MicroShield 360 Reflects on Impact to Private Aviation

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- MicroShield 360, an industry leader in antimicrobial coatings, has announced today that in the last year, more than 600 private aircraft have had the company's highly durable antimicrobial product applied to interior surfaces for added protection. Due to demand for safer air travel amid the on-going pandemic, MicroShield 360 is expanding application and distribution capabilities to meet the demand of the aviation industry.

A key component to the company's strategy was to create a better price point for its loyal customers and lower barrier of entry for new customers.

"2020 was a year marked by unexpected challenges for everyone, including us," said Steve Kubec, Vice President of MicroShield 360. "We knew in 2021 that we would have to challenge ourselves to deliver our products and services to a wider audience with more efficiency. Our strategic approach now includes competitive pricing and expanded product offerings. We understand this all about accessibility and consumer confidence."

MicroShield 360 has created a robust and detailed web-based training program that is available to any company or aviation end-user that wants to have the antimicrobial coating applied to its aircraft to create the safest environment possible. This is coupled with the release of MicroShield 360 Endure, a non-alcohol-based hand sanitizer that is effective for up to 4 hours.

"The product line and service are built on flexibility and the preference of our clients," says Kubec. "Our aviation partners have been amazing over the last year. Without their dedication to their customers and crew members, we would not be in the position we are today to help create the peace of mind everyone wants when they step onto a plane. The confidence to travel safely is paramount to our culture and economy, now more than ever."

MicroShield 360 is approved by Bombardier, Embraer, Dassault and multiple component manufacturers for application to virtually every surface on an airplane, including the cockpit.

"We cannot put into words how appreciative we are of these company's efforts to approve of, and more importantly improve on, what we can bring to the market." Kubec continues with, "We look forward to continuing to establish the aviation industry standard for safe, clean and protected air travel."

The MicroShield 360 antimicrobial coating, disinfectant and hand sanitizer are now available for purchase direct from the company, OEMs, Embraer, and Bombardier, as well as any of its authorized application agents throughout the United States.

Arizona Jobsite Adopts Enhanced COVID-19 Safety Measures to Keep Workers Safe On-Site

MESA, Ariz. -- GCON, Inc. the construction management company leading Mesa Hangar, a major addition to Falcon Field Airport, announces enhanced safety measures as part of a proactive approach to on-site Health and Safety. These measures are key to keeping construction professionals healthy and working during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the official mandate in early March, weekly group calls have been established to review site practices, discuss issues, and overcome concerns to implement new systems and practices that will likely remain new industry standards:

* Weekly analysis of jobsite to create custom social distancing plans that include staff monitoring systems to limit the flow of workers in potentially crowded areas.

* Third party services hired to set up wash stations and regularly disinfect the site.

* New COVID-19-specific site safety manuals with modeled practices from CDC recommendations are used to train subcontractors and trade partners.

* Routine monitoring processes for spotting symptoms of the virus are in place along with measures of caution to stay home for those with COVID-19 exposure.

* Personal Protective Equipment, such as gloves, safety glasses and masks, worn full-time by all jobsite personnel.

* The washing of tools prior to beginning on-site work and at shift-end as part of daily start-up and closing protocols.

"Our efficiencies have changed dramatically and it's something we all work together on. Our subcontractors and trade partners can't just show up anymore. They have to self-monitor and check for symptoms, follow dedicated entry and exit routes, and utilize washing stations regularly," says Mick Marden, Vice President of Operations for GCON, Inc. "A marker of distinction for each construction site is the guidelines that display even before entering."

With an average of 75 professionals on site each day, many of these measures were taken even before the mandate and enhanced later in an effort to maintain a proactive approach to the needs of a new construction environment.

"Our approach is bigger than the job site. We're considering families, the comfortability of the spouse, and the overall community," says Marden.

The game changer is that the job site is squeaky clean. Though in stark contrast to how the public may picture an active construction site, those at the forefront understand the imperative to create an environment that workers can confidently continue in as the industry continues to evolve.

ViewTech Borescopes Exhibiting at 2020 NAAA Ag Aviation Expo

TRAVERSE City, Mich. -- ViewTech Borescopes will go back to exhibiting in-person for the first time since COVID-19 halted tradeshows. The 2020 National Agricultural Aviation Association Expo will be taking place December 7 - 10 at the Savannah Convention Center in Savannah, Georgia. ViewTech Senior Sales Consultant, Zach Wessels, will have several VJ-3 video borescopes on display for Ag Aviation Expo attendees, including the VJ-3 dual camera video borescope.

ViewTech Borescopes has been an exhibitor during the world's largest agricultural aviation convention and tradeshow since 2015. During the Ag Aviation Expo, ViewTech has been able to connect with ag pilots, aircraft maintenance technicians, and aerial application businesses.

This year ViewTech will have the following VJ-3 video borescope models available for attendees to trial at NAAA Ag Aviation Expo booth #424: the VJ-3 2.8mm, VJ-3 3.9mm, and VJ-3 6.0mm dual camera.

"Our VJ-3 video borescopes are so intuitive; they get put to use with hardly any learning curve," said Wessels. "The newest video borescope we offer, the VJ-3 dual camera, features both a forward-facing and 90-degree side-view camera. Inspectors will be able to capture images and videos at both camera angles by simply pushing a button."

With a large percentage of ViewTech's clientele based in the aviation and aerospace industries, they are consistently informed that the VJ-3 video borescope performs the heavy lifting for 99% of their clients' inspections, many of which entail viewing inside of critical components. By providing the best borescope option for their budget, ViewTech Borescopes have been saving companies time and money on their preventative maintenance and MRO inspections.

A Pilot’s Powerful Memoir Takes Readers from the Ground to the Sky

SEATTLE, Wash. -- A new memoir, a powerful coming of age tale, is set to release this fall. "Unlearning to Fly: A Memoir of Navigating the Turbulence and Bliss of Growing Up in the Sky" (ISBN: 978-1735641300), gives a detailed account of how the author, Russ Roberts, not only helped blow up his backyard with dynamite, but also shared a Volkswagen with a moose. In the air, Roberts was the youngest licensed flight instructor in America. He flew single-engine airplanes across the Atlantic, and commanded airliners around the world. What happened on the ground was quite another story.

Roberts writes how airplanes were the golden thread that secured an otherwise turbulent start to life. In this heartwarming and often heartbreaking story, he tells how he overcame, and had to unlearn what his dysfunctional parents taught him. The author details the difficulties of growing up with an alcoholic parent and describes overcoming his parents strong, peculiar, and even harmful religious teachings.

Airline pilot, broadcaster, sailor, speaker and now author, Captain Russ Roberts says he is, "Not so much an adventurer as a lifetime collector of experiences and stories."

The book has received several reviews during its pre-publication phase.

Chet Burgess, former CNN, executive producer of Interactive Programming, says, "Russ Roberts is the only person I know who knew exactly what he wanted to be when he grew up, and then realized that dream. 'Unlearning to Fly' serves as a literary metaphor for his, sometimes rocky, relationship with his father. This is a good read."

Joanne Rideout, host and creator of radio's, "The Ship Report," says, "This is truly the only book that I have ever read that describes so clearly what it must be like to sit in the cockpit of an airplane on the runway and at the controls. It was like I was there myself. And take off - the thrill of it, the wonder of it - it made me want to do it too, something I have never thought much about. It was thrilling and made me want to fly."

"Unlearning to Fly: A Memoir of Navigating the Turbulence and Bliss of Growing Up in the Sky" will be available on Amazon, Kindle, and Audible in late November 2020.

For an advance review copy or other media request, contact Russ Roberts from 9-5 p.m. PDT at: 1-434-825-3669.

Rhotheta International Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Civil Air Patrol

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Rhotheta International Inc., a full-service distributor of German-designed radio direction finders (DF), proudly announces the firm's 20th anniversary of providing DF equipment to the United States Civil Air Patrol (CAP).

Radio direction finders are a vital tool for search and rescue (SAR) missions. Utilizing a DF saves valuable time by guiding rescuers directly to the location of emergency beacons used by aviators, mariners and outdoor enthusiasts.

The 80-year-old CAP is the volunteer civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, conducting approximately 90 percent of all inland SAR operations nationwide. Last year, it executed 845 missions, flew 1,158 hours, made 534 finds and saved 117 lives.

Today, more than 450 of CAP's nearly 600 aircraft are equipped with Rhotheta DFs.

"Over the last two decades, Rhotheta International has cultivated a symbiotic relationship with CAP, fusing their extensive SAR operational experience with Rhotheta's engineering expertise," said Ventura Rigol, Rhotheta International's chief executive officer and general manager. "We have a history of listening to their needs and evolving our products accordingly."

Over the years, CAP has extended accolades to Rigol and his organization for "outstanding product and technical support to Civil Air Patrol and its members." In one of its recognition letters, CAP stated, "The performance of these systems has met and exceeded our expectation - some of our members have said the DF 'takes all the fun out of tracking ELTs (emergency locator transmitters)!' - allowing our crews to fly directly to the RF (radio frequency) signal source. No matter what the particular geography is as we fly over all kinds of terrains, the performance and effectiveness of your system has been unquestionable."

Last month, CAP surpassed the 100-lives-saved mark for the fourth consecutive year when it rescued two lost hikers in Wyoming. The availability of small, low-cost personal locator beacons is likely a contributing factor to increases in rescues over the last decade. According to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration statistics, the number of individuals rescued in 2019 was more than double the number just 10 years prior. Rhotheta DFs are a proven, valued tool in CAP's SAR arsenal.

Rhotheta International provides sales engineering, comprehensive service, and product support for customers in North, Central and South America, the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand, China and Israel.
