comedy acts from around the country will join together in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to perform on Sunday, April 17, 2005, at Tulsa Comedy Club. “Comedy For Freedom” will benefit the Freedom Girls Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Tulsa to promote freedom in America and the sale of Patriot U.S. Savings Bonds.



“This is truly an American effort. These performers are donating their time and waiving their performance fees in an effort to promote freedom in America at a time when we really need it,” said Susan Dale, founder of the Freedom Girls Foundation. Dale will be the show’s emcee and will perform her act at the show.

Headlining will be Howard Moore, of Long Island, New York. Moore has appeared on over fifteen shows including Phil Donahue, Geraldo, and Sally Jessy Raphael. He has also appeared on BET’s “ComicView,” Comedy Central Stand-Up and New York’s “Comic Justice.”

Other headliners include Damon Williams, Buddy Big Mountain and David Graham. Williams is from Chicago and has performed on BET’s “ComicView” since 1994. He hosted his own one-hour television special, and has appeared on “Showtime at the Apollo.”

Big Mountain is the show’s only ventriloquist. He is the first internationally recognized Native American Master Ventriloquist Puppeteer. Graham appeared has at the Funny Bone Comedy Club in St. Louis, Mo. His brand of physical, high-energy comedy led him to appear on the ABC-TV series “America’s Funniest People,” on Comedy Central’s “Comic Justice,” and “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno.

“Comedy for Freedom” will feature three performances beginning at 1:00pm, Sunday, April 17th with additional shows at 3:30pm and 6:00pm. Comedians scheduled to perform in addition to Moore, Williams, Graham and Big Mountain, include William Nickerson, Eric Counts, Steve Mills, Michelle VanDusen, Cheryl Henke, Jason Brown, Tommy B, John Fannell and GrapeTop.

Tickets for “Comedy for Freedom” are $25.00 and $50.00. The $50.00 tickets include a “Comedy for Freedom” t-shirt and VIP seating.
