IDS Announces Conversion to ZenDesk to Improve Mortgage Doc Prep Customer Service

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Mortgage document preparation vendor International Document Services, Inc. (IDS), announced it has converted its customer service platform to ZenDesk. The move is designed to better serve IDS customers and help the firm maintain its commitment to responding to all customer inquiries and requests effectively and efficiently.

"Responsive customer service has been a cornerstone of the IDS brand since its inception, and as a company, we're always looking for ways to improve the customer experience and ensure we are addressing all incoming customer communications in a timely manner," said IDS Vice President and General Manager Mark Mackey.

ZenDesk Support provides IDS a simple system for tracking, prioritizing and solving customer support tickets. By keeping all customer support interactions in one place, communication is seamless, personal and efficient, aiding in customer service productivity and customer satisfaction. In addition, ZenDesk supports easy collaboration between the IDS Client Support Team and other internal departments on the same ticket to address complex support issues. "Not only is this move good for our internal team, but it also provides our customers with a portal that allows them to more clearly see what is happening with their support request, thus providing additional assurances that the IDS team is on the case," Mackey added.

In addition, ZenDesk's Help Center functionality allows IDS Client Support representatives to tag old tickets by topic for easy sorting and reference, creating an ever-growing repository of common support questions to enable faster support resolution.

"Migrating to ZenDesk helps our customer service team streamline the support ticket process, ensuring that system issues, customization requests and all other inquiries are addressed promptly and to our customers' satisfaction every single time," Mackey said.

IDS Makes Fifth Appearance on HW TECH100

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Mortgage document preparation vendor International Document Services, Inc. (IDS), announced it has been named to the 2019 HW TECH100(TM) list published by mortgage industry trade magazine HousingWire. IDS was part of the inaugural TECH100 list, and 2019 marks the fifth year IDS has made the list.

"At IDS, our philosophy has always been to deliver innovative technology that is also rooted in reality to ensure it meets the current needs of our clients," said IDS Vice President and General Manager Mark Mackey. "To be recognized among the mortgage industry's best and brightest tech companies is truly an honor, and on behalf of IDS, I'd like to personally thank HousingWire for naming IDS as a Tech100 winner once again."

The HW TECH100 recognizes the top 100 fintech companies that are driving housing technology innovation. HousingWire editors noted the April 2018 release of IDS's Hybrid eClosing product as one of the reasons for including IDS on this year's list. Hybrid eClosings allow for faster, more seamless mortgage real estate closing transactions. The service is also integrated with IDS's Good Faith Analysis, which can help lenders avoid tolerance cures and meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's (CFPB) "Know Before You Owe" mandate to improve the borrower experience for consumers.

"This year's Tech100 list is stronger than ever! We leveraged a highly-qualified selection committee to review all nominations and guide the selection process. This extra layer of expertise and practical exposure to selected companies was influential in helping HousingWire recognize the 100 fintech companies that deserve the honor of being named the greatest players in the game," said HousingWire Editor-in-Chief Jacob Gaffney. "We couldn't be more proud of the innovators and entrepreneurs behind these organizations, and we hope you'll join us in celebrating their inclusion on the most prestigious list of its kind - the HW Tech100."

"These companies hold the most innovative and impactful technology in mortgage finance and continue to move markets forward with their new innovations," HousingWire Associate Editor Kelsey Ramírez said. "The future is bright for the mortgage industry, and it's because these companies continue to push the edge of what is possible."

IDS Adds Full Mortgage eClosing Capabilities with Release of ClickToClose

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Mortgage document preparation vendor International Document Services, Inc. (IDS), announced it has augmented its flagship doc prep platform idsDoc to include full eClosing capabilities through a new service called ClickToClose. Using ClickToClose, IDS clients are now able to execute loans digitally as far as investor requirements and jurisdictional regulations allow. As part of this development, IDS is now providing the MISMO(R) V3 Tamper Evident SMART Doc(R) PDF eNote standard.

"With major investors like Wells Fargo now accepting eNotes and the growing adoption of electronic and remote online notarization, the barriers to full eMortgage adoption are falling rapidly," said IDS Vice President and General Manager Mark Mackey. "IDS's position has always been to be responsive to market changes and to be ready to deliver the solutions our clients need when the timing is right for them."

ClickToClose extends the experience idsDoc users and their clients experience with idsDoc's initial disclosure eSign functionality, ensuring a consistent experience throughout the transaction. Through ClickToClose, lenders can electronically deliver the closing package prior to closing, allowing borrowers to familiarize themselves with the documents before reaching the closing table. On the day of closing, the lender enables the final set of documents and eSigns their portion of the closing package. From there, ClickToClose sends the documents to the borrower to allow them to eSign any documents that do not require notarization. At the closing ceremony, transaction participants log on to the ClickToClose portal to finalize and complete the transaction.

"IDS customers are already intimately familiar with our eSign Room so it was important to us to ensure that the eSign Room user experience carried over to ClickToClose to make the transition as easy as possible," added IDS National Sales and Marketing Director Matthew Mackey. "There is no question that the mortgage transaction of the future is entirely digital, and ClickToClose represents an important next step in the digital evolution of both IDS and our clients."

IDS Makes National Mortgage Professional’s Inaugural List of Top Mortgage Workplaces

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Mortgage document preparation vendor International Document Services, Inc. (IDS), announced it has been named to National Mortgage Professional magazine's inaugural list of Top Mortgage Employers in the Service Providers category. IDS was one of only 10 service providers to be recognized on this year's list.

Honorees were selected based on employee nominations, with a specific focus on the benefits and culture of their respective employers. According to the magazine's editorial staff, what distinguished IDS as a Top Mortgage Employer was the company's propensity for attracting, "thorough, thoughtful, fun-loving, tech-savvy individuals with a passion for customer service."

In addition, employees cited the firm's family-friendly culture as another reason for inclusion on this year's list, noting: "IDS's family-first mentality translates into not only offering exceptional employee benefits but also recognizing the very human essence of its employees' lives. Personal and professional milestones, such as birthdays and work anniversaries are routinely celebrated, and extra comfort and support are given to employees whose families are facing difficult circumstances."

"Mortgage is an inherently service-driven business, and IDS has always strived to reflect that reality in our own operations," said IDS Vice President and General Manager Mark Mackey. "Throughout our more than 30 years in business, we've been fortunate enough to have attracted so many talented, like-minded individuals and feel truly honored that our employees would classify us as a Top Mortgage Workplace."

IDS Caps Off a Successful 2018 with New Mortgage Doc Prep System Functionality, LOS Integrations, and Individual Honors

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Mortgage document preparation vendor International Document Services, Inc. (IDS), announced it completed 139 updates to its flagship mortgage document preparation platform idsDoc in 2018. These updates were made in response to regulatory, client and investor directives. They also included the addition of new digital mortgage functionality and loan origination system (LOS) integrations.

As a result of these efforts, several IDS employees were honored by national industry trade publications for their contributions to both IDS and the mortgage industry.

"2018 marked a significant year of growth and development for IDS and the idsDoc platform, and as we move into 2019, IDS is on track to continue that trend, with several major system updates in the works," said IDS Vice President and General Manager Mark Mackey. "With nearly 60 percent of our employees working in New Product Development, Software Development and Customer Service, our top priority is to provide our clients with the tools they need to succeed in today's market, and having the industry recognize our talented group of employees for those efforts was truly an honor."

IDS kicked off its major system updates in 2018 by announcing the addition of hybrid eClosing capabilities in idsDoc. The new functionality was designed in response to "real-world" investor acceptance of digitally executed mortgage transactions and allows borrowers to electronically sign and execute the majority of closing documents.

Next, IDS announced the addition of an integrated XML file creation and submission system specifically for the Uniform Closing Dataset (UCD) to help clients avoid critical and fatal errors in the GSEs' delivery systems. IDS also made significant changes to idsDoc in advance of the October 2018 implementation deadline for TRID 2.0. Changes to the system included Loan Estimate (LE) Estimated Cost Expiration date inputs, the availability of Alternative LE/Closing Disclosure (CD) forms for simultaneous subordinate financing, disclosure of seller paid fees and principal reductions, data entry for the Summary of Transactions and Liabilities and Payoffs, and updates to the rounding and truncation of percentages. There were also TRID 2.0-related updates made to the LE/CD and Totals pages and the 1003 and Construction Lending sections in idsDoc.

In addition, IDS rolled out a brand new interface with MortgageFlex Systems in October 2018 that operates on the MISMO Version 3.3 data standard, ensuring joint IDS-MortgageFlex customers are able to fully comply with a host of regulatory requirements that operate off the MISMO Version 3.3 standard, including the UCD and TRID 2.0.

These efforts earned several IDS employees industry recognition in 2018. IDS In-House Counsel and Compliance Officer Vince Wilson was named to HousingWire Magazine's 2018 HW Rising Stars list, and Implementation Expert Tobias Griffith was also recognized by the publication as a 2018 Insiders Award honoree. Additionally, Beckie Santos, IDS's New Product Development Manager, was named to Mortgage Professional America's 2018 Elite Women in Mortgage list as well as HousingWire's 2018 Women of Influence list.

Continuing to strive for internal excellence, IDS announced in November the promotion of two employees to provide additional support in mission-critical areas of the organization. Former Manager of Implementation Clint Salisbury moved to the Sales and Marketing team, and Travis Carroll, who previously worked on the Integrations team, moved into Salisbury's role as head of the Implementation department.

"By building on the achievements and strategic personnel decisions we made in 2018, 2019 promises to bring even more exciting changes for IDS and its customers, and we look forward to continuing to help our clients meet the challenges of today while planning for the demands of tomorrow," Mackey said.

IDS Develops Fresh MortgageFlex Integration to Support Latest MISMO Standards

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Mortgage document preparation vendor International Document Services, Inc. (IDS), announced it has built a brand new interface with mortgage loan origination and servicing technology provider MortgageFlex Systems that operates on the MISMO(R) Version 3.3 data standard. Developing a new integration based on this advanced data standard ensures joint IDS-MortgageFlex customers are able to fully comply with a host of regulatory requirements that operate off the MISMO Version 3.3 standard, including TRID 2.0 and the Uniform Mortgage Data Program (UMDP).

"One of the keys to ensuring a seamless, user-friendly experience for our clients is developing and maintaining integrations with the industry's leading LOS platforms," said IDS Vice President and General Manager Mark Mackey. "Re-building our integration with MortgageFlex to MISMO 3.3 sets our mutual clients up for success in October when TRID 2.0 goes live while also providing a more updated data standard from which they can operate for the foreseeable future."

An IDS partner since 2014, MortgageFlex supports retail, wholesale and correspondent lending channels through its MortgageFlexONE Origination platform. By utilizing a blind interface with IDS's flagship mortgage document preparation platform idsDoc, joint users are able to complete all document preparation functions within MortgageFlexONE Origination, ensuring it remains the system of record throughout the transaction and eliminating potential data transfer errors.

In addition, MortgageFlexONE users also have access to additional functionality within idsDoc from the MortgageFlexONE Origination platform, including hybrid eClose and eSign capabilities and a full range of state and federal compliance audits.

"Developing a MISMO 3.3 document interface was important to us. We believe that building a lights out integration with a leading partner like IDS and using MIMSO 3.3 will only benefit our current and future clients," said Craig Bechtle, executive vice president and Chief Operating Officer at MortgageFlex. "We all know that the new loan application will require extensive data changes and we feel comfortable that we have addressed a big part of that migration."

IDS Completes TRID 2.0 Updates to Mortgage Document Preparation Platform

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Mortgage document preparation vendor International Document Services, Inc. (IDS), announced it has completed modifications to its flagship mortgage document preparation platform idsDoc related to TRID 2.0.

The changes, which went live in idsDoc earlier this month, include updates to the rounding and truncation of percentages, Loan Estimate (LE) Estimated Cost Expiration date inputs, the availability of Alternative LE/Closing Disclosure (CD) forms for simultaneous subordinate financing, disclosure of seller paid fees and principal reductions, and data entry for the Summary of Transactions and Liabilities and Payoffs. In addition, TRID 2.0-related updates were also made to the LE/CD and Totals pages within idsDoc, as well as the 1003 and Construction Lending sections.

"While the next iteration of TRID doesn't represent quite the sea change that the October 2015 rule did, there are still quite a few elements in TRID 2.0 that will change how lenders operate day-to-day, and we feel confident that the modifications we've made to idsDoc will help smooth our clients' transition to TRID 2.0," said IDS Vice President and General Manager Mark Mackey. "If they have not already done so, we highly encourage our clients to make themselves familiar not only with the amendments to the TRID rule, but also the corresponding changes with idsDoc prior to October 1 to ensure a successful implementation."

In addition to the document-related changes outlined above, TRID 2.0 also closes the "black hole" created by the initial version of the rule, thus allowing lenders, in certain instances, to reissue a CD to reset tolerances after the original CD was issued.

"With TRID 2.0, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has offered some much-needed clarity on the issue of under what circumstances lenders can re-issue the CD without penalty," Mackey added. "This, along with the other rule clarifications contained in TRID 2.0, should give lenders greater certainty that they are operating within both the letter and spirit of the regulation."

IDS clients can find additional information on TRID 2.0, including webinar recordings and other documentation, under the "Resources" tab in idsDoc. Non-IDS clients wishing to gain access to these materials should contact can contact marketing@idsdoc.com.
