SimpleNexus integrates with Finicity’s Mortgage Verification Service to give lenders a simpler, faster way to verify borrower assets, income and employment

LEHI, Utah -- SimpleNexus (https://simplenexus.com/), developer of the leading homeownership platform for loan officers, borrowers, real estate agents and settlement agents, today announced an integration with Finicity's Mortgage Verification Service (MVS) that allows lenders to streamline the verification of applicants' assets, income and employment using a single embedded service.

Finicity (https://www.finicity.com), a Mastercard company and leading provider of open banking solutions, launched MVS in February. The service leverages consumer-permissioned bank and payroll data to provide accurate, real-time insight into a borrower's current assets, income and employment in minutes, without any paperwork. MVS has helped lenders shave up to 12 days off the origination process and is accepted by both Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, making loans eligible for rep and warrant relief.

SimpleNexus is the first mortgage point-of-sale (POS) platform to offer Finicity's MVS as an integrated solution. Without ever leaving the SimpleNexus mobile app, borrowers can use MVS to complete asset, income and employment verification in a few simple steps that take just minutes to complete. Lenders receive validated payroll, paystub and bank account data in real time and can refresh the data within 10 days of the loan closing as needed to fulfill investor requirements.

"Our integration with Finicity's Mortgage Verification Service delivers GSE-accepted verification of assets, income and employment in one easy interaction," said SimpleNexus Chief Product Officer Shane Westra. "The entire process takes place in minutes within the simple, familiar SimpleNexus app that borrowers and loan officers rely on throughout the homebuying journey."

"Digital experiences that simplify our lives are the rule of the day," said Finicity Chief Product Officer Nick Thomas. "The integration of Finicity's Mortgage Verification Service into the innovative SimpleNexus platform furthers this vision with a simple, intuitive digital process for verifying income, assets and employment in a single online experience."

"By embedding Finicity's income and employment verifications within S1 Connect, just as we previously integrated Finicity's asset verification, we have once again significantly empowered our clients and streamlined the home approval process," said Synergy One CEO Steve Majerus. Synergy One's 275 loan officers use a white-labeled version of SimpleNexus under the S1 Connect moniker.

"Early on I recognized that SimpleNexus is more than another technology tool for lenders. Our team's empathy for our customers and enthusiasm for continuously improving the homebuying process is driving SimpleNexus to develop innovative tools that are fundamentally changing the mortgage experience for the better," said Schreiner Gates. SimpleNexus applauds Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) for targeting federal Remote Online Notarization (RON) legislation as National Advocacy Conference priority

LEHI, Utah -- SimpleNexus (https://simplenexus.com/), developer of the leading homeownership platform for loan officers, borrowers, real estate agents and settlement agents, today praised the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) for naming federal Remote Online Notarization (RON) legislation as a core issue of its National Advocacy Conference.

"Our industry has taken sweeping measures to provide mortgage consumers with the mobile and online home buying experience they prefer, but existing notarial laws impede the shift in technology," said SimpleNexus Founder and CEO Matt Hansen. "To date, only 32 states have passed RON-enabling legislation, hindering the housing finance industry's ability to provide a broad swath of American homebuyers with the safety and convenience of a remote online closing ceremony. SimpleNexus commends the Mortgage Bankers Association for leading the charge on this critical issue."

The MBA is coordinating with association partners and members to encourage Congress to reintroduce and enact The Securing and Enabling Commerce Using Remote Online Notarization Act (SECURE Notarization Act). Initially introduced with bipartisan sponsorship as Senate Bill 3533 in March 2020, the SECURE Notarization Act would permit immediate nationwide use of RON with minimum standards necessary to protect consumer data and provide certainty for the interstate recognition of RON. States with existing RON laws on the books would retain the flexibility to implement their own RON standards.

Each year, the MBA organizes housing finance stakeholders for its National Advocacy Conference to directly educate lawmakers about key industry policy priorities and hear directly from elected officials. This year's conference will be held virtually, May 11-12, 2021.

SimpleNexus enhances its eClose solution with remote online notarization (RON), enabling mortgage lenders to execute full eClosings

LEHI, Utah -- SimpleNexus (https://simplenexus.com/), developer of the leading homeownership platform for loan officers, borrowers, real estate agents and settlement agents, today announced SimpleNexus eClose now supports remote online notarization (RON), enabling lenders to efficiently conduct fully-digital eClosings.

SimpleNexus eClose brings together borrowers, lenders, settlement agents and notaries for a collaborative and efficient closing experience. Integrated eSign capabilities offer borrowers the modern convenience of signing eDocuments on any web-enabled device, including mobile phones. Intelligent workflows improve lender efficiency by automatically updating documents across all platforms and alerting lenders when actions have been completed. eClosing portal access for settlement agents more closely engages them in the process.

In a RON eClosing, or full eClose, all documents are eSigned and electronically notarized by a commissioned remote online notary via webcam. SimpleNexus has partnered with market-leading, MISMO RON standard certified remote online notarization provider Notarize to debut RON in its eClose environment. In the future, SimpleNexus will partner with additional RON vendors.

"Remote online notarization is rewiring the closing experience for the digital era, making it simple, more efficient, and secure to close from anywhere, any time. In all market conditions, consumers are clamoring for the technology that streamlines closing, and Notarize is thrilled to be on the SimpleNexus eClose platform to close that 'last mile' of the transaction to make full eClosings a reality," said Pat Kinsel, Notarize Co-Founder and CEO.

With the addition of RON to SimpleNexus eClose, lenders can provide borrowers with a fully digital, single sign-on homebuying experience from application to closing. Currently, 32 U.S. states allow full eClosings in which all loan closing documents are eSigned and remotely notarized. RON bills have been introduced in several other states and at the Federal level.

"SimpleNexus is committed to delivering lenders with a one-stop platform that seamlessly guides borrowers throughout the entire homeownership journey," said SimpleNexus President Cathleen Schreiner Gates. "The added capability of RON, which enables full eClose, gives lenders and borrowers the choice to make closing as digital as they want. In addition to improved borrower experience, full eClose offers lenders substantial return on innovation with improved operational efficiency, greater data integrity and faster delivery of loans to the secondary market."

To date, SimpleNexus empowers 300 mortgage lenders to "do more," by connecting its 34,000 active LO users with more than 3 million borrowers and 141,000 real estate partners to produce 13 million mortgages totaling more than $3 trillion in volume.

Embrace Home Loans Launching SimpleNexus Homeownership Platform for Its 300 Retail Mortgage Loan Officers in 2021

LEHI, Utah -- Top-ranked mortgage lender Embrace Home Loans today announced plans to roll out SimpleNexus, the leading homeownership platform for loan officers (LOs), borrowers, real estate agents and settlement agents, to more than 300 retail mortgage LOs before the end of the year.

SimpleNexus is currently the mortgage industry's leading point-of-sale platform, serving more than 300 lenders across the United States. Embrace Home Loans is the first lender to leverage SimpleNexus in conjunction with Black Knight(r)'s Empower(r) loan origination system (LOS). Other unique aspects of the implementation include a new mobile disclosures integration with First American Docutech(r) and a first-of-its-kind feature that will allow borrowers to pay for appraisals in-app using a credit card.

"Embrace has been an amazing partner and has pushed us to extend SimpleNexus' already market-leading feature set. We can't wait to see how loan officers and borrowers respond to the improved experience," said SimpleNexus Founder and CEO Matt Hansen. "Moreover, this partnership could serve as a model for future Empower LOS users who would like to experience the benefits of SimpleNexus' end-to-end homeownership platform."

Embrace Home Loans was founded in 1983 as a consumer-direct lender headquartered in Middletown, Rhode Island, and has been steadily growing its retail origination channel since 2009. In addition to its consumer direct platform, the company currently employs more than 300 loan officers at branches along the East Coast. Embrace believes the new integration will empower its loan officers to provide even greater customer service, according to Customer Experience Director and Vice President Meghan Handy.

"We've been in business for 38 years, so we have a clear perspective on how to customize things for our team. We needed a solution that was LO-centric and pliable enough to let our team continue serving customers and Realtors in the way they prefer," said Handy. "SimpleNexus offers that kind of flexibility while at the same time equipping our LOs for success in the booming purchase market by transforming the way they work with borrowers and Realtors."

Embrace employees can expect a gradual phase-in of the SimpleNexus platform over the next several months. Handy expects her company will be delivering an improved customer experience - and seeing a measurable lift to loan volume - before the end of 2021.
