EPIC Launches New Employee Benefits Consulting Labor Practice Led by Kimberly Cicero in DC

Cicero will be based in the Washington, D.C. Metro area reporting to EPIC's Duluth, Ga. office and Steve Needle, Managing Principal Employer Services, Southeast Region.

In her new role, Cicero will have responsibility for the development and oversight of a Taft-Hartley business practice which will focus on meeting the unique benefit and consulting needs of Trust Funds.

Cicero joins EPIC from Cigna Healthcare where she spent the past 12 years serving Taft-Hartley and Federal Business clients and their membership. While at Cigna, she managed the segment's Southeast region as well as a large Federal Business segment.

Cicero spent the first 16 years of her career with two third-party administrators, Carday Associates, Inc. and Zenith-American Solutions, working in all aspects of Taft-Hartley trust fund administration. Here she earned her strong, positive labor reputation by understanding the distinct needs of trust funds; and most importantly, serving the membership they represent.

Kevin Harnetiaux Joins EPIC Insurance Brokers in Sacramento CA

Harnetiaux spent most of his earlier career at The Hartford, in a wide range of increasingly responsible positions, culminating in Senior Vice President and Division Executive, managing commercial business operations across Hartford's thirteen state Western Division, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington State.

Before joining the firm, Powell served as vice president of ERISA compliance for MBM Advisors, where he was responsible for drafting, restating and amending over 300 qualified retirement plans and managing the firm's staff of compliance consultants. He brought with him seven years of experience advising on plan design, administration, compliance, nondiscrimination, disclosure requirements and mergers and acquisitions.

Powell graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance and management from the University of Houston and later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center. While in law school, Kenneth served as a senior articles editor for the Houston Business and Taw Law Journal and was one of four students to participate in a national negotiations competition through the American Bar Association Law Student Division.
