Flashlight and Video of Hero San Bernardino Sheriff will be on Display at the National Law Enforcement Museum

ONTARIO, Calif. — The National Law Enforcement Museum will open to the public on October 13 in Washington D.C. and MAGLITE(R) representatives and San Bernardino County Sheriff Lieutenant Jim Considine will be in attendance to experience this momentous occasion.

Considine was severely wounded while on duty in a 1997 shooting. A bullet from an AK-47 rifle was deflected from a “center-mass” chest wound by the MAGLITE(R) flashlight the Sheriff was carrying. A video encompassing Considine’s story is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JV0SL-53Ekc

Mag Instrument, the manufacturer of the MAGLITE flashlight, is one of the earliest supporters of the National Law Enforcement Museum. The MAGLITE(R) brand will have items displayed in the Museum including the flashlight that saved the life of Jim Considine, a San Bernardino County Sheriff when his full sized rechargeable MAGLITE(R) flashlight blocked an AK-47 bullet and kept working.

“That Maglite saved my life,” said Considine. “I am looking forward to being at the opening of the Museum and I thank Maglite for making that happen.”

The MAGLITE(R) brand has a strong connection with law enforcement who was the earliest large scale adopters of MAGLITE(R) flashlights which are known for their quality and toughness.

“Our law enforcement officers risk their lives every day to keep us safe,” said Anthony Maglica. “This museum is a worthy addition to the monuments and museums in Washington D.C. to show visitors just how difficult and dangerous a job these individuals do for all of us every day.”
