TeamF1, Inc., the leader in embedded networking and security software solutions for wired and wireless applications and a Fremont, California business for more than a decade, continues its tradition of community involvement this year by sponsoring the city of Fremont's programs benefiting local youth and families. The company's local outreach initiative, which it calls "F1rstHand," invests in activities that lend a hand to deserving local causes.

"We are delighted to have TeamF1 as a Gold Sponsor this year as our efforts in developing community facilities and programs continue to grow and get used by many, many more of our residents and visitors," said Lance Scheetz, Fremont Parks and Rec Revenue Manager. "The realization of our many activities such as Kids and Kites, Concert at the Park, and all our classes through community support and sponsorship adds to Fremont residents' quality of life."

TeamF1's support of the city's Parks and Recreation's many summer programs as a Gold Sponsor enables children from low-income families to participate in classes and activities for free, including activities at the City of Fremont's Aqua Adventure Waterpark, which opened its doors for the 2013 season only a few weeks ago.

Fremont's Parks and Recreation Department is a not-for-profit organization offering programs, facilities, event and party planning and even catering, that make the city one of the best places to live in the San Francisco bay area. Keen on the community's current needs, the Parks and Recreation Department launched a scholarship program which underwrites the costs for low income families' admission to various classes for the youth.

Requests for such scholarships have increased substantially over the past few years according to Scheetz, and now, classes such as swimming, art, dance, computer skills and more are made available through these scholarships. One hundred percent of donations received by the department are directed to low income families needing support to enroll their children in these programs.

"We are committed to not just seeking excellence in our technical field, but also to setting a new standard in business citizenship," said Mukesh Lulla, president, TeamF1, Inc. "We plan to expand our community outreach efforts with increased collaboration with local organizations, and contribute to or sponsor a wide-range of community endeavors each year, in pursuit of a what we refer to as a 'good-for-nothing' goal - bringing about good while expecting nothing in return."

Rica Ortiz, Operations Manager of TeamF1 explained, "TeamF1 has enjoyed its Fremont home for many years due in no small part to the City of Fremont's pursuit of programs promoting an active and healthy living, such as those run by its Parks and Recreation organization. We are very grateful for the opportunity to be associated with its programs and contribute to making these resources accessible to everyone in our community, most especially our youth, regardless of their financial position."

Course descriptions and easy online registration information are available on the Parks and Recreation's site at https://www.regerec.com/Start/Start.asp and more information on the city's Aqua Adventure Fremont Water Park can be found at http://www.goaquaadventure.com/ .

Victory Packaging Feeds 33 Regions: Nation’s Largest Packaging Distributor Opens Its Doors for Massive Food Drive

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Move For Hunger announces that from April 1-15, 2013, Victory Packaging is holding its First Annual Victory Cup Nationwide Food Drive. As the largest packaging material distributor in North America, Victory has offices in 24 states across the country. A R T I C L E:

Move For Hunger announces that from April 1-15, 2013, Victory Packaging is holding its First Annual Victory Cup Nationwide Food Drive. As the largest packaging material distributor in North America, Victory has offices in 24 states across the country.

For two weeks, these offices will compete to see which can donate the largest amount of non-perishable food items to its local food bank. At the conclusion of the food drive, Victory will reward the winning office with a special prize.

According to recent studies, 1 in 6 Americans struggle to afford food, and 17 million American children go to bed hungry every night. In recent years, emergency food kitchens in major American cities have reported an increased demand for aid. In the past year, nearly all of these emergency kitchens have had to both reduce the portion size of their meals and turn people away without offering help. With the economic forecast uncertain, it is more than a remote possibility that these conditions will worsen and more hungry people will be turned away.

Federal food assistance programs go a long way, but they are not enough to solve the problem on their own. Responsible businesses like Victory Packaging are indispensable in supporting their communities, and the economic and social value of their generous contributions cannot be understated.

Adam Lowy, Executive Director of Move For Hunger, offers his praise: "Many companies help us in the fight against hunger, but Victory Packaging is going above and beyond. By putting the full weight of their company behind this food drive, they prove that helping their neighbors is not just their concern, but a core part of who they are."

About Move For Hunger:

Move For Hunger is a non-profit organization that works with relocation companies across North America to pick up unwanted, unopened food from those who are relocating and deliver it to local food banks. To date, Move For Hunger is working with over 500 movers in 47 states and has collected more than 1,280,000 pounds of food. Neotrope Extends Deadline for 2013 JL Simmons Non-Profit PR Grants for Worthy Causes

Author: Neotrope
Dateline: Torrance, California (TORRANCE, Calif.)  | Fri, 15 Feb 2013

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Neotrope CEO Christopher L. Simmons today announced a two week extension to today's deadline for worthy causes to apply for the company's annual Non-Profit PR Grants for 2013; the new deadline will be Feb. 28 at close of business. This year, 10 U.S. based charitable non-profits will receive in-kind grants totaling $50,000.”

A R T I C L E:

Neotrope CEO Christopher L. Simmons today announced a two week extension to today's deadline for worthy causes to apply for the company's annual Non-Profit PR Grants for 2013; the new deadline will be Feb. 28 at close of business. This year, 10 U.S. based charitable non-profits will receive in-kind grants totaling $50,000.

"Due to the November elections and then 'superstorm' Sandy, we got a late start in promoting the grants this year," said Simmons, a member of ASCAP and the PRSA, and a working public relations pro since 1981. "In fact, some folks only learned about this year's program last week, due to the time delay in newsletters and other media reporting on the program this year. We've gotten more applications this week than the entire month of January."

For 2013, Ten U.S. based charitable non-profits will receive in-kind grants totaling $50,000, including public relations, news dissemination and online marketing services, as part of the company's 30th anniversary.

The "Non-Profit PR Grants" program was originally launched in 2000 to help assist U.S. 501(c)3 worthy causes to raise awareness, attract halo sponsors, and better connect with donors and volunteers.

Starting this year, the Grant has been named after the company co-founder, the late Dr. J.L. Simmons, PhD, who passed away in 2003, ten years ago. Henceforth the Neotrope PR Grants will be known as the "J.L. Simmons Non-Profit PR Grant" in his memory.

Each 2013 PR Grant recipient chosen from qualified applicants will receive free news distribution through Send2Press(R) Newswire, as well as free run-of-site advertising across the Neotrope News Network for 12 months (through March 2014); the combined value of in-kind services is approximately $4,500+ per recipient.

Neotrope has been honored to help many worthy causes, including Camp Blue Skies, Children Awaiting Parents, Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, Girls Write Now, Move for Hunger, Pacific Pinball Museum, The Bob Moog Foundation, Starlight Children's Foundation, and dozens more.

More information about the grants, and a simple online application, can be found at: http://prgrants.com/ . There is no entry fee, no reciprocal branding requirements or any other "shenanigans" often found with less altruistic programs.

About Neotrope:

Neotrope(R), established January 1983 in California, USA, is a family-owned small business specializing in brand identity, advertising, marketing, SEO, content development and public relations (PR). The creative team includes accredited PR pros (including PRSA members), working journalists, published authors, musicians, and other contributing talents. Neotrope was an Inc. 5000 listed company in 2009, and has an A+ rating with the BBB.

News distribution services will be provided by Send2Press(R) Newswire, a service of Neotrope.

PCM of California Employees Raise $16,230 to Support those in Need this Holiday Season

Author: Professional Community Management of California, Inc.
Dateline: Lake Forest, California (LAKE FOREST, Calif.)  | Mon, 26 Nov 2012

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Donny Disbro, chief executive officer of PCM of California, Inc. (PCM), an Associa company, announced today that company employees raised more than $16,230 during a series of charitable fundraisers over the past several weeks.”

A R T I C L E:

Donny Disbro, chief executive officer of PCM of California, Inc. (PCM), an Associa company, announced today that company employees raised more than $16,230 during a series of charitable fundraisers over the past several weeks.

"I'm honored to work with such truly caring employees," said Disbro. "In today's uncertain economic climate, every single one of us knows someone who is struggling to make ends meet. To be able to come together as a team and make a difference in the lives of our neighbors is incredibly gratifying."

Since 1998, PCM has raised nearly $500,000 for Orange County United Way during its annual employee fundraising campaigns. This year's efforts generated more than $10,130 towards United Way's efforts to improve the lives of Orange County residents.

"We're grateful to partner with the employees of PCM in our effort to improve the lives of Orange County's residents, said Max Gardner, CEO of Orange County United Way. "Along with their generous financial contributions, the efforts of PCM employees help raise awareness about the critical needs of so many living on the edge of poverty throughout Orange County. We thank them for joining us in this effort."

Along with supporting Orange County United Way, the PCM employees fundraising efforts support the work of Associa Cares, comprised of volunteer Associa staff members working at the local and national levels to aid in the raising of financial resources and administer those resources to people in need as a result of natural and man-made disasters.

During the first of these employee-driven fundraising efforts, dubbed "Halloween Daze @ PCM," employees took part in several Halloween-related activities geared toward raising funds for United Way and Associa Cares. This included pumpkin carving and costume contests to popular games such as eye spy and bingo as well as two silent auctions.

"This week-long celebration offers employees a fun and festive way to make a difference in the community," explained Catherine Laster, member of PCM's fundraising campaign team. "Many of our employees have seen first-hand the impacts of job losses and other financial difficulties in the communities they serve, as well as the tragedy that's unfolded in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. They are very motivated to make a difference in the lives of those who are suffering."

PCM raised additional funds for AssociaCares during their annual PAC fundraising event held November 13 at the Woodbury Recreation Center in Irvine.

"We felt it was important to do everything we could to support those in our community who may be lacking basic resources like food and shelter," said Wendy Bucknum, Government and Public Affairs Manager for PCM-managed Laguna Woods Village and Associa PAC chair. "We're pleased that we could come together and help make a difference."

A R T I C L E:

Kids with medical needs feel better and get better with tender loving care. So do older family members with disabilities. But human TLC is seldom handy 24/7. That's where a warm, fuzzy toy animal can make a difference. On Monday, November 12, 250 of them are being donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities(R) (RMHC(R)) of Greater Las Vegas by LTC Financial Partners, LLC (LTCFP), one of America's largest and most experienced long-term care insurance agencies. Sixteen of the toys are lifelike robotic cats capable of responding to a child's movements.

"The idea is to help kids on the mend as well as grandma, grandpa, mom or dad, who may also need a little cheering up," says Denise Gott, LTCFP's National Sales Manager. "We chose Ronald McDonald House as the ideal recipient to distribute the gifts, because of their focus on bringing families together during a child's medical emergency."

A sampling of the cuddly toys have been on display at the LTCFP booth at the Tenth National Long Term Care Insurance Producers Summit, November 10-12, 2012, at the Las Vegas Tropicana Hotel. On November 12, the toys are being taken to Ronald McDonald House for later distribution to families traveling to Las Vegas with a child needing care.

During the conference, long-term care expert and spokesperson Dr. Marion Somers (known as "Dr. Marion" on radio, TV and in the press) has been on hand to answer questions and explain the therapeutic effects toy animals can have on people of all ages. Dr. Marion is also scheduled to appear on Las Vegas television Monday morning.

The gifting event takes place during "Long-Term Care Awareness Month," which is November each year.

About LTCFP:

LTCFP - http://www.ltcfp.com - is a proud supporter of the "3 in 4 Need More" campaign: http://www.3in4needmore.com/ . "The PCM team is always ready to demonstrate their dedication and commitment to Aliso Viejo," said Donny Disbro, chief executive officer of PCM. "We're thrilled to be part of this event that brings people together in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere."

"Participating in the Relay for Life is one more way in which they contribute to the community," said current Association President Bill Conley. "PCM's support and willingness to join in this effort speaks highly of their desire to join in and be part of Aliso Viejo's close knit family."

The AVCA/PCM team will join former Association President Ross Chun and Eco-Stride on July 28 and July 29, 2012 to help raise money to fight cancer and preserve the environment. The event will take place at Grand Park located at Grand Avenue and City Lights Drive in Aliso Viejo, CA. For more information, please visit http://www.relayforlife.org/.

In addition to PCM and AVCA, Eco-Stride LLC works with community partners such as The Surfrider Foundation, Transition Aliso Viejo, Savannah's Organic Ranch, The Laguna Canyon Foundation, Aliso Viejo Patch and Cox Communications to make the Aliso Viejo Relay For Life a more sustainable event. This year, Eco-Stride created the Eco-Stride Hydration Station, a booth at the event where attendees and participants can fill reusable water bottles donated by Aliso Viejo Patch, instead of bringing single-use plastic bottles to Grand Park.

All year long, community events spread awareness, support worthy causes, and unfortunately, create unnecessary plastic waste. Eco-Stride and its community partners urge Relay For Life participants to Keep Plastic Out Of The Park, and fill their water bottles at the Eco-Stride Hydration Station.

"I have participated in the Aliso Viejo Relay For Life for many years, but this year is particularly significant, because this year my family has been touched by this terrible disease," said Ross Chun, Founder and CEO of Eco-Stride. "This year, we're walking for my sister-in-law Teresa, and we're working to keep plastics out of the environment by refilling water bottles for everyone who participates."

PCM Field Services and Lake Forest Community Association to Help Family in Need

Author: Professional Community Management of California, Inc.
Dateline: Lake Forest, California (LAKE FOREST, Calif.)  | Tue, 17 Jul 2012

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Professional Community Management of California, Inc. (PCM) announced today that its Field Services Division will assist the Lake Forest Community Association's Community Spirit Team to conduct free home repairs for a family that has experienced tragedy and is in need of help to stay in compliance with HOA rules.”

A R T I C L E:

Professional Community Management of California, Inc. (PCM) announced today that its Field Services Division will assist the Lake Forest Community Association's Community Spirit Team to conduct free home repairs for a family that has experienced tragedy and is in need of help to stay in compliance with HOA rules. On Friday, July 20, they will begin work on the home of Luann Johnson, a resident of Lake Forest who lives with her son, Colin, 23 and daughter, Taylor, 20.

For this homeowner trouble came in "threes." First came the devastating loss of her 25-year old son; a huge eucalyptus tree then crashed through her backyard fence; and third, Riley, her three year-old granddaughter was diagnosed with a rare form of melanoma. After dealing with all the end-of life costs for her son, and trying to arrange for health care for her granddaughter, Johnson was financially and emotionally unable to handle home repairs that put her in noncompliance with the association rules.

"When I spoke with Luann, her son's funeral expenses and her granddaughter's uninsured medical care had depleted her savings," said Kim Back, Community Relations Manager at Lake Forest Community Association. "Even though she was a proud, self-sufficient woman, she needed the good news that her neighbors and community management company were ready to step in, so she does not feel so alone on this journey."

As a private care nurse, Johnson visits patients throughout Orange County and Los Angeles. She has been a Lake Forest resident since 2001, where she raised her three children.

"It's ironic that the Lake Forest Community Spirit Team is now coming into my home and completing much needed repairs," she said. "My family and I are overwhelmed with gratitude. My son, Colin said to me, 'Mom, this is the kind of thing you see happen to other people on TV!'"

The Lake Forest Community Association's Community Spirit Team was formed in April 2012 to assist homeowners who received home repair correction notices from the Hearing Committee. Each case is determined by financial hardship and in June, the team completed their first project at the home of Patrice Munday.

"PCM takes such pride in the dedication and initiative taken by the Lake Forest Community Association and the on-site management team," said Donny Disbro, chief executive officer of PCM. "Each home owner is a member of the PCM family and we're here to take care of individuals like Luann who has had more than her share of tragedy."

The team has secured generous donations and sponsorships from the association board of directors, PCM Field Services, Home Depot Lake Forest, Park West Landscape, Waste Management, Behr Paints, Saddleback Signs, Cannata Construction, Drymaster Restoration, McGervey Painting, First Class Windows and the Lake Forest Garden Club.

Johnson gets emotional when she thinks of the Community Spirit Team preparing to start work on her home.

"My late son was the one who would come over and fix things," she said. "I know he's watching over me and smiling."

To contact the Lake Forest Community Spirit Team or contribute to the fund, please contact Kim Back, Community Relations Manager at 949-837-6100, or kback@pcminternet.com.

Professional Community Management of California, Inc. continues to add charitable organizations to its roster of philanthropic endeavors. Most recently, the company sponsored Second Harvest Food Bank, the International Energy Alliance, Savannah's Organic Ranch Golf Tournament at the Aliso Viejo Country Club, Home Aid Orange County, Boys & Girls Club of Capistrano Valley and the Lake Forest Community Association's Community Spirit Team.

"Our corporate philanthropy policy takes a hands-on approach," said Donny Disbro, chief executive officer of PCM. "We not only grant sponsorships and donations to organizations, but we also support our employees and homeowner associations in their efforts to collect food, supplies and other important resources for our communities."

Employee-driven philanthropy, such as the annual Associa Cares/United Way campaign not only benefits the community but also boosts morale.

"There's a lot of great energy around the office when staff takes on a worthy cause," Disbro said. "We support these efforts with funding and in some cases, we grant paid time to send our employees out to serve the community."

A few weeks ago, Disbro announced PCM's commitment to an ongoing donation to the Lake Forest Community Association's Community Spirit Team. The team identifies homes that are in disrepair and helps homeowners with a demonstrated need for financial assistance. Their first project was the home of Lake Forest resident, Patrice Munday. Munday and her daughter regularly volunteer to find lost pets in the neighborhood.

"I've lived here for 11 years and this is home for me and my children," Munday said. "I don't think I'd live anywhere else."

Ultimately, PCM's goal is to help homeowners love where they live.

"My hope is that when a homeowner learns that their community management company has supported a local charity or event, they feel that we are a good neighbor and we're here for them," Disbro said.

PCM TACKLES HUNGER: June 18-29 Food Drive to Support Second Harvest Food Bank, Community’s Hungry

Author: Professional Community Management of California, Inc.
Dateline: Lake Forest, California (LAKE FOREST, Calif.)  | Tue, 19 Jun 2012

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Professional Community Management of California is sponsoring an employee food drive June 18-29, 2012 to support Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County's efforts to eliminate hunger in the local community.”

A R T I C L E:

Professional Community Management of California is sponsoring an employee food drive June 18-29, 2012 to support Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County's efforts to eliminate hunger in the local community.

During the food drive, PCM employees are encouraged to drop off non-perishable items such as canned goods, dry food, or even personal care items at bins at the Laguna Woods Village Community Center and the Warehouse.

"Many in Orange County have fallen on hard times recently and are having a difficult time making ends meet, including residents right here in Laguna Woods Village," explained Donny Disbro, chief executive officer of Professional Community Management. "At PCM, we place a high value in giving back to the local community and are pleased we can partner with such a tremendous organization like Second Harvest Food Bank to address the needs of those at-risk of hunger right here in our community."

An estimated 615,000 Orange County residents are at risk of going to bed hungry in Orange County. Children and seniors make up 50% of that number, many of whom see their only meal at a free or reduced lunch program.

Second Harvest, through their nearly 500 member partner charities, provides meals to nearly 240,000 individuals each and every month. Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County provides bi-monthly supplemental groceries to low-income seniors through the Florence Sylvester Senior Center, which serves many seniors in the Laguna Woods Village Community.

"We appreciate the employees of PCM and their efforts to fight hunger in our community," said Nicole Suydam, chief executive officer of Second Harvest Food Bank. "Nearly one in five Orange County seniors struggle to put adequate food on the table."

PCM employees look forward to the opportunity to help Laguna Woods Residents in need.

"Our employees are so committed to making a difference and addressing these critical needs in our community," said Jerry Storage, general manager of PCM, Inc. Laguna Woods Village. "My hope is that we can do more as a company each year to support the charities that help our communities thrive."
