LACC Basketball Coach Mike (Michael) Miller Reveals Facts About His Innocence on TV show After Being Found Not Guilty On All Charges In Jury Trial

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Los Angeles City College Coach Mike Miller, who gained fame as the most winning college basketball coach in the country from 1997-2006, with a winning percentage of .885 and a record of 241-38, was found not guilty by 12-0 vote in a jury trial verdict in Los Angeles Superior Court; announced the California Basketball Association (CBA).

Coach Miller coached Los Angeles City College to a national record 14 straight conference championships from 1993-94 to 2006-07. This amazing record of excellence is highlighted by legendary Division I coach Bill Self and his University of Kansas Jayhawks who just tied LACC and coach Miller's long standing record of consecutive conference championships by the same coach.

Coach Miller scored his biggest victory off the court when a jury unanimously found him not guilty in a three week long jury trial in Department 54 of the Los Angeles Superior Court at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles. Coach Mike Miller was aggressively prosecuted and charged with 13 misdemeanor counts by the Los Angeles City Attorney Chadd Kim, who waited almost an entire year to bring the misdemeanor charges in case number 4CA00067 on November 17, 2014.

Because of Coach Miller's past successes as a college basketball coach and a noted author, the case received major media attention, specifically from KTLA Channel 5 News who falsely reported that Coach Miller was the owner of a Prep School and that he ran it out of his house as well as going to great lengths to detail the accusations made against Coach Miller. Neither Channel 5 News nor the L.A. Times bothered to provide further updates, nor subsequent articles on the outcome of the matter.

After a three week jury trial, commencing on June 8, 2015 and ending on June 30, 2015, the jury unanimously found Coach Miller not guilty of the serious charges of (i) Penal Code Section 243.4(E)(1) (i.e., the sexual battery claim against Miller) and (ii) four counts of Penal Code Section 242 (i.e., the battery claims against Miller). The court also dismissed all eight counts of Penal Code §647(J)(3)(A) (i.e., the claims that Miller used a concealed camera to view a person's body in a private room) in the furtherance of justice.

The Los Angeles Times article and KTLA Channel 5 news stories read in a vacuum and without further context of Coach Miller's resounding exoneration, is ultimately misleading to the public about the truth of the matter.

"Sex crimes are very easy to make up and very hard to defend," stated Former Prosecutor and Miller's defense attorney Joe Weimortz.

Throughout the proceedings Coach Miller steadfastly maintained his innocence and reflected on the absurdity of the charges: "This was like an abnormal psychology text book coming to life."

Miller stated in a recent exclusive interview on his own TV show: "It was like she (L.A. City Attorney Chadd Kim) didn't want to prove I was a vegetarian, she just wants to prove I don't eat meat."

After his new experience in the criminal justice system, Coach Miller is currently writing a book highlighting the insanity of the criminal justice system and in some cases the abuse of power that occurs by police and prosecutors.

Coach Michael ‘Mike’ Miller found not guilty by 12-0 vote in jury trial verdict in Los Angeles Superior Court

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Former Los Angeles City College (LACC) Coach and current CBA Commissioner, Michael Miller, exonerated on all charges in jury trial, the California Basketball Association (CBA) announced today. Miller, was unanimously found not guilty in a jury trial in Department 54 of the Los Angeles Superior Court at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in down town Los Angeles. Coach Miller was charged with 13 misdemeanor counts by the Los Angeles City Attorney in case number 4CA00067 on November 17, 2014.

Because of Coach Miller's past success as a college basketball coach the case received major media attention and Coach Miller was the subject of an article written for the Los Angeles Times on October 28, 2014 by Olga Grigoryants and Daina Beth Solomon.

The Article goes to great lengths to detail the accusations made against Coach Miller, but according to attorney JaQay Carlyle there are no details, updates nor subsequent articles from the Los Angeles Times on the outcome of the matter once it went to court.

After a three week jury trial, commencing on June 8, 2015 and ending on June 30, 2015, a jury unanimously found Coach Miller not guilty of (i) Penal Code Section 243.4(E)(1) (i.e., the sexual battery claim against Miller) and (ii) four counts of Penal Code Section 242 (i.e., the battery claims against Miller). Moreover, the court dismissed all eight counts of Penal Code §647(J)(3)(A) (i.e., the claims that Miller used a concealed camera to view a person's body in a private room) in the furtherance of justice.

The Los Angeles Times article, read in a vacuum and without further context of Coach Miller's exoneration, is tremendously damaging and embarrassing and is ultimately misleading to the public about the truth of this matter stated attorney JaQay Carlyle. Providing the not guilty verdict and dismissal of claims below, updates the facts and is important in the interest of justice.

When asked for a statement Coach Miller replied: "Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account." (Matthew 5:11.)

Coach Michael ‘Mike’ Miller Recognized as First Coach in California History to Win State Titles for High School and Community College

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Coach Michael "Mike" Miller has been recognized by the California Basketball Association for being the first coach in California history to win State Titles at the high school and Community College levels announced the California Basketball Association.

Coach Miller is also the youngest coach to ever win a state title at the high school level and community college levels. Coach "Mike" Michael Miller led his Ribet Academy boys' basketball team to a division V state title in the Oakland Coliseum in 1991. Coach Miller was 27 years old and already in his fourth year of being a high school varsity head coach.

Six years later a 33 year old coach Miller led his Los Angeles City College Cubs to a state title at the community college level. In doing so coach Miller became the first coach to ever accomplish this duel feat. Again, the location was Northern California, this time at San Jose State University over the local team from San Jose City College.

When asked about being recognized for his historical achievement coach Miller said: "I am both grateful and humbled to receive this recognition." Coach Miller went on to credit the players, assistant coaches and administrators, "I want to express my sincere gratitude to the administration at both schools who took a chance hiring me when I was so young. I also want to thank the many outstanding players and staff members who made this award possible."

Coach Miller was not only the first coach to win state titles at the high school and community college levels but also the youngest coach in California history to do so.

After Coach Miller achieved this unique accomplishment, a second coach, Reggie Morris completed the dual achievement. Coach Morris won his high school state title at Manual Arts high school and his community college championship at LA Southwest College. As of this time they are the only two coaches to ever complete this feat.

Currently Coach Miller is coaching a professional team in the California Basketball Association and Coach Morris is retired from coaching.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Former Los Angeles City College (LACC) and Junior College coaching legend Mike Miller has been named head coach of the California Basketball Association's newest expansion team, the Los Angeles Skyline.

From 1992 to 2008 coach Mike Miller led LACC's basketball program into a national prominence. Coach Miller become the winningest coach in LACC history in every category, including: a) most wins; b) winning percentage; c) conference championships; d) final eight appearances; e)state championships; and f) division one transfers.

His teams were models of consistency, demonstrated by setting a new national record of fourteen straight conference championships. This amazing streak started in 1993-94 and continued until 2006-07, breaking UCLA's old record of 13 (nine of which were won under John Wooden). Due to coach Miller's remarkable success he quickly became known as one of the youngest and most successful college head coaches in the entire country.

From 1999-2000 to 2006-07 the LACC teams compiled an overall record of 241-38 over eight seasons with a winning percentage of .864, exceeding all NCAA Division I Programs during the same time period.

Before LACC, Coach Miller experienced great success as a high school coach at Ribet Academy and Cathedral High School. As the head coach at Ribet Academy (Los Angeles, CA), Miller led them to unprecedented success as they captured two consecutive CIF Championships and a Division V State Championship. At Cathedral HS (Los Angeles, CA) coach Miller was the youngest head coach in the state at the age of 21. He led the "Phantoms" to the best two-year record in the eighty-five year history of the school. This included two Santa Fe league titles and two CIF Final Four appearances. In his four years as a high school head coach, Miller attained the fifth highest winning percentage in California high school history.

Coach Miller has been honored as "Coach of the Year" eighteen times in his nineteen full seasons as a head coach at both the high school and college levels and has coached EIGHT different teams to 30 or more wins.

Coach Miller was the first coach in California basketball history to win a State Championship at both the high school (1990-91 Ribet Academy) and college levels (1996-97 & 2002-03 LACC). At the age of 44 coach Miller had produced almost 500 colligate wins, more than any other coach in the history of college basketball at that age.
