CULVER CITY, Calif. – June 20 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Actor and comedian, Tom Arnold, will address the Class of 2005 graduating from the Kayne Eras Center (KEC) School on June 22. All 23 graduates are youngsters challenged by learning, developmental or emotional disabilities who have overcome many obstacles to arrive at this significant milestone. Of the graduating class, 15 students are already enrolled for the fall term in area colleges and trade schools.

Arnold, an important supporter of the KEC School and long-time advocate for children, will inspire these young adults to reach further and achieve their best. Dwight Counsel, KEC School Principal, highly values Arnold’s support.

“It’s so important to show these kids that they can do anything they set their hearts and minds on,” explains Counsel.

“While they have many challenges to face as adults, our graduates have learned important skills and techniques to overcome their disabilities. Tom Arnold helps us say it loud and clear, ‘You CAN,'” Counsel adds.

The Kayne Eras Center (formerly known as ERAS) was established in 1980 to address the lack of direct programs and services for disabled children and young adults in Los Angeles. The Center is located in the heart of Culver City, California, and operates a K-12 non-public school for up to 250 students; an agency providing diagnostic and therapeutic services; and programs offering therapeutic arts and enrichment activities, post-secondary vocational training and mental health services.

The Kayne Eras Center has a history of successfully providing educational services for more than six thousand youth with a range of developmental, neurological, medical, learning and emotional disabilities. Strong in the belief that, “individual success is the priority,” KEC focuses on the strengths of each student to improve self esteem, remediate disabilities, and teach skills for long-term achievement.

Arnold will address the graduating class at an intimate commencement ceremony at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 22 in the Tom Arnold Theater at KEC. The theater was named in Arnold’s honor for a generous gift he made during construction of the KEC facility. Arnold continues to support the Center each year by organizing the Tom Arnold Celebrity Roast. This event has raised more than $500,000 for the Center. Arnold’s wife, Shelby Roos Arnold, actively serves on the Kayne Eras Center Board of Directors and is a member of the Angels, a KEC support group.
