Hollywood Meets Nashville as Jane Bach, Sandra Piller and Special Guests Perform a Songwriter’s Round at Genghis Cohen

Jane Bach, Sandra Piller, Kyle Megginson, Kaela GardnerLOS ANGELES, Calif. (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Hearing great songs in an up-close-and-personal setting is common in music-friendly towns like Nashville, but Hollywood is not to be outdone as Genghis Cohen presents a special Monday evening “songwriter’s round” on March 18 featuring Jane Bach, Sandra Piller, Kaela Gardner, and Kyle Megginson.

“We love this location for a songwriter’s round,” notes Jane Bach, organizer of the event. “It’s intimate, friendly, and offers terrific sound.” This special one-time performance will feature Bach, Shady Hill Records artist Sandra Piller, and special guests from the Los Angeles music scene: Ohio-born country girl Kaela Gardner grew up singing in church and has recorded with Disney, Disney Radio, Saddleback Church, and Upscale Records. Kyle Megginson went from studying theology to writing and performing songs and is now working on his second album.

Bach is the writer of one of Reba McEntire’s biggest hit songs, “The Last One to Know.”) She also wrote hits for Jo Dee Messina, Ray Price and others. A frequent performer at writer’s rounds in cities all around the country, Bach will be the evening’s host as well as one of the singers.

Piller will be performing numbers from her latest full album, “Days Like These,” and her new 6-song EP, “Love Goes On,” which is dedicated to her late husband, Michael. “It is great to see fans of my music as well as people who feel so close to Michael for all his great work,” Piller adds. “When Jane and I appear at Star Trek and Deep Space 9 conventions and events, the people who remember Michael with love just make my day.”

The performance space at Genghis Cohen is ideal for appreciating great material. “One of the best things about a writer’s round program is that you get to hear from the creator of a work that may have touched your life,” Bach notes, “and we love Genghis Cohen for this.”

Bach is a strong supporter of the Nashville songwriter-in-the-round format. “There’s nothing quite like it,” she states. “And you never know when you’ll be hearing a song that will become the next big hit,” Bach adds. The Genghis Cohen event will follow the classic format of the round, with all songwriters on stage at the same time. A writer plays one of their songs, followed by the next writer, and the next, and so on. The camaraderie and sharing is a delight to watch.

Genghis Cohen is located at 740 N. Fairfax Ave. (just North of Melrose), Hollywood, CA 90046. Phone: (323) 653-0640. The club has a full bar and restaurant and street parking is available. There is an $8 dollar cover. Showtime is 7:30 to 8:45pm.
