ALBANY, N.Y., Sept. 25 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- The New York State Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped (CBVH) has earned a 2009 "Best of New York" award for its Consumer Information System (CIS) application, developed with Libera, Inc. The award was made by the New York State Center for Digital Government and Government Technology in the category of "Project Best Advancing Service to the Public."
The award was presented on September 24th at the New York Digital Government Summit in Albany (www.govtech.com/events/gtceast2009), and recognizes technology projects that have designed, developed, and deployed applications or improved existing systems that directly deliver services more efficiently and effectively to the public.
CBVH (www.ocfs.state.ny.us/main/cbvh/about.asp) is located within the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, and provides vocational rehabilitation and other direct services to legally blind New York State residents.
