Verdeco Recycling Announces New Indiana Manufacturing Location

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Verdeco Recycling Midwest today announced a new Indiana recycling manufacturing plant to be located in the Vigo County Industrial Park I, Terre Haute, Indiana. Building modifications are nearly complete with plant start-up anticipated to be June 2016, with full employment by late summer.

Verdeco Recycling is the industry leader in the manufacturing of FDA-approved PET resins using a proprietary "state-of-the-art" processing technology. With this modern manufacturing plant, the company's national U.S. footprint will widen. Utilizing all new manufacturing extrusion equipment and conveying systems, this is the company's second U.S. plant, with the first facility in South Gate, California, near Los Angeles, operating since 2012. Additional plants and expansions are planned.

"It has been an exciting process to come to this point," says Alex Ofer, the President of Verdeco Recycling Midwest. "Our expansion into The Hoosier State represents yet another milestone in the growth of Verdeco Recycling. The Terre Haute plant will allow us to better serve the needs of our existing clients while also bringing new companies to the Verdeco Recycling family of customers."

The company's expansion into the central Indiana region is expected to bring over 29 new jobs to the area (can grow with the plant capacity expansion). By locating in Terre Haute, Indiana, the new facility will be in close proximity to the greater Indianapolis region, which is positioned near four U.S. interstates, allowing convenient service to Midwestern markets. The new manufacturing plant and skilled local workforce will enable Verdeco Recycling to further solidify its longstanding reputation of providing product of the highest quality to its customers.

Terre Haute/Vigo County leaders, guided by Steve Witt of the Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation, enabled a seamless integration of Verdeco Recycling Midwest into the Terre Haute area. Likewise, Indiana Economic Development Corporation representatives did a superb job in leading the company through the site selection process. Terre Haute-based Garmong Construction, along with other local contractors are being used for all electrical, mechanical installation and construction services, and have been reliable partners performing to the highest standards.

"Verdeco Recycling is investing substantial capital to bring the plant up to the highest reliability, quality, and cleanliness standards, thus further enhancing our 'state-of-the-art' technology," notes Rick Blakeslee, Verdeco's project manager. "This endeavor will give the company a U.S. capacity totaling over 100 million pounds annually. By reducing shipping costs and increasing the company's capacity and reach across the region and U.S., Verdeco Recycling will effectively amplify distribution in a cost-effective, eco-friendly manner."

SAG7 Features a Human Band Fronted by a Virtual Singer

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- It is rare when something unique appears on the music scene but SAG7 may be truly one-of-a-kind by being a self-help movement and a musical group. Their first single, "Forget You," which features live musicians and vocalists with a virtual lead singer called Sagittarius A * and the participation of best-selling author Natascha Kampusch, is part of an ongoing movement to raise human potentiality.

The music of the band was produced by "LordsOfTheSounds" (Markus Weiss and Bern Wagner) in Austria and co-produced by 5-time Grammy nominee Peter Roberts here in the U.S. The single, first released in the EU and now available on iTunes and Amazon, is part of a concept album entitled "Sagittarius A * - Genius Failure," which is scheduled to be released in the EU later this year with U.S. distribution following immediately.

It is all part of the group's effort to combine music with a dedicated human awareness organization. "SAG7 and our virtual frontman Sagittarius A * want to raise global awareness of the potential for increased human sensitivity as a genetic heredity," states SAG7 leader Chris Novi, a multi-media artist based in Austria.

Is Novi actually the group's front person? "Who knows," Novi says with a smile, pointing out that Sagittarius A * "can only be truly represented as an animated image."

About SAG7:
In addition to being a band, SAG7 is a global community sharing their self-help experience, strength and hope. They stand for the conscious awareness of sensitivity as a basic human disposition, with special emphasis on highly sensitive persons (HSP) who can work together to increase sensitivity as a basic human predisposition. SAG7 is not allied with any sect, denomination, political organization, or institution.

"SAG7 is open to people of all ages and of every nationality regardless of background," Novi states. "SAG7 members come from diverse social, economic and cultural conditions." There is a 12-step process that, as their website states, "provides sensitive people a mental self-discovery program in a protected, anonymous atmosphere." SAG7 seeks to spread their message via every possible avenue of communication.

Top-Notch Volunteer Joins Assemblymember Mike Gipson’s Political Campaign

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Volunteer recruitment is one of the toughest tasks when it comes to running a tight political campaign. That's why Assemblymember Mike Gipson was thrilled to meet and recruit Alicia Amerson, a political science graduate with well-honed interpersonal and leadership skills, coupled with global views. And, from June 3 through June 5, she will be a part of the Mike Gipson GOTV (Get Out the Vote) Campaign. She's recruited others to help too.

When the two met at a recent fundraiser for Gipson's campaign, there was an instant connection. Amerson was impressed with Gipson's political ideas and exceptional organizational skills and knew that they shared similar ideals. Gipson was impressed by Amerson's travels abroad to Spain and Italy as an English instructor in addition to her enthusiasm for youth rights.

Gipson's and Amerson's passion for change are well aligned. Years ago, Amerson's mother started a non-profit focused on teen advocacy, so when Amerson learned of a bill - Assembly Bill 1067, a bill that builds on California's Foster Youth Bill of Rights Law to expand foster youth rights - she was intrigued.

"I had a friend who was part of the foster care system, so I know first-hand about the challenges foster youth face when they don't know their rights," Amerson says.

Gipson's campaign needs a committee in place to draft proposals to the state legislature to reinvigorate the law; to review federal and state laws to identify the rights of children in foster care; to recommend necessary updates to the 'Foster Youth Bill of Rights,'; to review how youth are informed of their rights; and to recommend changes.

Anna Johnson, a policy advocate at the National Center for Youth Law, is hopeful that the working committee will come up with recommendations that will increase law accountability and proper information dissemination.

"Fewer than three percent of foster kids earn college degrees and teens in foster care are less likely to finish high school," Gipson says. 'We hope expansion of this legislation will provide clearer guidelines for foster youth that result in more positive outcomes."

Gipson is thrilled to have Amerson on his volunteer team and is confident that her passion for helping youth will bring energy to his campaign.

Amerson is currently working in Gipson's district as the Associate Director of Facilities at California State University Dominguez Hills.

About Assemblymember Mike Gipson:

Mike Gipson was first elected to the California State Assembly in November 2014. He represents the 64th Assembly District that includes the communities of Carson, Compton, Gardena, Harbor Gateway, Lynwood, North Long Beach, Rancho Dominguez, South Los Angeles, Torrance, Watts/Willowbrook and Wilmington.

In various capacities, Assemblymember Gipson has been serving the people of the 64th District his entire life. As a peace officer, legislative staff, elected official, and labor organizer, Gipson's dedication to the residents of the South Bay is a testament to his heart and enthusiasm for helping others. He lives in Carson with his wife, LeCresha and they have three sons, D'ANcee, Devon and Jordan. Learn more:

Edupoint Selected by Maine DOE as Sole Provider of State Level Student Information and Reporting System

MESA, Ariz. -- Edupoint(R) Educational Systems, creator of the industry-leading Synergy(R) Education Platform for K-12 student information and learning management, has been selected by the Maine Department of Education (Maine DOE) to provide a State Level Student Information and Reporting System (SSIRS).

As the sole award recipient from a field of seven competitive bidders, the Synergy State solution will replace the state's existing Infinite Campus State Edition with a scalable student information database to aggregate data from all school administrative units (SAUs), using Ed-Fi to collect data on Maine's 180,000 students for state and federal reporting mandated by the state's Department of Education.

"Maine's student data represents one of the cornerstones for the Department of Education as we try to make informed decisions on improving educational results," says Maine's Education Data Manager, Brian Snow. "The Synergy product promises better control of the quality of information collected, which can then ensure better decisions."

The Synergy State solution will provide Maine with a centralized database that connects SAU local data systems with the state's student data collection process, improving overall reporting functionality and the quality and accuracy of student data. Districts that do not have local data systems to enter data may log into the Synergy State system directly and input data using any supported web browser. Student demographics, enrollment, health, assessment, CTE, and special education data will be submitted by SAUs through the securely hosted Synergy State solution, where query and reporting tools will allow the state to access, display, and analyze data in real time.

Under terms of the contract, SAUs have the option to license the Synergy Education Platform directly with the Department at pre-negotiated rates without needing to go through the bid process. The Synergy Education Platform unites distinct K-12 data management functions in one fully-integrated solution, creating system-wide data connections that help improve administrative processes and learning outcomes without the hassle or cost of third-party system integrations. Along with the industry's richest student information system feature set, Synergy includes comprehensive assessment, learning and curriculum management, analytics, online registration, role-based mobile applications, and tools to help ensure IEP compliance.

"Edupoint is pleased to provide Maine with a technologically advanced solution for their State Level Student Information and Reporting System," says Rob Wilson, Edupoint's President and Chief Innovation Officer. "It is an honor to partner with a state that values the importance of harnessing both student and instructional data to help transform the way schools and districts operate. We look forward to developing a longstanding relationship with the Maine Department of Education, and to welcoming districts throughout the state to the Synergy family."

The contract is currently awaiting final approval from the Bureau of Purchases. Maine SAUs are scheduled to begin reporting data to the state via the Synergy State solution in July 2017.
