A R T I C L E:

IDS, a mortgage document preparation vendor, has released the first phase of improvements to its web-based idsDoc doc prep platform. The system improvements are designed to allow IDS to better serve their customers through faster implementations of new features, easier development and a more intuitive user interface.

The release included updating all coding within idsDoc to make the system easier to maintain and upgrade when new features become available. In addition, the changes made to idsDoc reduced the number of screens users must click through, creating a better process flow for IDS customers.

"Mortgage document compliance is fraught with challenges that could trip up even the most seasoned originator," said IDS Executive Vice President Mark Mackey. "Our goal is to refine and enhance the idsDoc system to the point that originators can execute the most mundane and common tasks with just a few clicks and focus their efforts on the nuances and grey areas of their loans, which is where many compliance issues occur most often."

"These improvements and the evolution of idsDoc has been a work in progress for about a year. It is something that needed to be done so that we are able to better serve our customers and add new features based on their needs and wants," Mackey explained. "For example, the TIL page was re-worded in order for users to better understand and read it, whereas before it was unorganized and harder to comprehend."

The next phase of improvements will focus on enhancing the aesthetic features of the system and refining the user experience within the system. Many of these improvements be implemented discreetly on an ongoing basis.
