Designer and TV Personality Cary Weldy Launches New Book: ‘The Power of Tattoos’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Why do some shapes in art increase aggression? Can a sun tattoo create inflammation in the body? What makes black, the most popular color of tattoos and fashion, statistically the worst color to wear for cultivating happiness, attracting love, winning in sports, and achieving success? In his groundbreaking new book, Cary Weldy discusses how the science of art - including the lines, shapes, colors, patterns, and symbology in a single tattoo or art piece on the wall - dramatically changes one's life experience.

From his energy-based approach to art and interior design to his appearances on HGTV, readers familiar with Cary Weldy will appreciate his new offering, in which he speaks to both the tattooed enthusiast and art aficionado. He launched his second book "The Power of Tattoos: Twelve Hidden Energy Secrets of Body Art Every Tattooed Enthusiast Should Know" in paperback worldwide on Aug. 23, 2020, on Amazon.com. Within three days, the book became a #1 new release on Amazon worldwide, as well as in the top-selling 100 books among 50,000 titles on tattoos and fashion globally.

"While working with clients and their art over the past two decades, I noticed something rather startling," says Weldy. "Artwork usually reflects the personal stories of our past. But curiously, our art also creates our future. With tattoos, it is even more profound. The longer we are near a piece of art, the more we go into resonance with the energy and information radiating from the colors, shapes, lines, patterns, and symbology in a single image. The time we are exposed to an image matters."

"In 1889, Oscar Wilde wrote that life imitates art far more than art imitates life," Weldy explains. "As a trained chemical engineer who believes in science, I wanted to put Wilde's theory to the test to find out how our art shapes our lives. For six years, I interviewed dozens of inked enthusiasts all over the world and dug into the research about the science of art. It is true that every piece of art we are around affects us, much like being near a friend. Science confirms that when we are around a happy or sad friend, we begin to resonate with his or her energy. After we absorb it, we become it."

"For example, the most popular color in fashion is black, which is also the top color used to ink tattoos," Weldy says. "Despite its widespread popularity and belief that black is the 'power color,' wearing it has rather devastating consequences. Studies show the color black increases aggression, evokes anxiety and depression, and adversely impacts the immune system. In sports, black is the #1 losing color."

"In nature, however, most living things are rich in vibrant color, and what little in nature that is black usually has a destructive, deadening quality to it - including mold, tooth decay, many cancers, burned wood, volcanic ash, coal, ants, crows, black bears, skunks, frostbite, and decaying meat," Weldy adds. "This color is an energetic black hole that absorbs light, heat, and other energy forms. Simply said, black radiates the energy of destruction and death."

"Red, on the other hand, has been shown to be the winning color, hands down," Weldy explains. "For centuries, Pranic Feng Shui practitioners have observed that the color red has an expansive quality, versus the contracting quality of black that is much like an energy vampire. Red has been shown to make people more attractive, elevate test scores for students, and give sports teams the winning edge. Since 1946, English football teams have won more games than they lost when wearing red, and another study revealed that between 1940 and 2013, the color of NCAA uniforms for the top-performing teams was rarely black. In fact, the winning teams wore red. Global companies, such as McDonald's, Target, and Coca-Cola, successfully use red to create a clear advantage in a competitive marketplace."

In Weldy's new book, readers will also learn:

* The 12 elements of art that change one's destiny, including color, shape, symbolism, proximity to an image, length of exposure, quantity of tattoos, and how widely distributed an image is.

* Which symbols in art can attract success, and which symbols invite negative experiences.

* How some shapes promote harmony, positive emotions, and prosperity, while other shapes such as sharp angles found in many tattoos escalate stress, aggression, and other negative emotions, as research confirms. "These studies explain why getting more than three or four tattoos usually results in increased aggression, anxiety, substance abuse, and other health issues," Weldy says.

Mind Flow Hypnosis Extends Free Virtual Hypnosis Session to Healthcare Workers

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- For first responders and healthcare practitioners seeking relief from COVID-19-induced stress and fear, Mind Flow Hypnosis is answering the call. It's currently offering a free hypnosis session via Zoom or Skype in an effort to do its part to help nurses and other healthcare practitioners during this global pandemic.

Healthcare workers are on the front lines of COVID-19 and anxiety and fear are natural responses. Mind Flow Hypnosis is working with them to navigate and handle these feelings as best it can.

"These online sessions are extremely effective for stress, fear and anxiety - all of which compromise the immune system - and are designed to help people feel more comfortable and safer in their environment," Carmela Tunzi, Mind Flow Hypnosis, says.

Tunzi says she had a recent consult with an ER nurse who was feeling overwhelmed and concerned about a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). She was having difficulty sleeping and keeping a clear head in a time when she needed it most. She was panicked and frustrated all at once.

"I listened very carefully during the consultation," Tunzi says. "I offered a free hypnosis session to her and, via Zoom, we customized a session to bring her relief."

Twenty minutes after the session, this nurse reported she felt as if she had just taken a rejuvenating and much needed nap. She was calm and relaxed. Hypnosis helps to calm the nervous system and the fright/flight response.

"We see the world through images our mind creates and hypnosis is a great tool to combat negative emotions while providing a sense of calm," Tunzi explains. "Mind Flow Hypnosis is here to help."

About Mind Flow Hypnosis

In practice since 2013, Los Angeles-based Mind Flow Hypnosis offers stress release through complete hypnosis programs. Free consultations and customized programs are available. A hypnosis suggestibility test is recommended as results may vary.

Long Island Entrepreneur Leads the Flareology Movement

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. -- Obsessed with sparking change from within, Lesley Nurse found a way to do that and now wants to share her methods with others. She's developed a concept that she's calling "Flareology" and it's designed to help people, primarily women, to claim their power or get it back and make positive changes in their lives.

"Someone once asked me, 'Do you know your power?' I had no idea what he was talking about," Nurse says. "I started thinking about failed and toxic relationships and the absence of a father figure in my life. I was acting out, but not in a way that helped me. In fact, my actions were hurting me. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. It was time for me to claim my power and now that I've found it, I want to inspire other women to do the same. Flareology is all about self-care and healing."

As a young child and adult, Nurse experienced numerous traumatic events that led her to where she is today.

"I had to figure out a way to deal with the pain and to start trusting people," she says. "I had walls up and aggression was a form of protection. I started reading and watching spiritual programs and took pieces of what worked and left other pieces behind. I've put the pieces together and learned how to heal."

The end result is a new online mini-course that coaches and mentors women on how they, too, can leave the past behind while moving towards a better and more empowered future.

The course, "What Is Self-Care? 10 Key Tips to Go from Toxic to Triumphant Living" is especially designed for passionate, driven women who have experienced physical and emotional abuse and are trying to find their way back from the dark.

"It's never too late to heal," Nurse says. "Don't apologize for the past, but don't fall victim to it either. People are often surprised to learn about my past. I walk around with scars, but no one can see them."

Nurse acts as a guide of sorts in this 60-minute online course where she outlines the 10 tips, elaborates on them and then provides multiple suggestions for consideration. The course helps women to ease into self-care with the ultimate goal of achieving peace and balance. It's a confidential environment where women can be in a safe space while healing from bondage. It's an ideal starting point for people who have tried failed options such as therapy. The end of the course provides a gift affirmation that people can carry with them.

"We all have power. I know better now and understand that I have a responsibility to always remember that," Nurse says.

The term "Flareology," sparking change within, came to Nurse after several hours of contemplation and a few double doses of espresso. She examined intentional words and meanings and sought to create a catchy phrase that would make women feel part of a movement. Boom. Flareology - which also gives a shout out to her job as a cocktail server; she loves the word "mixology."

About Lesley Nurse, founder Flareology(TM):

Nurse grew up in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Her family is from Trinidad and Tobago. In addition to leading the Flareology movement, she's also the author of two children's books, "How Sunny Sees It;" and "The Tale of Greedy Reeby." She's a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City and has an evolving fashion line called 7Seven Spark. She says everything she does is to "spark change." She's a self-proclaimed "flareologist" and wants to show others how to earn and own that name too.

BECOMING to Host Inaugural Meditation and Mindfulness Retreat for Individuals Navigating Divorce

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- BECOMING, an organization providing mindfulness and meditation tools and retreats for those navigating major life transitions, announced today the kickoff of the first full-day meditation retreat of its kind for divorcing individuals in South Florida on Saturday May 25, 2019.

BECOMING is the brainchild of Heather Gatley, a professional and mother of four, who found herself in need of guidance when her marriage of 20 years unexpectedly fell apart.

"I had a lawyer but no earthly idea how to navigate the fear, anger, sadness and loss that this trauma represented for my family," says Gatley. "By developing a meditation and mindfulness practice, I was able to make my way through a complicated legal and emotional process and reclaim my life going forward."

There are over 25,000 divorces filed in Dade and Broward County alone each year. And while mindfulness has become in vogue for everything from reducing high blood pressure to increasing corporate productivity, it has not yet found its way into the community of individuals in desperate need of tools to manage the stress and grief that accompany divorce.

"Divorce is traumatic and a time of great transition. It is also a time that presents individuals with the opportunity for powerful, positive transformation. Mindfulness greatly aides in moving towards this positive change," she adds.

BECOMING launched in January this year with a closed Facebook group that quickly grew to 450 members. Registration for the pilot retreat filled up in one afternoon. The retreat attendees will be taught basic meditation and mindfulness techniques and participants will focus on grief, forgiveness, self-care, and managing other difficult emotions. Because divorcing individuals typically face financial insecurity and stress, BECOMING'S full day and multi-day retreats are offered on a sliding scale fee basis.

"I wanted anyone who is stuck in that limbo land of early uncoupling - where your old life is clearly over but the future is impossible to envision - to have the resources and a tribe of support to mindfully determine what they want the rest of their lives to look like."

For information about future BECOMING retreats and events, contact becoming.information@gmail.com or visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/onbecomingllc/

Veteran Author Daralyse Lyons Launches The Transformational Storyteller Podcast

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- In the midst of a thriving writing career, Daralyse Lyons, author of over 20 books, has just embarked on a new journey. On "The Transformational Storyteller" podcast, Daralyse takes the listener into the lives and minds of real people whose stories have the power to captivate and motivate.

"History is full of examples of storytellers making an impact. My hope is to inspire listeners and viewers by exposing them to the real-life experiences of authors, actors, comedians, thought-leaders, spiritual advisors, celebrities, and more," Lyons says. "The stories run the gamut from comedic to tragic, superficial to life-altering, and as you listen and/or watch, you'll find yourself wanting to create your own narratives and improve your life."

"My idea was to create a simple podcast. I'm an avid podcast listener and I wanted to create something in that space. Then, I thought, 'Why have just audio when you can have video too?' So, this particular podcast is also filmed. People can watch or listen, and I love that! Nothing beats a live interview and being able to talk to guests in the studio makes for genuine conversations and, I hope, leads to more connected and engaging stories."

Lyons knows firsthand the transformational power of stories. After eighteen long-term inpatient hospitalizations for eating disorder treatment, Daralyse found healing from anorexia and bulimia by recovering her passion for creativity.

Since then, she has become an author, yogi, speaker, coach, actress, and comedian. She regularly tells her story on podcasts, television, and in print and online media outlets. Daralyse has spoken numerous times at the Renfrew Center, the nation's first residential treatment center and a world-renowned leader in eating disorder intervention. Understanding how just one person's story can change lives has fueled her desire to make sure more stories can be heard.

The audio version of Daralyse Lyons' podcast can be found on iTunes, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Play, PocketCasts and all other major podcasting platforms. The video version can be found on YouTube (First Episode Video: https://youtu.be/Wua5sDXPqhA).
