Running Of The Bulls Only Sorta Canceled Due To Pandemic – 14th rendition of San Fermin in Nueva Orleans changes format, again

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Nola Bulls, LLC has found a way to carry on the fun of San Fermin in Nueva Orleans with an online gathering of amigos.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the uncertainty of legal gatherings of more than 10 people, the organizers and brain trust of San Fermin in Nueva Orleans have opted for an online fiesta. On Saturday July 11, 2020 all are invited to join the team as they present a way to revel with the friends they normally see each year, but cannot due to the virus.

Annually since 2007 people have come from around the globe to enjoy the company of friends and the gorings of our Virtual Bulls, aka RollerBulls(tm). The team had to be creative in order to bring the fun and festive feeling of SFNO to their loyal fans. Notify your friends and schedule a socially distant/approved way to join in.

Back in 2007 some friends dreamt up the idea of recreating the famous Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain by replacing the four-legged bovines with two-legged RollerBulls played by the Big Easy Rollergirls roller derby team. What has occurred since is nothing short of amazing. Each year hundreds of roller derby skaters (aka RollerBulls) from around the globe chase down and whoop willing runners through the streets of New Orleans. It's all part of a great three-day fiesta.

The three-day event that usually spans many blocks and venues in the city of New Orleans will be shortened to a few hours, but expanded to venues around the world. Entry to this virtual wonderland is available via www.nolabulls.com.

Look for performances from our beloved local groups and bands as well as some introductions to fans that come annually to enjoy our beloved city and this wacky fiesta.

Nola Bulls, LLC was founded in 2007 and is a provider and promoter of entertainment and cultural events in the New Orleans Area: Improving New Orleans one festival at a time. SFNO helps raise money for two local charities, visit https://www.bethsfriendsforever.org/ and http://bigeasyanimalrescue.org/ for info on these.

All Trademarks and service marks are the property of the respective parties.

COVID-19 Response Shines Light on Need for Civil Liberty Protections: California Organization Drafts Bill to Fix Health and Safety Code

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- In an effort to protect the right to body autonomy, California Health Coalition Advocacy (CHCA) has drafted legislation that would protect the right to refuse a long list of medical and non-medical interventions issued by the California Department of Public Health and Governor Newsom.

The organization points out that in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an onslaught of Governor's orders as well as an unusually high number of intrusive County Health Department ordinances. The breadth of powers granted, especially to unelected officials in county health offices, has surprised legislators and county supervisors.

Local Health Officers, who are not elected by their county constituents, have taken broad control of the response to this pandemic and created ordinances that come dangerously close to, if not outright, violating the right of Californians to decide how they manage their personal health choices.

"The right to refuse is based on fundamental constitutional principles. The sovereign nature of people necessitates that they be free and independent in all aspects of their life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness without interference from governmental power structures, and these inalienable rights need perpetual protection," said Diane Miller, who drafted the bill's language and who is also an attorney and Legal and Public Policy Director of National Health Freedom Coalition. This bill would ensure that the right to refuse stays intact.

CHCA's "Personal Rights During Infectious Outbreak and State of Emergency" bill would add Section 120137 to the health and safety code. Its main accomplishment would be to establish the right to refuse requirements and restrictions recently experienced by Californians.

The bill language stipulates the following: "... individuals retain the right to be free and independent and maintain their inalienable and fundamental rights including but not limited to the right to refuse the following activities whether for direct response or prevention: medical treatments or procedures; testing; physical or mental examination; vaccination; experimental procedures and protocols; collection of specimens; participation in tracking or tracing programs; the wearing of masks; the maintaining of measured distance from other humans and animals that is not otherwise unlawful; and the involuntary sharing of personal data or medical information."

"The power of California's Public Health Department has increased unchecked since the mid-90s. With the pandemic, the extent to which the local health officer can restrict the civil liberties of individuals has become apparent," stated Valerie Noble, president of CHCA. "They have the authority to take possession of a living body, destroy property and pets, and take any action they deem necessary, whether or not those actions are evidence-based. Furthermore, a person who refuses to comply with an order is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by fines and imprisonment. It is of utmost urgency that the rights of individuals during disease outbreaks are defined and protected."

California Health Coalition Advocacy is actively seeking a legislator to author their urgency bill.

About California Health Coalition Advocacy:

ViewTech Borescopes VJ-3 Sales Increase During May 2020

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. -- While businesses and industries continue to return to work as restrictions are lifted, video borescope sales increased for ViewTech Borescopes. ViewTech highlights the addition of a selection of their newest VJ-3 clients now utilizing a ViewTech borescope during their inspection process.

Many ViewTech borescope purchases are finalized after experiencing a no-cost, on-site demo of a full-featured VJ-3 articulating video borescope. A Plant Quality Manager for an American packaged food company became acquainted with the VJ-3 during an on-site demo in 2019. With the seams of their extruder barrel needing a close inspection during cleaning processes, their previous exposure to ViewTech's line of mechanical articulating video borescopes proved the VJ-3 6.0mm x 5.0 meter would be the perfect inspection tool.

Another of ViewTech's newest clients, one of the Bay Area's largest manufacturers, connected with ViewTech Borescopes while searching for a solution to inspect cabling that lined an inaccessible area of their newest generation tool. With the borescope needing to be equipped with an articulating tip and photo capturing capabilities, ViewTech's demo program allowed them to see first-hand the quality of video borescope offered before committing to purchase.

With on-site staff conducting the inspection, engineers working remotely were able to view the inspection photos and videos at their home office and provide recommendations. The staff was thoroughly impressed with the VJ-3 video borescope's articulation, image resolution, along with ViewTech's superior customer service, they finalized the purchase of a VJ-3 3.9mm x 1.5 meter and VJ-3 Dual Camera 6.0mm x 1.5 meter.

The VJ-3 Dual Camera video borescope is one of the newest and most in-demand units at ViewTech Borescopes. With the ability to utilize a forward-facing and 90-degree camera angle, the following are a selection of companies that are now utilizing the new VJ-3 Dual Cam:
* A Virginia-based power and energy company that serves more than 5 million retail energy customers throughout the Midwest, mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions
* A Houston, Texas aftermarket turbomachinery business
* A Fortune 100 and nation-leading energy provider
* A 50-year, industry-leading design, construction and maintenance service provider
* A US naval shipyard known for building, remodeling and repairing the Navy's ships

VJ-3 Video Borescope

The VJ-3 mechanical articulating video borescope is a nondestructive testing instrument used for the remote visual inspection of machinery, equipment, and components. The VJ-3 facilitates the visual recording and photo documentation of an inspection and components in areas that are otherwise inaccessible or require great effort and expense to access directly. The VJ-3 consists of two modules integrated into one system: an insertion tube with distally mounted camera/LEDs, and the base unit with control panel, LCD monitor, power source and all necessary circuitry.

About ViewTech Borescopes

ViewTech Borescopes, founded as RF System Lab in 2008, is North America's #1 seller of video borescopes. Their first product, the VJ borescope, set a new standard for portability, ergonomics and ease-of-use, with its industry-first mechanical, joystick-controlled articulation.

WordPlay T. Jay ‘putting in Overtime’ – Eighth album tackles work, ambitions, spiritual life, dreams

TACOMA, Wash. -- On The Map Music Group announces June 26, 2020 for release of hip hop artist WordPlay T. Jay's eighth album since 2007, dedicated to his dreams, family, spiritual life, ambitions and hard work over the years "putting in Overtime."

The album features 15 tracks that reflect the 30-year-old artist's motivations - retirement, security, and finding people to with whom to share his life - and the work he puts in to achieve all those goals.

The album was inspired by his 2017 single, "Overtime."

"I left the grocery store one day, and I started thinking about what my life at almost 30 years old," T. Jay said. "I worked all of these hours and I was wondering if it was worth it. I came to the conclusion it was and started humming the words, 'Overtime, overtime. All the time on my grind.' That stuck with me, I drove home, and I made the beat. Myself and my intern, Garret Sanchez, worked on the music video and the rest is history."

From then, T. Jay said "Overtime" has been a work-in-progress for the past two years, and at times, he has questioned whether or not to release a whole album.

"I've gone back and forth on whether I should release an album at all," he said. "Singles have been the driving force behind music consumption for a while now. Even though people like albums, they really don't engage with them anymore. They pick the songs they like from a project and move along with those. I didn't move to complete this album until six months ago, and this may be my last one for a while.

"I want to concentrate on making great singles for two reasons - the fans' consumption habits and to not bear the expense of releasing another album."

Driving T. Jay is the motivation to complete tracks and get the feeling of satisfaction each time.

"It feels like I've just made something exist out of thin air," he said. "The emotions evoked by the song makes me want to share it with others and hope they get the same feeling."

T. Jay also said fans motivate his drive.

"I focus a lot on the energy exchange between myself and the fans watching," he said. "What I enjoy the most is when someone tells me that they are a new fan because of my performance overall."

Also driving T. Jay is his spirituality, including fasting, meditating and learning new spiritual practices.

"I speak about all of these practices in my book, 'Fake Blues: Creating in the Face of Anxiety.' The goal is to overcome all of the anxieties we exacerbate with our thoughts and get back to making creative work. That practice has brought some extraordinary results my way. I've been able to invest more in my company due to revenue growth, my music sounds better, my soulmate is here with me now, and my ambitions are falling into place."

Ultimately, T. Jay's goals center around his company, On The Map Music Group, established in 2005.

"I want to create the largest independently owned media company in the world," he said. "The main objective is to put other creative people 'On The Map.' I want to return ownership to those who make the art, and grow their earning capacity on their terms. I'm the test subject, and as I meet more creatives willing to make the leap, the business will grow."

A teacher by trade and recently married, T. Jay has been working on his music career since high school, first hitting the scene with his single "The South," which was voted "Hottest in the Rock" by Hot 96.5 in Little Rock, Ark.

Since 2013, he has released three albums in six years. He also operates a YouTube channel to give independent musicians tips for music promotion, publishing and distribution.

Harlem Wizards Committed to Driving Equality, Fairness and Justice for All

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Harlem Wizards' players, staff and support personnel want to express their deep sympathy to the families of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. As an organization, it's saddened to see the images of such heinous murders. This is very personal for the group as 90 percent of the players are people of color, and this could have been one of them or their family members.

In order for the players to have a platform to collectively share their thoughts and feelings, a Zoom conference call was organized to give Harlem Wizards' players a voice and outlet to provide their perspective on these issues of inequality and injustice.

Reactions to these horrendous murders was anger, disappointment, resignation, pain and sadness. The common questions that emerged were: "How do we get past this?" "How can I make it safe for my kids?" "How can I feel completely comfortable and welcome in the USA?" "Will this ever change?"

King Arthur Lewis, Jr., the inspiration for the "Team of We" movement, shared that, "We have to have sustained perseverance, like the 381-day Birmingham bus boycott that ended busing segregation in Birmingham. We can protest and demand equality, but our challenge is to stand up for these things that we believe in while coming from a place of love and inclusion."

Todd Davis, CEO Harlem Wizards, said, "It was heartbreaking to hear the players' experience of living a somewhat double life. Respected and beloved while in 'Wizard' mode, but subject to a different reality when the uniform is removed. What was gratifying was that the players shared their authentic experiences and came together."

The key Zoom meeting takeaways included a desire to continue to bring people together through fun, inspiration and exciting trick-hoops, but also a shared hope to go beyond that and to be part of the healing and educational conversation about race relations and the challenges faced as a nation.

"We believe that through our travels around the USA that we have an opportunity and moral obligation to share our thoughts with the millions of students we see each year," Davis says.

Eric Jones, the longest-tenured Wizard of 22 years and one of the player-coaches said, "As an organization we have entertained fans across the globe for the past 59 years and we have brought families and communities together through basketball. This is not just what we do, this is who we are. This commitment to educating and fostering connection and understanding is a natural next step for the organization, fostered by where we are right now in this national conversation."

Dwayne "Swoop" Simpson, a 13-year Wizard and a player-coach said, "This is about fair treatment and justice for African-Americans, but it's also about humanity and making the world a better place for all."

The Wizards participated in a peaceful rally in Paramus, N.J. at Paramus High School on Tuesday, June 9.

Orange County based wedding videographer Fisheye Studio offers live streaming for weddings affected by Pandemic

IRVINE, Calif. -- Fisheye Studio has seen the demand for live streaming increase for weddings since the global COVID-19 pandemic. The Orange County, California based wedding videography company recently filmed a wedding on May 20 in Hollywood for a couple whose original plans to wed were to be at the end of June.

With the bride's family located mainly in Brazil, travel complications were too difficult to overcome and plan for, so they decided to have the ceremony on the rooftop of their home. Viewers watch and commented on Facebook Live as the company streaming a multi-camera, live HD feed around the world so that the bride's family didn't feel left out for not being at the wedding.

"Fisheye Studio is also planning another live streaming wedding on June 27 at the Crystal Cathedral located in Orange County, California," says company founder, Josh Fair. "The couple was supposed to have around 100 guests but is now only allowed to have up to 10. Instead, all their family and friends will feel as if they are right there with the couple as they tie the knot."

Josh Fair began by live streaming weddings back in 2004 in Honolulu, Hawaii. His company at the time, Live Internet Weddings, was featured on ABC, CNN, Time Magazine, and the New York Times for their innovative product. Fisheye Studio now offers that same service along with their other video production services for weddings.

Fisheye Studio was founded in 2009 and maintains offices in Honolulu and Orange County. Their website is https://fisheyestudio.com/.

Hago Energetics Inc. Announces Participation in the NASA CO2 Conversion Challenge

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Hago Energetics Inc., a startup company focused on development of scalable solutions to climate change, announced today that it is a participant in the NASA CO2 Conversion Challenge. This Challenge seeks to make colonization on Mars possible for future generations. The Company is in Phase 2 of this Challenge and has earned 10 bonus points to its final score after submitting a Mid-Point Progress Report on its status.

"This Challenge gives us the opportunity to contribute to building the chemical and biological infrastructure that will be useful to a future Mars colony," says said Wilson Hago, PhD, Founder and CEO of Hago Energetics.

The NASA CO2 Conversion Challenge is a $1 million competition to convert carbon dioxide into sugars such as glucose as a step to creating mission-critical resources. Such technologies will allow us to manufacture products using local, indigenous resources on Mars and on Earth by using waste and atmospheric carbon dioxide as a resource.

"This Challenge is in good alignment with our main mission, which is CO2 conversion on this planet for the purpose of mitigating climate change," added Hago. "Our approach is flexible in that it can produce, using carbon dioxide, water, solar energy and catalysts as inputs, food for bacteria and for future Mars inhabitants, as well as allow these inhabitants to make plastic materials such as tables, chairs, and utensils to make living on Mars feel like their former homes."

This project is presently self-funded, but the company is currently looking for sponsors for this project.

About Hago Energetics

Hago Energetics, Inc., located in Thousand Oaks, California, is developing technologies to mitigate and reverse climate change using renewable energy. The Company is seeking partnerships or sponsorships that will help advance its mission. Learn more at: http://hagoenergetics.com/

About NASA CO2 Conversion Challenge

NASA's CO2 Conversion Challenge, a Centennial Challenges competition, seeks to incentivize the public to develop non-biological systems that can convert CO2 into useful sugar molecules, like glucose. Sugars are the preferred feedstock for the types of microorganisms commonly used in commercial biomanufacturing systems. While sugars are usually derived from certain plants on Earth (ex., sugarcane), this approach is not easily adapted to space missions because of the size of these systems and resources needed to grow these plants.

What your Choice of Quarantini says about You: A Valuegraphics Survey

VANCOUVER, B.C. -- During your COVID-19 quarantine, in those Zoom socials, was gin your preferred spirit in your martini shaker? If it was, here's what we know about you and your cohort of gin drinkers, according to The Valuegraphics Database and a new global analysis of what people all over the world care about most - and by extension how they will behave.

Gin drinkers, as a group, break into four main segments:

* 24% are "The Probably Bow Ties" and are loyal to tradition and believe there is one right way to do everything. They place a high value on loyalty, making things happen, and keep an eye on their finances.

* 23% fit a profile called "The Probably No Ties." They are social adventurers, out more nights than they are in, and use their martini as a kind of social prop. They are always looking to grow and will be attracted to anything that offers the opportunity to be a better version of themselves.

* At 21%, "The Food Funsters" are planners, fixated on food, but really don't expect anything will be as good as they'd like. They seek out customization, and are just as happy dining alone as they are in a group.

* 17% are "The Career Drinkers," who live to network and build their social standing. They will drink their martini how everyone else does, so they don't stick out. Influence and wealth are their objectives, and they will do what needs to be done to attain them.

The balance of the sample are splinter groups that are not statistically relevant.

"By knowing what people care about - their values - we know why they behave as they do," says human behavior expert David Allison, founder of The Valuegraphics Database, the first global dataset of human values. "As humans, we spend all our waking hours hunting and gathering anything that will feed and protect our values: the things we care about most. This is our life's work."

It's a distinction that shows the limited range of traditional demographics that put people in categories based on what they are, but tell us nothing about who they are or why they behave as they do.

"Regardless of the demographic boxes you check as a human in society - race, gender, age, income - we learn more from cohorts based on shared values which can predict, with great precision, what people will do next. From a social science perspective, that's a very different narrative," says Allison.

If you wanted to speak to, engage or influence gin martini drinkers, for example, highlight anything that will trigger personal growth, personal responsibility and experiences. These values, from a list of 56 accepted by the scientific community, will be the most powerful.

"Empirical data that isolates what your target audience cares about tells you exactly what buttons to push to influence behavior," explains Allison, "because what we value determines what we do."

National Martini Day is June 19. Drink responsibly.

About Valuegraphics

The Valuegraphics Database defines the shared values of target audiences, regardless of their demographic profiles. It uses a global database informed by neuroscience, psychology and sociology and measures 436 shared human values, wants, needs and expectations. It's accurate to +/- 3.5%, offering a high degree of confidence. Learn more: https://valuegraphics.com/
