SAN JOSE, Calif. – Jan. 4 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Micromethod Technologies announces the availability of H.460 support in its end-to-end multi-boundary traversal solution, Horizon. As a scalable traversal solution on the market, Horizon securely overcomes both near-end and far-end firewall and NAT issues in H.323 and SIP based rich media communication network. While maintaining the security and advantages of firewall and NAT, Horizon extends the seamless IP communication across networks among organizations.

H.460.18 and H.460.19 are standards from ITU that enable H.323 devices to exchange signaling and media across boundary imposed by NAT and firewalls, with no additional equipment on the customer premise.

With addition of H.460.18 and H.460.19 implementation, Horizon now concurrently supports both secure proprietary traversal and standard-based H.460 traversal. While the proprietary traversal enables any H.323 device to communicate securely across firewall and NATs by deploying a software client with endpoints; H.460 based traversal allows end-to-end communication for any H.460 compliant endpoint directly without any equipment on customer premise. Both regular H.323 device and H.460 compliant devices such as Polycom and Tandberg can be deployed with Horizon for seamless communication across enterprise networks.

“Micromethod’s existing boundary traversal is a leading secure solution for end-to-end rich media communication,” said Michael Zhang, product manager of Micromethod Technologies. “By incorporating both H.460 standards into Horizon, we will be able to address firewall and NAT issues for both H.460 compliant and standard H.323 devices with easy and simple deployment.”

Horizon 3.0 version is available for 30 days free trial upon request. For more information, see micromethod.com/products/horizon.html.
