The Nazareth, Pennsylvania-based Stephens’ Original Foods Company is owned and operated by Mark and Evelyn Stephens. The Stephens’ are eager to drive the synergies between the packaged soups with the tradition and heritage of the Old Original Bookbinder’s restaurant, located in Philadelphia’s historic Old City and established in 1865.

The current line of seafood soups and bisques are manufactured in South Jersey. The clams and oysters are caught fresh off the Jersey shores. In addition to the seafood bisques (lobster, shrimp, crab, and seafood), the Bookbinder’s product line features Snapper Soup, New England and Manhattan Clam Chowders, Oyster Stew, Seafood Pepper Pot Soup, Clam Sauces, Clam Juice, Breadcrumbs, and Seasonings.

Stephens’ short-term goals for growing the Bookbinder’s Soups & Seasonings brands focus on increasing off-shelf display inventory in grocery chains, increasing points of distribution, and expanding foodservice penetration. Current distribution is throughout the U.S.

Prior to establishing The Stephens’ Original Foods Company, Stephens held a variety of executive positions, including Vice President of Foodservice at Pepsi Bottling Group and Regional Marketing Manager at Pfizer/Warner Lambert. Evelyn Stephens also serves as Director of Cairnwood, a historic mansion in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania.
