Arkansas Mutual Insurance Company (AMIC), the state’s fastest growing medical liability insurance company, announced that they are adding a Risk Management Department to support and develop preventative medical practices for their policyholder/owners. AMIC has hired Rebecca Tutton R.N.,J.D, the Director of Hospital Risk Management for the UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark.
Ms. Tutton developed and directed the Risk Management program at the UAMS Medical Center since 1998. She is a registered nurse and also holds a law degree from UALR Law School. Prior to that, Ms. Tutton was the Director of Risk Management at St. Vincent Hospital.

Ms. Tutton will be developing the program and related services over the next few months and AMIC plans to initiate the program in the fall of 2013. The program will provide Risk Management Practice Assessment, education for office staff, telephone consultation, online reference materials and online study for physicians that will provide a reduction in premiums.
