Lyon brings 12 years of insurance industry sales and sales management experience to PowerGuard, where he will be responsible for leading the company’s sales initiatives in both the solar and wind energy sectors.
As vice president and sales executive, Lyon will direct initiatives across all distribution channels, working with retail brokers, project developers, alternative energy investors and others across the country to promote and manage new business opportunities for the PowerGuard team. He will be based in PowerGuard’s Irvine, Calif. headquarters and will report directly to managing principal, Mike McMullen.

Prior to joining PowerGuard, Lyon worked for retail insurance broker Barney & Barney, LLC in San Diego, Calif., where he was director of program sales. He began his insurance career in 1999 with Universal Underwriters/Zurich, where he held a range of sales management, production and account management positions.
Lyon holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
