ARTICLE:

According to the Pantheory Research Organization, a new study of type 1a supernova data has concluded, for the first time, that dark energy probably does not exist. The paper is entitled "An Alternative Universe-Scale Analytic Metrology and Related Cosmological Model." The paper was published in the February 2014 issue of the journal of Applied Physics Research, by the Canadian Center of Science and Education and authored by Forrest W. Noble and Timothy M. Cooper.

This new research study involves "an analysis of type 1a supernovae data with newly proposed distance and brightness equations which, if valid, would eliminate the need for changing expansion rates of the universe vis-a-vis dark energy."

"Major conclusions of the study were that the observable universe is probably not expanding also precluding its accelerated expansion (dark energy), and that the Hubble Distance Formula is wrong and needs to be replaced," say authors Noble and Cooper.

This conclusion was based upon researchers comparing Big Bang related Hubble formula distance calculations with alternative-cosmology derived distance and brightness equations and related calculations, concerning a present-day study of type 1a supernova observations.

The subject paper used the same type 1a supernovae data as the original studies and papers that proposed the accelerated expansion of the universe, but this and other present-day studies now include much more data since the quantity of international observations of type 1a supernovae has multiplied greatly since then. At the time of the original studies in the 1990's that proposed the accelerated expansion of the universe, there were at least two unstated assumptions being made.

The first well-accepted assumption then and now was that space is expanding, and the second assumption was that the Hubble Formula calculates distances correctly based upon a constant expansion rate of the universe. The Hubble Distance Formula was derived from the Special Theory of Relativity based upon an expanding universe. The authors of this paper say that if either or both of these assumptions were wrong, then dark energy could be an invalid hypothesis even though the Nobel Prize was granted for its discovery.

The non-standard cosmology used as the basis for deriving the alternative equations and calculations used for comparison in the study is called the "Pan Theory."

Retail Expert Doug Fleener’s Tips for Being Nice to Retail Employees This Holiday Season

Author: Dynamic Experiences Group LLC
Dateline: Boston, Massachusetts (BOSTON, Mass.)  | Fri, 22 Nov 2013

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Although much of the focus around holiday shopping is on door busting deals and 'Black Friday' madness, retail and customer experience expert Doug Fleener, president and managing partner of retail consultancy Dynamic Experiences Group LLC in Boston, says it's important for shoppers to remember the retail employees who make it all happen.”

ARTICLE:

Although much of the focus around holiday shopping is on door busting deals and "Black Friday" madness, retail and customer experience expert Doug Fleener, president and managing partner of retail consultancy Dynamic Experiences Group LLC in Boston, says it's important for shoppers to remember the retail employees who make it all happen.

Working retail is not an easy job, and with extended holiday hours and huge crowds it becomes even more challenging. Fleener says that shoppers who are nice to retail workers not only personally benefit, but also share holiday cheer with those who might just need it right at that moment.

Fleener says, "We all know how stressful the holidays can be, but imagine having to deal with thousands of stressed-out customers. Be nice to retail associates and they'll be nice - and helpful - to you."

Here are four ways holiday shoppers can be nice to retail employees:

1. Know that most store employees do care. They want you to be happy and have a good experience, but sometimes things happen that are beyond their control.

2. Treat store employees the way you want you or your family members to be treated. Retail associates take it personally when you get upset or dismiss them. Retail employees are good people who are working to support themselves, work their way through school, or provide for their families - just like you.

3. Be nice. Raising your voice or behaving in a threatening manner is not a good way to persuade someone to help you. You'd be unhappily amazed how often this happens during the holidays. Asking politely stands out, and increases the likelihood of receiving the help you want.

4. Thank a retail associate for keeping local retail and the holiday spirit alive. True, most people now do at least some of their holiday shopping online, but the season wouldn't be the same without a shopping trip to a local store. It's local retail employees who make this possible.

Be nice to retail employees and they'll be nice to you. They might even be able to find that last Black Friday special you're looking for, or tell you about a register with no line. 'Tis the season to be nice to retail workers!

About Doug Fleener:

Doug Fleener is president and managing partner of Dynamic Experiences Group LLC (DEG), a Lexington, Mass. retail and customer experience consulting firm. He is the former director of retail for Bose Corporation, and has also owned and operated his own specialty stores.

Fleener publishes a retail newsletter, "The Weekly Retail Experience," that focuses on the growth and development of retail stores and staff. He also publishes a popular blog, The Retail Contrarian.

Fleener is available throughout the holiday season to discuss the issues facing retailers this holiday season.

ARTICLE:

The Central Valley Tea Party, in conjunction with Merced Tea Party, North Valley Patriots, Mariposa Tea Party, Bakersfield Tea Party, Tehachapi Tea Party and Central Coast Freedom Rallies, has issued commendations to Calif. Congressmen Tom McClintock and Jeff Denham and censures to Congressmen Jim Costa, Kevin McCarthy, Devin Nunes and David Valadao based on their votes on H.R. 2775, the 2014 Continuing Appropriations Act.

The CVTP takes out-of-control federal spending and the continued accumulation of debt very seriously. In June of 2011, the CVTP organized large rallies and a petition drive to deliver the message to congress that "No More Debt" is acceptable. Earlier this month, October 2013, the CVTP again organized a petition drive to deliver the message that any additional funding for Obamacare is unacceptable.

These commendations and censures represent the CVTP's follow-through to hold elected representatives accountable, regardless of their party affiliation.

About The Central Valley Tea Party:

The Central Valley Tea Party grew out of a tax day protest in 2009 that drew well over 8,500 attendees. The CVTP (Including Auberry, Mariposa, Fresno, Reedley, Madera, Kings County, Tulare/Visalia and Sanger and Oakhurst/Coarsegold) and its local affiliates now cover over 22,500 square miles and five counties in Central California.

In addition to its successful protests, the CVTP also achieved election victories in Fresno and Madera Counties. More information: http://www.centralvalleyteaparty.com/ .

About North Valley Patriots:

The North Valley Patriots are comprised of: Turlock Tea Party, Patterson Tea Party, Oakdale Tea Party, Stanislaus Foothill Farmers United, and a new group chapter in Newman.

Cogensia and Infutor Collaborate to Build New Automotive Conquestor Target Model

Author: Cogensia
Dateline: Chicago, Illinois (CHICAGO, Ill.)  | Thu, 17 Oct 2013

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Cogensia today announced a strategic collaboration with Infutor Data Solutions, Inc. to provide the auto industry with improved business intelligence in order to gain more market share. So, now with two powerful sets of data, information can be provided as early as 12 months before a buying decision is made.”

ARTICLE:

Illinois-based Cogensia (formerly CAC Group, Inc.) today announced a strategic collaboration with Infutor Data Solutions, Inc. to provide the auto industry with improved business intelligence in order to gain more market share. So, now with two powerful sets of data, information can be provided as early as 12 months before a buying decision is made.

Competition in the auto industry is fierce. There are hundreds of brand choices and automakers are realizing increasing market erosion. Additionally, the concept of "owner loyalty" is more challenging than ever.

"This is why automakers need to focus on lead generation and conquesting," Rob Morgan, Chief Marketing Officer, Cogensia says. "The rally cry is to bring new customers to their brand sooner and conquesting today requires an upgrade in data and intelligence to achieve results."

Combining Cogensia's superior analytics and ConsumerIntelliBase(TM) with Infutor's True Automotive file will deliver a state-of-the art, in-market timing model custom-tailored to automakers.

The ConsumerIntelliBase(TM) provides detailed profiles of more than 130 million households categorized into one of 58 "silhouettes." Those silhouettes are then further grouped into 12 "life drivers" and are designed to drive communications and offer effective target strategies. Data is related to geography, income level, age, lifestyle, shopping choices and more.

Infutor's Automotive Database is one of the industry's largest and most accurate non-regulated automobile marketing files. With more than 160 million total records, it consistently outperforms other automobile files for accuracy, counts and response rates. All records are known vehicle ownership transactions.

And finally, Market Conquestor Models(TM) predict the likelihood that a consumer household will be in the automotive market in the next zero to 12 months. Specifically created for the Auto Conquest Market, consumers identified by the Market Conquestor Models(TM) are two and a half times more likely to buy than average.

"With fewer buyers and more competition, this partnership gives the auto industry a much-needed edge," Michelle Tilton, marketing and communications director at Infutor, says.

About Cogensia:

Cogensia is committed to intelligence that compels. It remains dedicated to driving marketing results through compelling insight, while partnering with its clients. It invests in people, processes and technology that continue to bring this mission to life. More information: http://www.cogensia.com/ .

About Infutor Data Solutions:

Infutor Data Solutions is a direct marketing database building veteran with more than 30 years of industry experience. It brings together unique, high-quality compiled data with automated methods of delivering data in customizable formats. It creates an elite combination of data and technology. The ‘Comedians with Disabilities Act’ Tour Rolls into Alameda September 14, 2013

A blind man. A woman who stutters. A wheelchair user. A Little Person. While this may sound like a description of a support group, it is, in fact, the lineup for the "Comedians with Disabilities Act," a comedy tour that the San Francisco Examiner called "The most unconventional comics to pop up in 2011."

Made up entirely of performers with different disabilities, the troupe is bringing their "special" brand of humor to the Pacific Pinball Museum on Saturday, September 14, for a one-night only performance benefiting the museum.

The foursome, all of them working northern California comedians, met each other through the comedy club circuit and decided to band together to treat audiences to a unique and unforgettable experience.

"Lots of able-bodied comedians out there tell blind or wheelchair jokes and get the audience to laugh AT people with disabilities," said Michael O'Connell, the group's wheelchair representative. "But we thought wouldn't it be more fun for the crowd to laugh WITH people with disabilities instead? That's guilt-free fun right there."

Since their first sold-out show in Sacramento, the group has been in growing demand, getting booked at such lauded venues as the Laugh Factory in Hollywood and San Francisco's Punch Line.

Their comedy comes from the lifetime of experiences each has had due to their individual challenges. They see the tour as not only a chance to entertain, but to educate people on disability issues.

"We're all comedians first," said Napa native Steve Danner who identifies as a Little Person, "and it's a comedy show. But who says you can't make people laugh and send them home with something to think about too?"

Danner's comedy career began as an audience member at a club. The comedian on stage that night decided to have some fun at his expense, and Danner's skills in heckling back at him led the comic to approach Danner after the show and suggest he give comedy a try. He did so, and soon began a career as a prolific comedian and producer, delighting crowds at clubs and comedy rooms all over the west coast with hysterical tales centered heavily on his dwarfism. His comic journey keeps him on the road much of the time, but as Danner is fond of saying, "Shrimpin' ain't easy!"

Michael O'Connell was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy at two years old and began using a wheelchair in 1995. But it wasn't until years later that a friend dared him to try doing comedy at an open mic night at a Sacramento club, and after ending up winning the competition that first night on stage, he never looked back. He's played comedy clubs from Seattle to L.A. (including the Hollywood Improv and the Jon Lovitz Comedy Club), been featured in newspapers and on radio and television, and counts several Hollywood celebrities among his fans. His business card reads "100% Comedy, 0% Stand-Up."

Sacramento's Eric Mee was only eighteen years old when, while protecting a young child, he was stabbed in the chest. Complications resulting from his injury led to the loss of his eyesight. Choosing not to let this drastic life change get him down, he began joking about his condition and giving speeches to groups that were always filled with humor. After many suggestions, he turned his talents to stand-up comedy, and now brings his manic energy and outrageous tales to the stage, both at clubs and college campuses.

Touting herself as "the world's only female comedian who stutters," Nina G. hails from Alameda and has spent a lifetime dealing with both speech and learning disability issues. A key note speaker and disability advocate,

Nina turned her talents to the stand-up stage to help raise disability awareness through comedy, and performs her award-winning work at some of the industry's hottest clubs (the Hollywood Improv and the San Francisco Punchline) and has shared the stage with some of its biggest names (Dave Chappelle).

The Comedians with Disabilities Act will be joined by special guests Queenie TT and Steve Lee who will bring their unique and funny perspectives to the stage.

Darren Brown has been DJing for twenty plus years at house parties and various venues in San Francisco. Diagnosed with prostate disease, he has given up on all the "wacko industrial complexes" and seeks stress free enjoyment and sharing joy via music.

Proceeds from the show will go to Pacific Pinball Museum, a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Learn more about the museum and its mission and cultural events at: http://Pacificpinball.org/ .

The show begins at 8 p.m. Show will contain adult content. Tickets are $15 and are available at the Pacific Pinball Museum and eventbrite: https://www.pacificpinballmuseum.eventbrite.com .

Writing Students Replace Fear with Fun in Revamped Workshop Curriculum

Author: Dragon's Gate Creative Journeys
Dateline: Santa Fe, New Mexico (SANTA FE, N.M.)  | Mon, 08 Jul 2013

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Dragon's Gate Creative Journeys, an experiential workshop service for writers led by Milli Thornton, author of 'Fear of Writing' (ISBN: 978-1591098188), announced today the third edition of the Fear of Writing Clinic Student Workbook. The workbook has been used since 2005 to help students at the Fear of Writing Clinic overcome deep-seated fears, allowing workshop participants to write more spontaneously and with less self-censure.”

A R T I C L E:

Dragon's Gate Creative Journeys, an experiential workshop service for writers led by Milli Thornton, author of "Fear of Writing" (ISBN: 978-1591098188) announced today the third edition of the Fear of Writing Clinic Student Workbook. The workbook has been used since 2005 to help students at the Fear of Writing Clinic overcome deep-seated fears, allowing workshop participants to write more spontaneously and with less self-censure.

"My role as workshop presenter is to lead students to the treasures lurking in the imagination, and to provide exercises that make the writing fun," said Thornton. "The workbook provides ample space for writing the old-fashioned way: with pencil or pen. It also serves as a record of the emotional and creative milestones experienced at the workshop."

"The workbook allows me to be less of a talking head and more of a human trigger," Thornton added.

The professionally printed spiral-bound workbook, which started in 2001 as handouts printed on colored paper and carried home in manila folders, has evolved through two previous editions. The third edition includes three new writing exercises, a tighter format to allow more writing time during the workshop and four sections that can be used by students at home to continue the writing momentum.

The Fear of Writing Clinic is held in intimate settings, typically the back room in a coffeehouse or the living room of a private home, in order to put writers and closet writers at ease. In between writing sessions, students are encouraged to read their work out loud to the group, after absorbing simple ground rules about safe environment.

"No one needs to fear a critique," Thornton said. "The Fear of Writing Clinic is a safe place where writers can share their fears and learn how to turn the fear into fun with creative tips from the presenter and support from the group."

"I'm still so amazed at how the Fear of Writing method works for me," Sandy Schairer, a writer from Albuquerque, told Milli by email. "I can write creatively and leave my stuffy old left brain out of it!"

The Fear of Writing Clinic runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with lunch and English afternoon tea provided by Chef Matthew Lauck. Tuition is $165, which includes a copy of "Fear of Writing" and a 57-page student workbook. The next Fear of Writing Clinic will be held on July 20, 2013 at a private home in Santa Fe.

Milli presents more of her original writing courses at Unleash Your Writing!, and she coaches writers individually at Writer's Muse Coaching.
