New ‘Citrus Splash’ Lemon-Lime Soft Drink: Crisp, Light, and Refreshing

Author: Multi-Flow Industries
Dateline: Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania (HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa.)  | Tue, 09 Nov 2010

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Multi-Flow Industries, a Beverage Processor founded in 1937, recently launched a new Fountain-Dispensed Lemon-Lime Carbonated Soft Drink brand. CEO Mark Stephens announced, 'We're incredibly proud of our new premium lemon-lime soft drink, that has consistently beaten all 3 of the other national brands in blind taste tests.'”

A R T I C L E:

Multi-Flow Industries, a Beverage Processor founded in 1937, recently launched a new Fountain-Dispensed Lemon-Lime Carbonated Soft Drink brand. CEO Mark Stephens announced, "We're incredibly proud of our new premium lemon-lime soft drink, that has consistently beaten all 3 of the other national brands in blind taste tests. And, just like the rest of our line-up, new Citrus Splash offers a true value to foodservice operators as a lower-priced alternative to 7-Up, Sprite, and Sierra Mist."

"Citrus Splash" offers a unique balance of lemon and lime flavors. Product Development Director Owen Rothstein tested dozens of flavor mixtures, including several different blends of sweeteners. The results, according to Rothstein, prove that the new lemon-lime soft drink outscores the national brands by as much as a 10-to-1 ratio.

The brand name was developed by one of Multi-Flow's Route Drivers in Fort Lauderdale, Florida: Reggie Garret. During the brand team's visit to the Miami area, Reggie offered up "Citrus Splash" as a potential name for the new soft drink.

Stephens said, "As soon as it came out of Reggie's mouth, I knew we had the perfect brand name for the perfect new beverage." Based on "Taste Panels" from consumer focus groups, the descriptive tag, "Crisp, Light, and Refreshing" was subsequently added.

"Citrus Splash" will be branded under the "Micro-Brewed by Multi-Flow" logo, which also encompasses Kodiak Cola, Kodiak Diet Cola, Morning Dew, and a variety of other carbonated soft drinks. Multi-Flow Industries exclusively manufactures fountain-dispensed beverages, through its own distribution network along the East Coast, as well as through allied distributors throughout the U.S. Their product line is available for national distribution to restaurants, foodservice, and all other locations that serve fountain-dispensed drinks.

More information is available at Multi-Flow Industries' company Web site, www.multiflow.net .

AMT Datasouth Corporation Announces Release of PalSafe, a Network Downtime Workaround Software Package

Author: AMT Datasouth Corporation
Dateline: Camarillo, California (CAMARILLO, Calif.)  | Tue, 09 Nov 2010

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “AMT Datasouth Corporation is pleased to announce the release of PalSafe, a network downtime workaround software package for use with AMT Datasouth Fastmark thermal printers. PalSafe permits the creation and printing of critical admission records while a facility is experiencing a network outage.”

A R T I C L E:

AMT Datasouth Corporation is pleased to announce the release of PalSafe™, a network downtime workaround software package for use with AMT Datasouth Fastmark thermal printers. PalSafe permits the creation and printing of critical admission records while a facility is experiencing a network outage. PalSafe is intended for network users of Fastmark printers in hospitals, incarceration facilities, audience admission control and other environments.

With PalSafe installed on a Windows®-based PC, a user enters data into a PC screen template that mimics the network screen and then prints the desired wristband, label, tag or other document as it would print under network control. The screen template(s) are custom prepared by AMT Datasouth as part of the PalSafe software offer. The print template(s) are those already residing in the Fastmark printer and were prepared to the user's specifications by AMT Datasouth. PalSafe allows the user to continue using the printer as if the network were fully functioning

PalSafe allows the administrator to set-up passwords to control entry and verify user authorization. PalSafe automatically encrypts and stores the data entries made by the user for later uploading into the system.

"PalSafe does away with clumsy and unsecured handwritten forms, backlogs of un-entered data and with the errors normally associated with such workarounds since it uses the same screen entry format used with the network," says Joseph Eichberger, Pres. and CEO of AMT Datasouth. "Since most network systems are subject to scheduled downtime and all occasionally experience unscheduled downtime, PalSafe is a reliable, cost-effective solution to a network outage."

PalSafe is attractively priced for system users having one or multiple entry sites. For a user with ten or more sites, PalSafe costs just $725 per site. The price includes the input screen template(s) designed to match the buyer's exact specifications. PalSafe is delivered on a customized CD ready to install in the critical PC locations.

AMT Datasouth's PalSafe is available to end users through authorized resellers. For more information on PalSafe, see the Company's Web site at: www.amtdatasouth.com/product-news/palsafe-4/ . PalSafe is available now.

About AMT Datasouth:

AMT Datasouth offers a complete line of thermal bar code and label printers under its Fastmark brand. The Fastmark printers feature the renowned Pal application programming language that allows them to be seamlessly integrated into existing IT systems for replacing embossers, impact or other legacy printers without host reprogramming. AMT Datasouth has built its reputation on giving its customers what they want. More information: www.amtdatasouth.com .

Revenue Growth for Cable System Operators Hinges on Pushing Telecom Services into Businesses, says Insight Research Corp.

Author: Insight Research Corporation
Dateline: Mountain Lakes, New Jersey (MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J.)  | Mon, 08 Nov 2010

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Over the next five years, the U.S. cable TV industry is expected to generate nearly $700 million in new revenue by providing telecommunications services to small, medium and large enterprises, according to a new market research study from The Insight Research Corporation.”

A R T I C L E:

Over the next five years, the U.S. cable TV industry is expected to generate nearly $700 million in new revenue by providing telecommunications services to small, medium and large enterprises, according to a new market research study from The Insight Research Corporation. While this new revenue stream appears substantial, it is only a tiny fraction of the $130 billion spent annually by businesses on telecommunications services.

Insight Research's market analysis study, "Cable TV Operators, Telecom Services, and the Push into the Enterprise 2010-2015" points out that the residential market, the stronghold on the cable TV industry, is actually the smallest segment of the U.S. telecommunications market with annual revenue of $65 billion. Commercial services are far and away the largest segment with annual revenue of $130 billion, wireless represents $75 billion in annual revenue, and video, which only recently is being counted as a segment of the telecommunications business, represents a $70 billion annual revenue opportunity.

"While their legacy has been in providing services to residential markets, the greatest opportunity ahead for the cable TV industry lies in grabbing share in the enterprise segment and providing telecom services to over 7 million potential business locations throughout the U.S.," says Robert Rosenberg, Insight Research.

"Our study suggests that continued cable industry consolidation will actually strengthen their ability to compete as larger systems with broader footprints, uniform services, and improved performance match the capabilities the telco have long provided," Rosenberg concluded.

"Cable TV Operators, Telecom Services, and the Push into the Enterprise 2010-2015" segments revenue estimates for telco and cable operators providing basic voice, data, and video services offered to the small, medium and large enterprise business segments. Detailed revenue estimates are provided for DOCSIS-based services, Ethernet, private lines, voice services, Web hosting, optical transport, and video.

An excerpt of this enterprise telecommunications services market research report, table of contents, and ordering information are online at: http://www.insight-corp.com/reports/enterprise10.asp .

This 135-page report is available immediately in Electronic (PDF) format and can be ordered online for $4,695.00. Visit our Web site, or call 973-541-9600 for details.

Epeius Biotechnologies Awarded Federal Grant Advancing Tumor-Targeted Cancer Therapy

Author: Epeius Biotechnologies Corporation
Dateline: San Marino, California (SAN MARINO, Calif.)  | Mon, 08 Nov 2010

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Epeius Biotechnologies Corporation, a leader in the emerging field of targeted genetic medicine, announced today the receipt of additional financial support for the company's lead oncology product, Rexin-G, from the U.S. Departments of Treasury, Health and Human Services (HHS), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the form of a prestigious competitive grant.”

A R T I C L E:

Epeius Biotechnologies Corporation, a leader in the emerging field of targeted genetic medicine, announced today the receipt of additional financial support for the company's lead oncology product, Rexin-G®, from the U.S. Departments of Treasury, Health and Human Services (HHS), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the form of a prestigious competitive grant.

This latest support for the clinical advancement of Rexin-G comes from the Qualifying Therapeutic Discovery Project (QTDP) program, created as a component of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 to support projects that are determined by the HSS to have significant potential (i) to develop innovative new treatments to address major unmet medical needs, (ii) to reduce long-term health care costs, (iii) to represent significant medical progress toward an eventual treatment/cure for cancer, (iv) to advance U.S. competitiveness in the fields of life science and medical technologies, and (v) to create and/or sustain well-paying jobs in the United States.

This meritorious tranche of U.S. Government support for Rexin-G, the world's first and, so far, only targeted injectable genetic medicine for cancer that has been validated in clinical trials, represents the latest formal declaration of the potential importance, competitiveness, and overall merit of the platform of highly-advanced molecular biotechnologies and nanotechnologies embodied in this targeted injectable anticancer agent.

"We are very pleased with this formal recognition and support of our medical mission, for it represents a continuing commitment to develop the high-value products and intellectual properties of this company for the benefit of all," said Lina Kabayan, Epeius CFO who spearheaded this latest grant submission.

From the first National Science Foundation (NSF) and NIH grants awarded to the founders of Epeius Biotechnologies, to the American Heart Association (AHA) which provided funding to support the cardiovascular targeting technologies, to the Office of Orphan Products Development (OOPD) which provided funding for the first clinical trials in the U.S., and which ultimately granted Orphan Drug Status to Rexin-G for three separate clinical indications (pancreatic cancer, soft tissue sarcoma, and osteosarcoma), to the U.S. FDA which granted Fast Track Status to Rexin-G for chemotherapy-resistant pancreatic cancer, the continuing federal support for these vital medical technologies is a testament that basic science and innovation in the service of medicine is still alive and well in America.

About Epeius Biotechnologies Corporation:

Epeius Biotechnologies Corporation is a privately held biopharmaceutical company that is bringing the latest advancements in genetic medicine to the cancer patient with the development and commercialization of its leading oncology products and its tumor-targeted delivery systems. Rexin-G® is currently approved for the treatment of all chemotherapy-resistant solid tumors by the Philippine FDA.

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “The United States Global Entrepreneurs Association (USGEA) is proud to announce that one of its corporate members, Vickers Financial Group, a leading Venture Capital firm emerged a winner on October 5th at the Inaugural Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SVCA) Annual Awards Gala Dinner held at the Shangri-La Hotel.”

A R T I C L E:

The United States Global Entrepreneurs Association (USGEA) is proud to announce that one of its corporate members, Vickers Financial Group ("Vickers"), a leading Venture Capital firm emerged a winner on October 5th at the Inaugural Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity Association ("SVCA") Annual Awards Gala Dinner held at the Shangri-La Hotel. The newly established annual awards program is aimed to highlight successful venture capital ("VC") and private equity ("PE") investments, as well as recognize the achievements of the dynamic VC/PE players in the industry.

Vickers which focuses on early stage investments, funded the start-up capital for Cambridge Real Estate Investment Management ("CREIM") Pte Ltd, the investment manager of Cambridge Industrial Trust ("CIT"), a REIT which is listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange in 2005 and sold its interests to a joint venture between National Australian Bank and Oxley Capital in 2008 for a 26x return on investment and an IRR of approximately 190%.

Vickers took home the best exit award for Category A (early staged investments). In this category, key criteria were investment returns, investment holding period and the size of the transaction. "Our investment in CREIM is a good example of the deals we invest in. We focus on early stage in the 5 sectors of technology, media, telecommunication, financial services and consumer. We took a more active role in the strategic management of this company, through the chairmanship of the board and subcommittees, and also seconding a full time de facto CFO to the company," said Vickers Financial Group's chairman, Dr. Finian Tan.

USGEA Chairman Dr. Shaan Kumar remarked, "There are very few VC's who are choosing high risk high gain ventures in the current economic conditions but I feel Vickers team is making a prudent move in identifying their niche by choosing very few deals out of thousands of companies they see each year. Their portfolios are very unique and diversified. In my personal experience, the Vickers team, led by Dr. Tan, are not only good strategic investors, but good team players."

For the second year, Pathbuilders will manage the Mentor of Excellence program for GSU's Executive Master's of Science, Managing Information Technology program. Through the mentoring overlay component of the MS MIT degree program, students benefit from real-life experiences and professional development through the insights of a mentor.

"The GSU Mentor of Excellence Program provided me with the final piece to the executive puzzle that I sought to gain through my Master's degree," said David Tatum, a 2009 graduate of the MS MIT program and a former mentee. "Although the course work and texts supplied solid background knowledge, my mentor bestowed professional experience, guidance, and leadership as the most valuable tools I carry through my career path."

The Executive MS MIT program consists of five academic modules, each consisting of two courses, delivered over the course of one year. Structured mentoring modules delivered to the mentoring groups are designed to complement the course curriculum and initiate productive conversations between the mentor and student mentees. Executive MS MIT students are currently working in the IT field and have a minimum of four years of industry experience. An experienced IT business leader from the local business community serves as a mentor to the program participants.

"Many of the students in this program aspire to c-level executive positions in their companies or industries. The Mentor of Excellence curriculum overlay provides the necessary professional development and real world exposure to prepare these students for the rigors of organizational leadership," said Helene Lollis, president of Pathbuilders.
