A R T I C L E:

Smashburger, the nation's fastest growing "better burger" restaurant, brings their fresh approach to burgers to Temple when they open their first location on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 3008 S. 31st Street. Smashburger(R) brings their juicy burgers that are smashed fresh and served delicious, along with its Haagen-Dazs(R) shakes, tempting sides and regional menu items crafted to please local palates to the heart of Temple. This is the first of many Central Texas Smashburgers slated to open over the next five years.

Each Central Texas Smashburger will feature a regional menu created with regional flavors and tastes in mind. The Temple menu includes: The Texas Burger, served with crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, pickles, and red onion, and dressed within yellow mustard. It will also include the Texas Dog, a 100 percent Angus Beef hot dog dressed with pepperjack cheese, creamy guacamole, fresh jalapenos, spicy chipotle sauce, tomato, and onion. As a regional side item, the Temple store will offer fried jalapeno spears with buttermilk ranch dressing.

"Smashburger has a unique spot in the industry," says Smashburger Founder and Chief Concept Officer Tom Ryan. "We have created a union of top-quality ingredients, loving preparation, and friendly service that we hope Temple will agree is unparalleled."

At Smashburger, the secret is in the smash. They start with 100-percent-fresh, never frozen, Certified Angus Beef and smash it on a 400 degree flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the "better burger" experience, they are served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of the freshest produce, real cheeses, and highest-quality condiments.

Smashburger is known for its delicious burgers, but customers can also enjoy a selection of tender marinated grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches, grilled and split hot dogs, and fresh tossed signature salads, along with a variety of irresistible sides including rosemary and garlic-seasoned Smashfries, fried pickles, Haystack Onions, and Veggie Frites (flash-fried and seasoned asparagus spears, carrot sticks and green beans). The restaurant will also serve a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including local beers, wine, hand-spun Haagen-Dazs shakes and IBC(R) root-beer floats in frosted mugs.

"We are thrilled to bring our business to Central Texas, starting in Temple," says David Prokupek, Chairman and CEO of Smashburger. "We believe the Texmash franchise group will be great partners in helping the area come to love the excellent food and service Smashburger offers."

"Temple is an exciting place for us to bring the Smashburger brand," says Manish Agrawal, Managing Partner of Texmash Holdings LLC. "We see Temple as a thriving city with a lot of competitive growth in the fast-casual segment. Residents here have many choices for a high-quality quick meal, but we hope to stand out. Author: Ohio Restaurant Recruiters
Dateline: Cleveland, Ohio (CLEVELAND, Ohio)  | Mon, 07 Nov 2011

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Ohio Restaurant Recruiters - a restaurant manager recruiting firm - announced its launch this week in Ohio and Pennsylvania. While there are many other recruiting firms out there, none quite match up to the features and benefits that Ohio Restaurant Recruiters can provide.”

A R T I C L E:

Ohio Restaurant Recruiters - a restaurant manager recruiting firm - announced its launch this week in Ohio and Pennsylvania. While there are many other recruiting firms out there, none quite match up to the features and benefits that Ohio Restaurant Recruiters can provide.

Through an approach that combines serious tech-savvy and a personal touch, staff at this agency takes the time to arrange for in-person meetings with clients and candidates to ensure that specific needs are met by all parties involved.

"It's important to understand the culture of the business," says Russell Don, owner, Ohio Restaurant Recruiters. "Once we have a good feel for the business climate, we are then able to match the right person for the right restaurant job. We want to make sure that the talent we find is in it for the long term. Our candidates are specifically targeted for our clients' restaurant management needs."

As part of its fresh, innovative approach, Ohio Restaurant Recruiters is introducing several groundbreaking concepts into the restaurant recruiting field. Among them are a full refund should the candidate leave within their first 60 days of employment; and a pre-interview reference check.

Using the latest in recruiting tools - both traditional and technological - allows Ohio Restaurant Recruiters to find that "needle in the haystack." It helps its clients to locate not only active, but also passive job seekers. Clients are typically presented with three to five qualified candidates which saves them time and money.

"We manage our clients' management needs," says Don.

About Ohio Restaurant Recruiters:

Ohio Restaurant Recruiters places restaurant managers in every type of restaurant operation - family style, casual and upscale dining, quick casual, quick serve, hotel and more.

This restaurant manager recruitment business is the brainchild of 30-year veteran restaurateur, Russell Don. He and his team have spent more than two years developing this concept.

Today, Don is a Certified Personnel Consultant and a Certified Temporary Staffing Specialist. These certifications are recognized as the staffing industry's highest standard; they also ensure that all federal, state and local laws as well the National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS) standards of ethical practices are adhered to and that Ohio Restaurant Recruiters maintains its industry credibility at all times. Additionally, it's mandatory for staff to participate in continuing education.

Ohio Restaurant Recruiters is a member of the National Association of Personnel Specialists. It also has numerous other partnerships and affiliations including the Ohio and Pennsylvania Restaurant Associations.

Denver Based Restaurant Consulting Firm Announces the Expansion and Rebranding of its Organization

Author: Restaurant Mechanix, LLC
Dateline: Denver, Colorado (DENVER, Colo.)  | Wed, 26 Oct 2011

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “A new look, new services and a new partner for Culinary Procurement Specialists, LLC has been unveiled. The new company name, Restaurant Mechanix, LLC (the 'Company'), signifies the expansion of its consulting services into all aspects of restaurant operations and management.”

A R T I C L E:

A new look, new services and a new partner for Culinary Procurement Specialists, LLC has been unveiled. The new company name, Restaurant Mechanix, LLC (the "Company"), signifies the expansion of its consulting services into all aspects of restaurant operations and management. This is in addition to supply chain management and food cost reduction.

The Company was also pleased to announce the addition of a new partner at the firm, Darren Minich, an accomplished restaurateur with 20 years experience that includes developing and managing 5 different concepts such as Govnr's Park and Marlowes in Denver. "We have been looking for someone to round out our service offering and Darren brings a unique and impressive background to Restaurant Mechanix," said Tim Taylor, Founder and CEO of the Company.

The Company announced that it is transforming itself into a full service consulting shop for restaurateurs and foodservice entrepreneurs. The Company had focused on reducing food cost through negotiating more favorable distribution and manufacturing agreements for their clients. With these changes, the Company has added operational, sales, marketing, financial and accounting services. This strengthens their service offering and appeals to a wider audience.

The goal of the Company is to transform their clients into "the best in business" in terms of profit, operations and sales. The new name, Restaurant Mechanix, personifies the new expanded organization that provides everything from tune-ups to major overhauls.

Tim Taylor will continue to build on his experience in foodservice distribution and restaurant management by focusing on supply chain management and cost reductions. Jan Skibinski, Co-Founder and CFO, will build on her foodservice distribution, finance, accounting and information systems experience to provide financial and accounting services, analysis and reporting.

According to a 1997 to 2002 study on restaurant failure rates, only 56% of new restaurants make it onto their 4th year of operations. Of those restaurants that fail (44%), there is a 28% chance that they will fail in their first year (*see note 1). Continued increases in food and supply costs for restaurants coupled with the sluggish economy since 2008 were the deciding factors behind the expansion and rebranding of Restaurant Mechanix.

About Restaurant Mechanix, LLC:

Founded in 2007, the Company has historically analyzed and negotiated more favorable contracts for their client's food and supply purchases. They also provide reporting and analysis of the client's purchases along with market trends, so the client can adapt to the changing market. Restaurant Mechanix, LLC builds on this solid business platform and enhances the services offered to the foodservice industry.

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Andaz 5th Avenue, a hotel inspired by the culture of New York City, announces the launch of tbd Art - a rotating art series. A R T I C L E:

Andaz 5th Avenue, a hotel inspired by the culture of New York City, announces the launch of tbd Art - a rotating art series. The first year of rotating art started on October 6th with artist M.Dreeland. In total, the hotel will have four diverse artists; M.Dreeland, Mister Cartoon, Claw Money and a final artist (currently TBD).

Each artist will paint their "View of New York - Today" on the doors leading to the bar downstairs, located on the Fifth Avenue side of Andaz 5th Avenue.

The project is curated by the SA Studios Artist Collective, and art enthusiasts can watch the artists at work and read about their experience by visiting http://andaz5thavenue.tumblr.com .

Artist M.Dreeland began October 6th:

M.Dreeland, utilizes a pop art style that mixes basic acrylics and techniques from the masters with high-tech tools of the present. M.Dreeland is known for presenting commonly recognizable objects in a new light by distorting images through an abundant use of color and layers of thick paint.

"Being precise and exactly up to the edge is not enjoyable," says M.Dreeland. "Those little nicks, smudges, and blobs of paint over clean lines make this work limitless."

M.Dreeland presented his view of New York City on the doors to the bar downstairs at Andaz 5th Avenue. He completed his mural in four days while passersby had the opportunity to view the artist at work on 5th Avenue. M.Dreeland's work is currently featured at the Time Warner Center in NYC and at Art Basel in Miami this December.

Artist Mister Cartoon begins December 12th:

Guests will discover a new side of New York through the eyes of iconic tattoo and graffiti artist Mister Cartoon. Famous for exposing both the "vicious and vulnerable" side of his work, Eminem, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce have entrusted him to permanently expose some of their most intimate moments on their skin.

Mister Cartoon's artwork has also been on prominent display in exhibitions such as MoCA's seminal Art in the Streets exhibit, one of the most in-depth and comprehensive cross-sections of street art to date. Among Cartoon's contributions is his fully muraled ice-cream truck, a breathtaking showpiece that took a decade to complete.

Additionally, as the hotel's Tattoo Artist in Residence, Mister Cartoon will be offering guests his services as a tattoo artist. Anyone who books a room at Andaz 5th Avenue during his two week stay will be able to bypass Mister Cartoon's year long waiting list.

Artist Claudia Gold begins February 12th:

Known as Claw Money, her graffiti alter ego, Gold will combine her eye for fashion with her edgy graffiti style on the doors to the bar downstairs. Claw Money has been tagging the New York City landscape with her iconic Claw tag for the past three decades and has paralleled her street cred into a luxury lifestyle brand. Claudia's line, Claw Money, features clothing, accessories and sunglasses worn by celebs including Rihanna, MIA, and Nicki Minaj.

tbd Artist begins on June 12th:

The fourth mystery artist will create a dynamic piece to conclude the 2011 tbd Art series.

tbd Art's Photographer:

The creation of the murals will be chronicled by photographer Brendan Burke. Brendan's images will be available on http://andaz5thavenue.tumblr.com - which will also feature blog entries from the artists regarding their work and their experiences creating each of their murals. Additionally, each piece of art will be photographed and turned into limited edition post cards sold for $5 each at the bar downstairs. Proceeds will be donated to charity.

"Art is an integral part of Andaz 5th Avenue and we strive to find new ways to support art and design," says Jonathan Frolich, General Manager of Andaz 5th Avenue. "We are delighted to launch tbd Art with such a diverse group of talented artists so that guests and New Yorkers alike can experience a unique view of New York City at Andaz 5th Avenue."

Andaz Salon - Hosted by experts, Attended by locals, All are welcome:

Andaz recently launched a brand wide Andaz Salon series to foster cultural exploration and creativity from art exhibits to culinary emersions, performances by emerging musicians and celebration of the written word. Each Andaz Salon is designed to reflect the local cultural scene. Andaz 5th Avenue's tbd Art program is a part of the Andaz Salon series along with Andaz Wall Street's Impromptu Performance series and Andaz West Hollywood's Art Seen at Andaz series.

Ambrosia Juice Co. Opens Healthful Destination for Fresh-Pressed Juices and Smoothies in Kenosha Area

Author: Ambrosia Juice Co.
Dateline: Kenosha, Wisconsin (KENOSHA, Wis.)  | Mon, 17 Oct 2011

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Ambrosia Juice Co., a purveyor of fresh fruit and vegetable juices and smoothies, has opened a retail location in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. The 1,200-square-foot store at 9901 77th Street, near the new Target on Highway 50 at the Shoppes at Prairie Ridge, is a healthful destination serving flavorful fresh-pressed fruit and vegetable juices; fresh-squeezed orange juice; and smoothies made from whole fruits, juice and ice with a variety of healthful supplemental healthful add-ins available.”

A R T I C L E:

Ambrosia Juice Co., a purveyor of fresh fruit and vegetable juices and smoothies, has opened a retail location in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. The 1,200-square-foot store at 9901 77th Street, near the new Target on Highway 50 at the Shoppes at Prairie Ridge, is a healthful destination serving flavorful fresh-pressed fruit and vegetable juices; fresh-squeezed orange juice; and smoothies made from whole fruits, juice and ice with a variety of healthful supplemental healthful add-ins available.

Ambrosia Juice Co. features fresh brewed coffee and espresso from Alterra Coffee Roasters, a Milwaukee-based coffee company. Other menu items include teas, hot chocolate, steel cut oatmeal, home-made granola; and seasonal items such as hot apple cider and fresh-fruit popsicles. The store will eventually expand its menu to include paninis and a variety of other healthful snacks and drinks, including many vegetarian and vegan friendly items.

Those in the Kenosha area may be familiar with Ambrosia Juice Co. as it's been a regular at the weekly Kenosha HarborMarket for a couple of years. According to Casey Jaronik, Ambrosia Juice Co. owner, "Each week we've been well-received by the people of Kenosha and we witnessed first-hand their interest in fresh, all-natural drinks that taste great."

Jaronik believes her fresh-pressed fruit and vegetable juices, smoothies and other healthful fare will appeal to the growing group of health-conscious customers who have become more aware of what they drink and eat. This profile transcends gender and age, and is more about anyone who is interested in natural foods and beverages and eating in a conscious way. Not surprisingly, Jaronik has received strong interest from two groups in particular - pregnant women and families.

"Naturally, many pregnant women are very concerned about the types of things they're eating and drinking and once you cut out caffeine and unnatural additives, there aren't a lot of options available. And, parents are obviously concerned with giving their kids natural, nutritious products that taste good. Kids see a smoothie as a real treat and parents know that with our product, they're actually getting something that's healthful as well," added Jaronik.

"We believe simple, fresh ingredients make a difference to customers and make a better tasting juice or smoothie. We're really proud that we don't use any pre-made mixes or powders in our products. Each smoothie is made fresh for the customer, and they love that they can see it being made and know exactly what's going into it," said Jaronik. "As more and more Americans are making the move from overly processed, artificial food to more natural whole foods, they need to re-train their palates to appreciate what a fresh peach or fresh strawberry tastes like versus what a food manufacturer tells us it should taste like. We're helping customers rediscover the delicious flavor of real fresh fruit in our juices and smoothies," Jaronik added.

Ambrosia Juice Co. can also help customers who are trying to incorporate more servings of fruits and vegetables into their diets. According to the Produce for Better Health Foundation's Fruits and Vegetables - More Matters(R) program, which challenges Americans to eat more than the previously recommended five servings of fruits and vegetables each day, a serving of 100% fruit juice is equal to a serving of fruit.

"We're all getting the idea that we need more fruits and vegetables in our diet and that even five a day isn't enough. Our customers can feel confident knowing that drinking one of our smoothies or a glass of Ambrosia Juice Co. juice can help them meet this goal. They know they're getting a healthy snack and not a dessert masked as a healthy drink," said Jaronik.

Ambrosia Juice Co. officially celebrated its Grand Opening on October 15. The company donated a portion of its opening day proceeds to the Therapeutic Recreation Program of the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex, which provides recreation and leisure services for youth and adults with disabilities. Also joining in the celebration were fitness experts from the RecPlex who provided fitness tips and exercise demonstrations.

For the store's interior Jaronik received inspiration from successful national and international food and beverage chains, such as Pinkberry and Chipotle. "It's a bit industrial chic with a high, exposed ceiling, and charcoal and black to offset the colors of fresh fruit, giving it a sophisticated yet casual and fun look and feel," said Jaronik.

EPIC Programs Group Introduces Comprehensive Pizza Restaurant and Delivery Operators Insurance Package

Author: Edgewood Partners Insurance Center
Dateline: San Ramon, California (SAN RAMON, Calif.)  | Wed, 28 Sep 2011

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “EPIC Programs Group, a managing underwriter and program administrator providing leading-edge risk management and insurance solutions nationally, announces the launch of their newest program for Pizza Restaurants and Delivery Operators. Dubbed 'SLICE' (safety, loss control, insurance, coverage, expertise).”

A R T I C L E:

EPIC Programs Group, a managing underwriter and program administrator providing leading-edge risk management and insurance solutions nationally, announces the launch of their newest program for Pizza Restaurants and Delivery Operators. Dubbed "SLICE" (safety, loss control, insurance, coverage, expertise), the new program specifically addresses a significant exposure and principle risk management concern of Pizza Delivery Operators: liability resulting from their delivery drivers.

The SLICE program is underwritten by an AM Best rated A (excellent) XII insurance company specializing in auto related exposure and coverage. SLICE focuses on reducing and mitigating these exposures through required delivery driver training and education and a proprietary kit of customized risk management tools.

In addition, SLICE offers the following benefits to pizza delivery operators and the agents/brokers who serve them:

* Protection designed specifically for pizza restaurant owners and delivery operators
* Comprehensive, bundled package protection with strong underwriting, loss control and dedicated claims administration - including 24/7 claims reporting
* Coverage offered in most states - admitted paper in 40 states and growing
* Can bind coverage for any effective date - no common program anniversary date
* In-house underwriting.

"We are extremely excited to introduce the SLICE program," said Seth Madnick, managing principal of EPIC Programs Group. "As agents and brokers who work extensively in the pizza business know only too well, the insurance marketplace for pizza restaurant operators - particularly deliver operations - is currently in a state of flux, limiting the coverage options they can present to their clients. SLICE is the right answer at the right time for agents and brokers who work with a significant number of pizza delivery clients."

Author: Celebration Media U.S.
Dateline: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (VANCOUVER, B.C.)  | Tue, 14 Jun 2011

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “For the second consecutive year, Federico's Supper Club has earned the CMUS Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Award with a 4-star rating in the restaurants category. The award, presented by Talk of the Town News, Customer Care News magazine and Celebration Media U.S.”

A R T I C L E:

For the second consecutive year, Federico's Supper Club has earned the CMUS Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Award with a 4-star rating in the restaurants category. The award, presented by Talk of the Town News, Customer Care News magazine and Celebration Media U.S. (CMUS), honors companies and professionals that provide excellent customer service as reported by their customers through no-cost, user-review websites, blogs, social networks, business rating services, and other honors and accolades.

This data is analyzed by a team of researchers who calculate a company's CMUS Power Rating™. Only those that receive a 4-star to 5-star rating receive the CMUS Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Award.

Serving the Vancouver area for more than a decade, Federico's Supper Club was established with the intent of reviving the days of dine and dance. Since then it has evolved into much more with authentic Italian cuisine, live music and entertainment ranging from comedy to international dance performances. "Our goal is to 'transport' guests with our style of cuisine, the retrospective music and the 'feel good' atmosphere of the supper club, which not many competitors can boast," says Brunella Gaudio, general manager of Federico's Supper Club.

Gaudio says there is something for everyone at Federico's Supper Club - a factor that distinguishes it from other dining, live music or entertainment venues in Vancouver. "It is a 'family' brand, and the intent is to offer guests an experience unlike anything in the city."

In addition to receiving the Talk of the Town Award for two straight years, Federico's Supper Club's success has most recently been recognized by The Italian Chamber of Commerce, which presented the restaurant with "The Italian Quality Seal Certification," a designation presented to restaurants around the world for excellence in authenticity, creativity and use of traditional ingredients in Italian cuisine. To date, only three restaurants in Vancouver have received this honor.

There are several key elements that have led Federico's Supper Club to earn such high customer satisfaction marks. The team behind the restaurant, which includes Owner and Showman Federico Fuoco, Executive Chef Romy Prasad, Sommelier and Service Manager Joe Borean, and General Manager Brunella Gaudio, is dedicated to serving customers and providing an excellent experience. "'Welcoming hospitality' is a key element of our service - consistent with the open-arm attitude toward guests in the Italian culture," says Gaudio. "The service we provide is based on the passion we have for what we do. From the kitchen to the front-end to the musicians and performers, the management team seeks to meet expectations and fulfill a unique vision, which has led to the achievement of the Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Award."

Federico's Supper Club is located at 1728 Commercial Dr. in Vancouver. For more information about the restaurant and upcoming events, call 604-251-3473 or go online at www.federicossupperclub.com .

Andaz Wall Street Re-Launches Farmer’s Market May 7th – Local Farmers and Purveyors Take Center Stage in Downtown Outdoor Weekly Market

Author: Andaz Wall Street
Dateline: New York, New York (NEW YORK, N.Y.)  | Wed, 13 Apr 2011

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Andaz Wall Street, the only hotel situated on Wall Street and the first Andaz property in Manhattan, announces today the return of their seasonal outdoor farmer's market; from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Wednesday starting May 7, 2011.”

A R T I C L E:

Andaz Wall Street, the only hotel situated on Wall Street and the first Andaz property in Manhattan, announces today the return of their seasonal outdoor farmer's market. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Wednesday starting May 7, 2011, hotel guests as well as the general public can visit the Andaz Wall Street Plaza near Wall & Water streets and shop from local farms as well as sample food from the hotel's Wall & Water restaurant.

True to Wall & Water's roots, the farmer's market will be featuring items from local Hudson Valley farms and markets including fruits and vegetables from Migliorelli Farm, poultry and game from Quattro's, jams and chutneys from Beth's Farm Kitchen, cheese and other dairy products from Farm Catskills, artisanal soaps from Ash Hopper and artisan breads from Orwasher Bakery.

Also this season, Andaz Wall Street has partnered with Down Home Acres and will be the first hotel in New York City to sponsor a community supported agriculture farm (CSA). CSA is a relationship of mutual support and commitment between a local farm and community members. Members pay a seasonal fee upfront to receive a weekly supply of fresh produce, which varies in content according to the season. Each week from the beginning of mid-June till the end of October participants will receive an assortment of seasonal vegetables and/or herbs from Down Home Acres' gardens. NYC members can pick up their share at the Andaz Wall Street Farmer's Market on Wednesdays.

"We pride ourselves on being close to our community and a part of the downtown neighborhood," says Andaz Wall Street General Manager Toni Hinterstoisser. "It is a great pleasure to bring back the Andaz Wall Street Farmer's Market which was a huge success last year among neighbors and visiting hotel guests alike."

Most of the farmer's market suppliers stock the hotel's Wall & Water restaurant with their farm-fresh ingredients. So in case shoppers need advice on how to prepare items bought at the market, Wall & Water's Executive Chef Maximo Lopez May has lined up bi-monthly cooking classes in the restaurant's open kitchen. Guests learn firsthand how to cook Chef Lopez May's simple but elegant market to table comfort food.

The Andaz Wall Street farmer's market will continue every Saturday and Wednesday through November 2011. For more information, please visit www.wallstreet.andaz.com or call 212-590-1234.
