The awards program recognizes Dayton-area companies and business leaders who have outshined their competitors.

The Business of the Year judging demanded a rigorous set of objective criteria, with Energy Optimizers, USA being chosen as a finalist amongst many deserving candidates from the Miami Valley.
The judges independently use a 100 point scale for each of the six judging criteria: financials, supporting documentation, innovations, strategy and vision; product or service’s place in the market; outshining others. Those individual scores are totaled and only the top three scorers in each award category are named finalists.
