Brazilian Flat Track League organizes online race for 2020

SOROCABA, SP, Brazil -- It's not a secret that Covid-19 had 2020 pretty much canceled all over, affecting some of the major events in the USA and abroad, but has also brought people together and fired up new ways for connecting and exchanging ideas, says the Brazilian Flat Track League.

In Brazil, the two biggest custom motorcycle shows - the BMS (Brasil Motorcycle Show) and the Lucky Friends Rodeo - had to be canceled, and with it, the races for the recently created Brazilian Flat Track League. Or, so we thought.

In an effort to not let the sport lose momentum, the Brazilian Flat Track League, the organizers from BMS, and Lucky Friends Rodeo got together to keep the competition going and fire up the teams and racers with an online event that promises to bring the excitement of the race to the audience's screens: the "On Track."

On November 1, 2020, at 1 p.m. (ET/EST), flat track fans worldwide will be able to tune in online and watch "On Track," the first Brazilian flat track race event to be offered online. Viewers will get a taste of how the sport is creating roots among racers and motorcycle enthusiasts in Brazil.

To broadcast the event, the Brazilian FT League will use the platform http://netshow.me/.

Anybody can sign up to watch the race for free, but numbers are limited, so the organizers recommend the public to sign up as soon as possible using the link https://videos.netshow.me/t/rNl0-BRe9ls/form (there is an English option for singing up at the bottom of the page).

"Everything changed. People are finding new ways to work, to support their favorite restaurants and bars, to be together in general. So why not bring the adrenaline of flat track racing right to the safety of their homes?" says Cezinha Mocelin, founder of BMS Motorcycle. "With an online event, not only are we still making sure the sport keeps growing in Brazil, but we are also guaranteeing the safety of the fans, the racers, and all the team members."

The "On Track" organizers are following all WHO (World Health Organization) recommendations for the participants of the race: health check booths and Covid-19 tests for racers, team members, and production crew, and lots of masks. The race will happen in Sorocaba, SP - Brazil.

Flat Track in Brazil

Flat track races are relatively new in Brazil. The category started to gain popular attention in 2016, at the Lucky Friends Rodeo event, and then with the BMS Motorcycle. With more of a roots appeal and an underground vibe, it quickly gathered momentum among the motorcycle community and the custom culture fans.

In 2019, it became an official race class in the country with the creation of the Brazilian Flat Track League and its first season of official competitions. The League has not only pushed the popularity further, with more media coverage, sponsors, sanctioned events but also gave flat track racing legitimacy in Brazil.

By the beginning of 2020, flat track season in Brazil was shaping up to be the greatest yet, starting in March when a group of nine racers and 12 people from Brazil came to the US for the weekend of FlatOutFriday and Mama Tried, in Milwaukee - Wisconsin.

"Even though the event didn't happen as expected, the time our group had in Milwaukee was crucial for Brazilian flat track. It allowed us to connect even more with other teams and with industry players. We did the best we could under the circumstances at the time, and in the end, we came back to Brazil with a lot accomplished," says Chrys Miranda, Brazilian racer and one of the founding members of the Brazilian Flat Track League.

One of the most significant announcements once "OnTrack" was confirmed, was the addition of the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 Flat Track class to the race; besides the traditional H-D Sportster and the H-D Antique hardtail classes.

BMS Motorcycle and Lucky Friends Rodeo

The collaboration between BMS and Lucky Friends Rodeo isn't new. Combining lifestyle, custom culture, attractions like the only Wall of Death in South America, music, art, bike building exhibits, and, of course, races, both events bring together over 20 thousand fans.

"Nothing better than combining our forces to bring to our public and to the fans of Flat Track a new experience. We are preparing a great event, so the audience will be able to feel all the adrenaline from the race straight from their homes", said Flavio Sieber, founder of Lucky Friends Rodeo.

AAA Flag & Banner Hits Home Run with Online Ordering Portals for Sports Teams

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- AAA Flag & Banner, the company that made headlines with its quick and innovative solution for filling empty Major League Baseball stadiums with cardboard cutout fans, has elevated its service to the next level with the rollout of custom online ordering portals for teams across the country. Their new end-to-end solution allows fans of professional, collegiate and high school sports teams to conveniently upload their image, while also managing the ordering, production and venue installation process.

Capable of developing cutouts for both stadium-style and bleacher seating to accommodate any venue, the cutting-edge solution developed by AAA Flag & Banner's internal software development team has already been implemented by a number of NFL & MLS teams nationwide, including the San Francisco 49ers and Inter Miami CF. The service is also being adapted by several SEC, Big 12, & ACC universities for their Fall football seasons, and AAA Flag & Banner is poised to support schools in other conferences, as they respectively return to competition in the near future.

"For many years, we've been helping professional and collegiate sports teams deliver amazing, immersive experiences to their fans," said Craig Furst, President & CEO of AAA Flag & Banner.

"Now that audiences have been temporarily taken out of the game, we're pleased to offer teams this comprehensive solution so their loyal fans can feel like they're still part of the action."

Each custom online ordering portal is thoughtfully branded for the sports team to maintain consistency with the rest of their marketing campaign, and to provide a fully-integrated experience for fans. Once an order is placed and a fan uploads their image, an immediate notification is sent to AAA Flag & Banner for production. The company then handles image quality control, printing and venue installation of the fan cutouts.

AAA Flag & Banner is a company synonymous with bringing sporting events to life, with its high-quality design, printing and installation of large-scale signage and graphics. With its start-to-finish project management model, the company's flexible and fluid culture immediately positioned them as the leading provider of stadium cutouts in quick response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As sports teams across the country sought solutions to minimize the visual impact of empty stadiums and keep fans engaged, AAA Flag & Banner responded with a creative way to solve both problems simultaneously.

A5 Volleyball Club to Open New State-of-the-Art Sportsplex Facility – Millions in Revenue for Alpharetta / Roswell Expected

ATLANTA, Ga. -- At a time when many youth club sports clubs are struggling or shutting down as a consequence of the national pandemic, one metro-Atlanta based club, A5 Volleyball Club, is boldly expanding, offering more world class opportunities for athletes to train and compete.

Thousands of athletes and families train with A5 making it one of the largest youth club volleyball organizations in the country. A5 recognizes that, now more than ever, kids need outlets to exercise and connect with friends through playing sports.

This facility expansion has been in the works for some time and came together in January when a deal was made with the Andretti family to take over their vacant facility on Alpharetta Hwy in Roswell. The transformation of the 70,000-square foot space has energized the youth volleyball community that was devastated when the 2019-20 season was suspended in March.

Club founder Bob Westbrook said, "We believe this move into our new facility will prove to be a transformative event for the youth volleyball community in Atlanta as well as the Southeast. We are blessed to have this opportunity."

The A5 Sportsplex will be home to A5 Volleyball Club with the capacity to offer 40+ competitive and regional teams, leagues, and adult play as well as individual volleyball training. The venue will also serve as a volleyball tournament destination hosting teams, regionally, from Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, and nationally as well. Youth sports generated 15 Billion dollars last year in the US as Volleyball continues to be one of the fastest growing sports for young men and women in the country.

The regional and national growth of this business has the potential to bring in millions of dollars to the local economy. On any given weekend during the competitive club volleyball season, tens of thousands of players and their families travel to tournaments. A5's new facility is poised to become a sought-after tournament destination, drawing players and families from all over the country to stay in hotels, frequenting restaurants and shops in the metro Atlanta area.

Inside the A5 Sportsplex, there are 13 Taraflex courts including an actual Olympic court from the 2016 Rio Olympic games positioned as Center Court. Spectators will enjoy a mezzanine view of all courts as well as having the benefit of bleacher seating on the floor. Five outdoor sand volleyball courts are planned for construction in Fall 2020. These courts will support and take advantage of the tremendous growth in outdoor Beach Volleyball occurring world-wide. A5's on-site Pro Shop will offer a full line of volleyball apparel, equipment, and accessories. Additionally, the venue has ample parking to accommodate players, families, and fans. Independent restaurant and gaming vendors are planning to occupy additional space in the facility as well helping provide a full-service experience for visitors.

In their new home, A5 will offer elite training year-round as well as competitive teams for athletes of all ages (girls and boys) from beginner to experienced levels. A5 has been making waves in the competitive club volleyball world since its beginning in 2004. Today, there are about 4,500 active clubs in the country. A5 is currently ranked #2 in the country, having earned more bids to the USAV National Championship tournament than any other club nationwide over the last seven years. In 2020, three A5 coaches earned the prestigious "Coach of the Year" award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). This is a record number of coach-of-the- year winners in the history of this award.

A5 Volleyball is moving forward with resilience and renewed vision for the future while remaining true to their mission: Teaching life lessons through the sport of volleyball. Organized sports are a healthy and integral part of youth development. A5's investment in the local community reflects their commitment to being part of a positive solution, critical to the world we now inhabit.

KINONA launches Queen of the Green, a unique VIP Program designed to inspire and uplift

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Queen of the Green, a VIP program developed by women's golf fashion brand KINONA, aims to reward loyal customers while giving back to women-led causes.

Women's fashion trailblazer KINONA started from humble beginnings. Dianne Celuch and Tami Fujii were used to being the only women golfers at corporate events. But they didn't want to dress like the men they saw on the green, and together dreamed up a women's golf fashion brand that featured chic patterns, sustainable materials, and comfortable fits.

Developing their VIP program, Queen of the Green, was a lifelong dream for the brand. It intersected with their passion for supporting causes that uplift and inspire women in their communities and around the world. And as the women's golf community has supported them, Fujii and Celuch are ready to start supporting their community.

"We don't just want to give customers points," said Fujii. "We want to wow them. We want to honor them. We want them to feel like the Queens they are."

The program features a points system where customers earn 1 point for every $1 they spend during the calendar year. Shoppers qualify after reaching 800 points, and rewards include exclusive events, early access to new releases, and the opportunity to direct a $100 donation to a non-profit organization that helps women achieve more in sports and in life.

"We're proud to bring women together and do something great for the community at the same time," explained Celuch.

Teacher Bodybuilder Suits Up in Bikini as ‘Queen Of Swords’ for Ms. Health and Fitness Title

TULSA, Okla. -- Judy Stetson, widow, teacher, bodybuilder, and contestant for Ms. Health and Fitness 2020 suits up in a bikini to ride the wave of pandemic changes throughout the Fall school season. The teacher battled memories of 911 emergency calls and widespread stress syndrome from the COVID crisis that took the life of her adult former student.

A lucky lady will take home the title Ms. Health and Fitness 2020 and the cover of Muscle and Fitness Hers magazine. The public chooses the winner by votes open until October 8. Ms. Health and Fitness competition donates to the charitable organization Homes for Wounded Warriors that provides assistance to disabled veterans by building or remodeling handicap accessible homes

Millions brace for August Back to School facing uncertainty amidst a pandemic. Many parents plan to spend less on apparel and more on technology. As our nation continues to respond to COVID, September's National Preparedness Month prods: "Disasters Don't Wait. Make Your Plan Today." Plan ahead in case of further waves of COVID during flu season or if a spike in cases triggers another school lockdown. October's Family Health Month reminds parents to reinforce habits that keep children healthy.

Stetson says, "I'm the widow and sister of two deceased veterans. Emergency responders rushed to our house eight times in one year. We lived in constant crisis. I took up weightlifting, so I'd be able to lift my disabled husband four times a day."

She took home an issue of Muscle and Fitness Hers and looked at the photos and stories of strong, beautiful women.

"The thought of them as sisters and day after day in the gym getting stronger helped me emerge from a cocoon of despair," Stetson said. "I'd dry my tears, grit my teeth, 'alright girl, soldier up.' I had to get my husband fed, his meds, lifted from bed, get to the bathroom, hosed him down in the shower, bathed, shaved, a fresh diaper, and dressed daily."

Stetson explained why it is important to support Homes for Wounded Warriors during a pandemic crisis, "Wouldn't it be wonderful not to feel so isolated? You could be a part of something beautiful that transforms the day-to-day life of a loved one confined at home."

"Wouldn't it be amazing to remodel any bathroom with handicap accessible features so an invalid can bathe safely and easily?" she asked.

As a teacher, Stetson fell into what she calls "the grey area of not poor enough to qualify for assistance." There was no money to remodel their home, medical bills piling up to $110,000, and her earnings going to pay for nursing care.

"We lived in what I consider now as medical poverty. I was on a treadmill of a hot mess," said Stetson. "As I got stronger, I felt more like Wonder Woman - even when I hit myself upside the head with nunchucks. I show and tell my students to make fitness a fun adventure full of twists and turns. I'm such a newbie to social media, but even a teacher must ride the wave, learn new ways to communicate."

Stetson, a self-professed sci-fi nerd, picks up a "Star Wars" inspired lightsaber. The once-upon-a-time Miss Valentine pageant queen twirls the sword and lunges forward, "I manifest Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson to appear with me inside Muscle and Fitness magazine," she sends out her dream to the Universe. "I visualize $110,000 as if by magic. Earth angels join me and shine the light for Homes for Wounded Warriors."

Stetson sweeps the sword through the air with her red, white & blue star-spangled wish. Swoosh! Public support for the first English teacher to win Ms. Health and Fitness 2020 VOTE by contestant first name.

Molly Quinn Named First CEO of Blind Athletes Association

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) today announced that sports marketing professional Molly Quinn has been appointed chief executive officer of the 44-year-old organization that provides sports opportunities for blind and visually impaired individuals of all ages and abilities, including at the international Paralympic level.

Quinn is USABA's first CEO, which until now has been led by an executive director position.

"Molly is uniquely qualified to take USABA to the next level, with her high-energy passion, past successful work outcomes, and proven abilities to provide transformative leadership," said Dr. Michael Bina, USABA chairman of the board. "We are grateful to executive director Mark Lucas for establishing the national Goalball Center of Excellence and earning our highly respected reputation within the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic movement, the International Blind Sports Federation, and national blindness organizations."

Executive Director Lucas will report to the CEO.

Prior to the CEO appointment, Quinn served as Vice President, Fitness and Endurance Partnerships, for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Among her successes was re-inventing the charity's largest fundraising event, substantially elevating the participation and revenue in the St. Jude Memphis Marathon.

Throughout her career, Quinn has established executive level contacts and relationships across sports agencies, brands, national governing bodies, and non-profits.

"I am honored to serve as USABA's first CEO. I'm confident we can be a bigger part of empowering people to live and grow through sport and I'm ready to lead our mission to do just that," said Quinn.

Matt Simpson, a Rio 2016 Paralympic Games silver medalist and USABA board athlete representative, stated, "Speaking for all of our goalball athletes and members, I am extremely excited to welcome Molly. We are all incredibly grateful for the staff leadership that has brought USABA to where it is today and are optimistic about our future opportunities for blind U.S. athletes, including on the international stage at Tokyo 2020 and beyond."

Prodigy Search conducted the broad-scale recruitment process for the new hire. Quinn assumes the CEO appointment on Aug. 3.
