SAN ANTONIO, Texas /Neotrope News Network/ — Financial Foundation Group (FFG) started their year with some familiar athletes as they volunteered in this year’s Special Olympics Basketball Competition. This is the third athletic competition FFG – San Antonio has been a part of within the last two quarters. Nearly 200 local athletes competed in this year’s basketball competition that was held February 19th and 20th at the Jimmy Brought Fitness Center located on the Fort Sam Houston Army Base.

“It was fun to re-connect with athletes and their families from past competitions,” said Delia Rios, Supervisor and Community Service Organizer. “We were able to bring a handful of new representatives of the Financial Foundation Group so they could be part of our commitment to the community.”

The opening ceremony was held at 9:30 a.m. followed by the competition. Each athlete was able to compete in a dribbling, passing and shooting event. Awards were presented the following day and a number of familiar athletes were once again crowned top competitors.
