A R T I C L E:

Technology Insight Corporation (TIC) was recently acknowledged by Wabash National Corporation, a leading manufacturer of semi-trailers in North America, as a key supplier at its recent annual supplier conference. This is the second time within its four-year relationship with Wabash that Technology Insight has been recognized by Wabash out of thousands of suppliers for its notable performance and support of the company’s business. It was first recognized in 2007, not even one year into the relationship.

Technology Insight has proven its ability to provide a significant impact on business both immediately and ongoing. The 2010 awards focused on the ability of its suppliers to explicitly understand the company’s needs and to prove resourceful in uncertain economic times.

Primarily, Wabash has evolved from using Technology Insight’s spend analysis solution to leverage its own spending power to further increasing savings through the creation of The Transportation Equipment Purchasing Consortium (TEPC), using Technology Insight’s Consortium solution, which consolidates spend across non-competing companies in the transportation industry to drive greater savings for each company than could be achieved alone.

“This year has been more difficult than ever due to the steep upward slope in volume demand for Wabash National products. The ability of our suppliers to manage through this dramatic change after idling resources and capacity has been most challenging,” says Wabash National Vice President of Global Strategic Sourcing Steve Miller. “Our award winners separated themselves this year not only through their performance, but through acknowledging, supporting and embracing our vision and strategies.”

Karl Andersson, founder of Technology Insight, explains that working with Wabash has been a very positive experience in this current economic climate.

“I’m continuously impressed by how Wabash uses spend analysis and metrics to gain further efficiencies and savings from their supply chain,” says Andersson. “I feel their proactive behavior has been a key component to them weathering this economic climate.”

What sets Technology Insight apart from other companies that were bestowed this award is that all of the others focus on parts manufacturing while Technology Insight focuses on technology and services.
