The Real J Israel Releases ‘No Pressure’ EP – Continues to Build Fan Base

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Real J Israel announces a new EP release, "No Pressure," that includes previously-released singles, "Damn Good Man," "Freaky Tonight" and four other tunes that are sure to excite listeners. Israel's model is to give people music that they can feel. He holistically appeals to the senses and his team developed a sound that blurs the lines between soul, R&B and other innovative styles.

Israel's music sets the bar high. It's original and the production value is noteworthy.

"What I love about this EP is that Israel went all in," Andrew Caccese, a music blogger, says. "He's the kind of artist who spares no expense in consistently delivering a quality production to his audience. As a result, he's quickly expanding his fan base."

His charisma and unique approach to melodic songwriting also contribute to his ability to make new fans with every release. The songs have rich melodic layers and the beat is direct and engaging, perfectly capturing the music's intensity.

Overall, "No Pressure" is well balanced and there are subtle nuances that emerge with every tune. The beginning sets the mood, allowing the audience to enjoy a fully immersive listening experience. It keeps them connected to the general vibe that The Real J Israel works to achieve. Somewhere in between the depth of the modern scene and the punch of old-school warmth, this EP is a heavy hitter.

"The Real J Israel really nailed every second of it," Andrew Caccese says.

While this album is designed for a large and diverse audience, it will specifically appeal to those who enjoy the works from The Weeknd, D'Angelo and Stevie Wonder.

The EP will be available August 31, 2020.

Soul Singer-Songwriter KEA MICHAELS Presents Debut Music Video for Poignant Ballad ‘I Love You’

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- One inspired night in 2015, singer/songwriter Kea Michaels sat down to write a poem like a lullaby entitled "I Love You" for one of her daughters...heartfelt prose enriched with motherly adoration. She later turned that poem into a song thinking about an older daughter that had been battling, since birth, kidney hydronephrosis. KEA thought she was about to lose her to the debilitating disorder.

When the opportunity presented itself, KEA recorded "I Love You" and independently released it to the world on July 28, 2017 as her debut single. Produced by acclaimed musician Dwayne Fulton, Minister of Music at Mount Ararat Baptist Church in KEA's hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, "I Love You" garnered both local and some national internet radio attention plus profound international support the BBC and Radiovolna.

Now, just in time for the winter holidays of 2018, KEA is releasing a deeply touching state-of-the-art music video for her blossoming message song of devotion. Shot in high definition 4K, "I Love You" is a richly detailed lifestyle video about a woman choosing her daughter's love over the weak promises of a non-committal man.

Torn from the pages of her own life and love struggles, the song's video storyline was inspired by the years KEA placed romance on the backburner to laser focus on her daughter's wellness -- shifting from medicinal to holistic treatments, specialists, surgeries, procedures, diets, supplements and lifestyle programs...all the while clinging to hope and faith.

"My purpose is to be an inspiration of hope and change by using real life experiences to relay a message," says KEA. "However not all messages have great endings, because some are good and others may be difficult."

"I Love You" the video was directed and edited by Deon Smalley (Smalley Films) from a treatment written by KEA who also cast the clip plus handled all of the production and costume design (yes, where appropriate, her wardrobe is stellar and stylish). It was important to KEA to have key locations around Pittsburgh serve as backdrops, including Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall, Airbnb Historic Day House and Dorsey's Records shop.

Most poignantly, KEA and her two real life daughters Auhneyah (6) and Alyssa (16) [playing one child over a 10-year span], solidifying the intimate single parent family portrait of unshakable love between a mother and daughter. It is KEA's hope that song and video touch hearts and minds around the globe.

Kea Michaels ("KEA") is a Soul singer traversing today's Urban Adult Contemporary (UAC) broadcast terrain. Growing up in Pittsburgh a creatives chameleon of poetry and books, as well as a sketch artist, her love for singing blossomed following piano and vocal training from Elayne Kitay as well as at the local Jazz Workshop.

Using her stage name KEA, she has been singing locally since 2009 at events and venues such as the Channel 11 News Holiday Parade, Stars at Riverview Jazz Series, The Birthright of Pittsburgh, Explore East Liberty 2018 Wine Festival, the Harambe Black Arts Festival, the Christine Fréchard Gallery, and the Carnegie Arts Initiative (Jazz On 3rd).

"I Love You" is the debut single/video of KEA from a 6-song EP entitled "Relationships," slated for release in 2019. A second single is being prepared for spring in advance of the EP.

Their writer Howard Dukes praised, "Phillip Brandon's The Story Begins reveals that he is an artist not content to be contained by beats and tracks. Listeners will be richly rewarded by Brandon's determination to remain true to his story and where it has led him."

Phillip Brandon is a proud graduate of Morehouse College and Venice High School who leapt into an enviable career as a singer and actor in musical theater staples such as the Broadway national tour of "The Color Purple," Hong Kong Disney's "The Lion King" &, more recently, BeBe Winans biographical hit "Born For This." ’70s Soul Singer The Natural Four’s Chris Bell Pens Revealing Memoir ‘Music Saved My Life’

ATLANTA, Ga. -- A good old school love song can take you on a journey and incite the resurgence of memories long gone. The 1973 hit "Can This Be Real" is a prime example. The melody was a Top 40 break through on the R&B charts and The Natural Four were the singular force behind the hit. Ollan Christoper Bell, better known at Chris James, knows first-hand about song-induced travels. The Natural Four was his group and in his newly released memoirs "Music Saved My Life, From Darkness Into The Light, My Life As A 70's R&B/Soul Singer" (ISBN: 978-0998795003) he takes us on an intimate trek through his life and times.

The Natural Four originally formed in 1967 in Oakland, Calif. and started receiving notoriety in the early '70's after signing to Curtis Mayfield's label, Curtom Records. To date, Mayfield is still one of the most influential creators behind soul music. The group reigned under the production of Leroy Hutson, the former lead singer of R&B vocal group, The Impressions. From 1972 to 1976 the Natural Four toured the United States and appeared at major venues including the Apollo Theater. They also appeared on numerous top TV shows including Soul Train and American Bandstand.

After releasing a string of hits inside of three albums, The Natural Four called it quits in the mid '70's.

In "Music Saved My Life," James takes us back to his early days growing up in Oakland. He started his music career at the age of 10 playing the bass guitar and at the age of 12 he performed his first singing solo. His musical background originated in the church and from his mother, who was also a professional singer. With poignant detail, James recollects how music has been his lifesaver from childhood into adulthood.

The reader travels with him through a dysfunctional childhood with an abusive and controlling mother. His turbulent relationship with his mother unfortunately set the precedent for countless encounters with bullies throughout his life, including his first wife of over 20 years. "Music Saved My Love" recalls a life riddled with regrets while seemingly filled with career successes.

James has performed and shared the stage with legendary artists such as Earth, Wind and Fire, The Temptations, Kool and the Gang, the Isley Brothers and his former producer Curtis Mayfield. With more than 200 songs composed and distributed on various albums throughout the world, his discography is more than impressive. However, the man behind the music seldom knew inner peace. Life on the road in the '70's was riddled with drama, drugs and busted dreams, while life at home reflected much of the same.

Today, James is happily married to Zakiya Hooker, the daughter of the late great blues icon, John Lee Hooker. In addition to producing all five of Zakiya's albums, he also produced the final John Lee Hooker CD "Face to Face." In addition, James is also the president and co-owner of the John Lee Hooker Boom Boom Recording Studio in Douglasville, Georgia.

"Music has been the salve for my tormented soul," offers James. "It has been a lifesaver and redeemer for me. As a veteran of the music business, I watch young artists today and recognize the telltale signs that betray that all is not well. Having survived five decades in the industry, and still being sustained by doing what I love, I'm hoping that my book will give hope and credence to not only artists, but anyone in need of healing.

"When I look back on my life, I never would have dreamed of the peace and happiness that was just waiting for me. So many of my contemporaries are no longer here. Music is one of God's ultimate healers and I have a testimony to prove it."

James now finds himself touring around the world and spending most of his time in South America, with a home base in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he has become a well-recognized recording and performing artist. His smooth vocals still reflect the warm timbre, control and range that resonates throughout the catalogue of the Natural Four as he trains and produces singers from Paris, Japan, England, South America and the U.S.

His last project was a compilation of jazz standards entitled, "Tenderly, Unplugged."

"Music Saved My Life, From Darkness Into The Light, My Life As A 70's R&B/Soul Singer" takes the reader between the notes as Chris James navigates his troubles while rubbing shoulders with some of R&B's greatest legends, including Curtis Mayfield, Sly Stone and Isaac Hayes.

Austin, Texas Based Internet Program MICHAUX TV Represents The Retro-fied Future of Live Music Television

AUSTIN, Texas -- Soul singer, songwriter, recording engineer, producer and learned music enthusiast Michaux (pronounced "me-show") is in the midst of launching an intimate and engaging new live music show called "MICHAUX TV." Inspired by Hall & Oates lead singer Daryl Hall's successful TV program "Live from Daryl's House" emanating out of Philadelphia, Austin, Texas-based "MICHAUX TV" presents a platform for living room-like live performance coupled with thoughtful conversation that flows very much like breaking bread over a stone soul kitchen table.

"MICHAUX TV is a vibrant and much-needed artist showcase that shifts the focus of discovering new music from deceiving music videos and studio-tweaked tracks to real deal live presentation in a colorful throwback setting." -- A. Scott Galloway, Music Journalist; Album Liner Notes: Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Bill Withers, Donny Hathaway.

Every three weeks on Friday afternoons, "MICHAUX TV" features performances by Michaux and his band, as well as performances by a special guest ranging from local Austin sensations to unique musicians from around the globe. Also featuring lovely host/co-producer Arlana Clopton, the program educates as it entertains - always steeped in the authenticity and history of culture-rich Soul Music - past and present. When watching "MICHAUX TV," time stops and transports you back to the golden era of PBS-derived music shows such Ellis Haizlip's deeply missed "Soul," "Soundstage" and, to some kindred extent, "Austin City Limits."

Austin-native Michaux is a "retro throwback authenticist" - a proud white soul singer obsessed and entrenched in the depth, sense of purpose and sensual vibrations of Soul Music at its '60s / '70s peak, laid down by masters such as Al Green, Curtis Mayfield and, his favorite, Marvin Gaye.

Raised up in church singing in a soul-inspired style, Michaux has recorded two acclaimed CDs: his self-penned debut "Just MichauX" and his follow-up tribute to Gaye, "What's Going On ... Still ... " -- which Marvin's widow, Janis Gaye, highly praised as "an album done with respect, love, honor and integrity." That vibe also informs "MICHAUX TV."

Michaux muses, "When Soul, Funk and R&B music came alive in the '60s and '70s, they transcended perceived racial and cultural divides, bringing people together through the power of the greatest music ever written, recorded and performed. Our goal is to perpetuate the original vibe of that music, and its messages of love, unity and harmony, with a fanatical focus on high quality video and sonics."

"MICHAUX TV" is free to see from the comfort of your home on your computer or TV or on-the-go on your laptop, smart phone or tablet - any Internet video streaming device via YouTube or Facebook.
