International Document Services (IDS), a mortgage document preparation vendor, raised more than $6,000 for Atlanta Habitat for Humanity during the IDS Cycling Challenge at the Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA) 97th Annual Convention & Expo in Atlanta. IDS staff members, partners and conference attendees pedaled for a combined total of 202.06 miles over two days.

Volunteer riders included Chet Destefano, head of national retail sales for Capital One; Paul Harris, vice president of sales from Interthinx and Kerri Milam, principal at Depth Public Relations. In addition, several IDS customers and partners made contributions that will go to the Atlanta Habitat affiliate, including Del Mar DataTrac, Churchill Mortgage and Depth Public Relations.

"As a cycling enthusiast, I was excited to combine my love of riding with philanthropy to support a charity like Atlanta Habitat for Humanity that brings shelter to people in need. The IDS team all stepped up and took their turn riding the bike. It was a great way to lead by example," said Paul Harris of Interthinx.

"This generous support from IDS will help us continue to provide green, quality, affordable housing for working families in Atlanta," said Larrie Del Martin, president and CEO, Atlanta Habitat. "We have had enormous opportunities to make a difference in our city, and we are grateful to IDS and its customers and partners who contributed to this mission. They keep us going."

"Sponsoring this type of event at our MBA conference exhibit was something very new to us, but overall, we think it was a success. The Docs in Motion cycling theme is very close to our hearts, as it speaks to both our corporate philosophy and our personal interests. IT Consulting Firm Southeast Computer Solutions Will Donate a Portion of Sales to United Way of Miami this Fall in Recognition of ‘National Preparedness Month’

Author: Southeast Computer Solutions
Dateline: Miami, Florida (MIAMI, Fla.)  | Thu, 02 Sep 2010

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “MIAMI, Fla. -- Southeast Computer Solutions, a Miami based IT consulting and business software firm, announced today it will donate $100 for every new purchase of its Disaster Recovery Services (through October 31, 2010) to United Way Miami in recognition of National Preparedness Month.”

A R T I C L E:

Southeast Computer Solutions, a Miami based IT consulting and business software firm, announced today it will donate $100 for every new purchase of its Disaster Recovery Services (through October 31, 2010) to United Way Miami in recognition of "National Preparedness Month."

With hurricane season in full swing, Southeast Computer Solutions hopes its appeal to the charitable nature of south Florida businesses will help lessen the economic harm done by hurricanes every year. "The financial impact to small and mid-sized businesses after a hurricane is sobering," says Ralph Ceccarelli, Vice President of Southeast Computer Solutions.

"Based on some estimates we have seen, up to 60 percent of businesses that experience downtime greater than 48 hours will be closed within three years. And what's unfortunate is that kind of economic devastation to businesses can be prevented with relative ease."

The IT consulting firm recommends having a disaster recovery plan for not only natural disasters like hurricanes but also fires, hardware failures, data theft and deliberate sabotage by disgruntled workers.

Ceccarelli says: "Because a 'disaster' can come in many forms, we always recommend a risk analysis to determine what areas pose the greatest risk. Based on identified risks, a business continuity plan can be created and preventative measures established to prevent, or minimize, potential damage."

Southeast Computer Solutions plans to contribute all proceeds to United Way of Miami's "Operation Prepare and Share" campaign, which notes on its Web site that 33 percent of south Floridians have no disaster plan. With only 339 donations made to date, Ceccarelli hopes his company can do its part to make "disasters" a little more manageable for all involved. Donations to Operation Prepare and Share can be made online at: http://www.unitedwaymiami.org .

About Southeast Computer Solutions:

Southeast Computer Solutions has been an IT consulting firm and Sage Authorized Reseller since 1985. Headquartered in Miami, Southeast has offices in Dallas and Buenos Aires. With over 600 installations across the United States and in Latin America, Southeast Computer Solutions is the largest Sage Reseller in Miami and was ranked 75 on the 2010 VAR 100 list. TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 23 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- 2009 was a landmark year for the Financial Foundation Group. Even though the economy and the stock market have hit many hard, the Financial Foundation Group has been diligent about providing assistance to those in need. A combined effort of our country's great U.S. Marine Corps, as well as many excited members of the Tampa office, created the opportunity for FFG to give back to the community that supports it by hosting a Holiday brunch and Toys for Tots collection event on December 12, 2009.

Instead of enjoying a well deserved day off on the weekend, the staff of Financial Foundation Group in Tampa dressed up the office in holiday trimmings, provided festive foods and entertainment, and opened its doors to the community for its first annual toy drive.

"We want to have a positive impact on the community both as professionals and as neighbors," said Leanna Cappucci, Executive Director with the Financial Foundation Group. "Supporting the U.S. Marines and the community through our toy drive is about much more than toys, it provides hope and encouragement to children here in Tampa, and after all, they are our tomorrow."

The mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is to assist the U.S. Marine Corps in providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas. The primary goal of the Foundation is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them into becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

The Marines, together with the help of organizations like the Financial Foundation Group, are helping less fortunate children throughout communities across the U.S. experience the joy of Christmas, and are playing an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable resources - our children.

In 2002, the Financial Foundation Group through an affiliated company opened its doors with just three people. FFG has experienced a phenomenal growth rate over the past few years and today they have grown to have 5 offices and approximately 100 people affiliated with the organization.

"Our company has grown tremendously due to our dedication to helping others," Mr. Heinzelman, a Senior Partner at Financial Foundation Group explains. "We want continue our community involvement in every area where we have an office."

FORT COLLINS, Colo., Jan. 5 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The Fort Collins branch of the Financial Foundation Group, also known as FFG, had a humbling experience on Friday, December 5th, 2008. Employees of the Financial Foundation Group met at the Fort Collins Salvation Army off College Street and Drake Street instead of going into the office. The day consisted of sorting and organizing donated holiday packages in order to help create a little brighter holiday season for less fortunate families.

FFG"It was truly humbling to see just how great the need is for holiday gifts this time of year and it really moves your heart to see how many caring people came together to make sure parents have the chance to provide for their families," Aryn B. Goldman, Executive Director of FFG says. "Volunteering at the Salvation Army allowed the reps at our branch to help families with even more than life insurance, college saving strategies or retirement savings. It was an overall rewarding experience."

William Booth started the Salvation Army in 1865. Booth was a London minister who decided to bring his message to the public to reach those who were hungry, poor and homeless. The Salvation Army has grown throughout the entire world. Many services were created to aid immeasurable amounts of people, including The Salvation Army mission hospital, food depot, women's social work and more. Today the Salvation Army is stronger than ever before. Currently, the Salvation Army is in over 106 nations worldwide and provides efforts where they are needed most.

Not only has FFG as a whole experienced significant growth from its roots in 2002, the Fort Collins branch is expanding as well.

"FFG is a company with a lot of energy and momentum to move forward even in turbulent times. The company as a whole has created an atmosphere of positive, people-oriented services," comments Ms. Goldman.
