CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 10 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Scott Forsyth, Director of Technology for ORCS Web, has been nominated by the Executive Alliance for the Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year Southeast 2009 award. The award, which recognizes information security executives and project teams for outstanding achievement in risk management, data asset protection, compliance, privacy, and network security, is one of the most widely recognized awards for IT security executives.

"I'm flattered to be nominated alongside professionals from organizations such as Raytheon, McKesson, Wachovia, First Data, and the U.S. Air Force," said Scott. "Information security has been a passion of mine for a long time, and I'm fortunate to be in a position to put programs into place that protect the integrity of our clients' systems."

Forsyth and his team of Microsoft Certified professionals recently achieved Payment Card Industry (PCI) DSS Level 1 certification by Mastercard and Visa for their work with client CredEcard, meeting the stringent security specifications and processes of the PCI standard. Many of the security requirements of the standard were already being performed for all of ORCS Web's clients, making the effort to achieve compliance one more of documenting what was already in place than instituting new security measures.

"The prominent industry leaders that are nominated for ISE Southeast exemplify the caliber of this year's Leadership Summit," said Marci McCarthy, CEO of Executive Alliance. "We couldn't think of a better testament to the significance of the ISE Program Award Series in its seventh year, as it continues to bring visibility to the information security and risk management industry and to the men and women who lead it." Announcement of the 2009 finalists and winner will be in Atlanta on March 27th.
