Hiatt brings nearly fifteen years of executive experience in youth soccer, most recently serving as COO for U.S. Youth Soccer (USYS). Prior to his time at the national office, Hiatt served for over a decade as CEO of Utah Youth Soccer (UYSA), during which time he led the organization to year over year membership and revenue growth resulting in a 60% player increase between 2008 and 2019.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Oregonians have a longstanding and beloved winter tradition of Plunging into the frigid Columbia waters and even some icy cold pools every February to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Oregon. Donning their wildest costumes and swimming attire, more than 1,500 brave (some might say crazy) supporters across Oregon would have been preparing to take the Polar Plunge next month.

In a normal year, the Plunge would take place in 5 locations throughout the State (Portland, Eugene, Corvallis, Bend and So. Oregon/Medford). However, nothing about the last year has been normal. With safety of the athletes and Plunge participants as a priority, we won't be gathering to Plunge together in 2021. Instead, the 2021 Polar Plunge is going virtual across Oregon to continue to support athletes during a time when we cannot in-person events.

Recreating the craziness and magic of Polar Plunge in a virtual landscape might seem like a stretch. However, Special Olympics Oregon has created a choose your own adventure for this year's event and a full lineup of virtual challenges and fun to engage our community throughout "Freezin' February." Plungers can choose to Hit the Great Outdoors and Plunge down the slopes, go sledding, have a snowball fight or make a snow angel in a swimsuit.

They can also opt to Chill at Home and take a cold Plunge in the shower or bath, kiddie pool, or get doused with a sprinkler, water balloons or hose! Those not wanting to brave the cold can choose to run in the Polar 5K/10K or just hibernate by donating to Special Olympics Oregon. This year it's not important HOW you Plunge, it's just important THAT you Plunge.

Location is no longer a barrier to joining the fun, as anyone from across the state can join the Virtual Polar Plunge!

The entire month of February will be packed with fun themes, challenges and events to connect with others in the Polar Plunge and Special Olympics communities, and the chance to win swag and prizes.

PLANO, Texas -- After a record first quarter for Stack Sports, the novel coronavirus took the United States by storm - closing schools, halting sports, and even shutting down whole communities. With over 95% of athletes nationwide impacted in some way, Americans looked to find the way forward. Companies like Stack Sports looked to act quickly to help serve their more than 20 thousand Partners in the sports community, representing over 8 million families.

"It all starts with the local club and the families that participate. We knew we had to act quickly to find ways to serve them, without knowing what that might look like at the time," said Jeff Brunsberg, Chief Revenue and Strategy Officer at Stack Sports. "All we could say for sure was that we were going to do what it took to make sure that sports organizations knew they had a committed Partner when they needed it most."

Stack Sports immediately took action, first by listening to its Partners to find ways to serve them. Next came the launch of Miles4My Community, a virtual event that raised money for sports organizations. At the same time, the teams at Sports Connect, which serves clubs and leagues through participation growth software, were busy innovating in the product. And while the live aspect of sports is so important it's not the only place where innovation was apparent this year. Two other Stack Sports groups were busy connecting people virtually. The Skyhawks created more virtual camp opportunities for families than any other group in the country, while CaptainU ramped up its assistance for universities to be the top facilitator for remote recruiting.

"CaptainU and the team have helped me build the first-ever boys (soccer) team and during a pandemic! Right when this started I knew who I had to call so we could start to strategize," said Shawn Hall, Lincoln Trail College Men's & Women's Soccer Coach. "Being stuck indoors means online all the time and they give me the staff and tools for the job."

Above all else, though, Stack Sports stayed focused on service and innovation. They were committed to being there when organizations were ready to return to play, and where things have been slower, they continue to support the community in any way possible. A great example of that is the collaboration with the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association and FOX to create an uplifting series of commercials that incorporated videos of athletes training indoors. The series encouraged athletes to stay safe and let them know that when they were ready, the game would be there for them.

Area Code Baseball Partners with Prep Baseball Report on Innovative Event Series

PLANO, Texas -- Area Code Baseball, a Stack Sports Experience, has partnered with Prep Baseball Report to offer more athletes an opportunity to learn, compete and showcase their abilities through the Area Code ID Series. The platform, which is set to kick off in December, was built in part to help fill the void in the recruiting and evaluation process that was created by the COVID-19 pandemic while offering athletes the unique opportunity to learn what it takes to play at the next level directly from professional scouts.

The Area Code ID Series, powered by Prep Baseball Report, will be the first step on the journey to competing in baseball's premier summer showcase, the Area Code Baseball Games. Select participants from the ID Series will be invited to compete at Area Code Tryouts in the summer of 2021.

The event curriculum is designed to allow athletes the opportunity to put their talents on display and to find areas to improve their game through real-time feedback and instruction from the pro scouts in attendance. Athletes will participate in a position-specific curriculum with position players taking part in a pro-style workout & pitchers throwing bullpens. In addition to receiving feedback from the MLB scouts on hand, swing & pitch analysis will be captured by our partners, Blast Motion & Trackman, and shared with the more than 900 colleges and scouts who currently subscribe to Prep Baseball Report. Athletes will also receive free access to their Trackman and Blast portal, with the ability to share data directly with colleges.
