Capital Subaru of Greensboro to Hold Dog Appreciation Day Event

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Capital Subaru of Greensboro will host a free dog wash event in honor of Subaru's "Make a Dog's Day" effort. Sparked by the "Subaru Loves Pets" initiative, the Greensboro dealership will welcome dogs and their owners to enjoy the celebration, spotlighting their support for the love and well-being of our furry friends.

Pet washing services will be provided by Kinder Grooming, a local mobile pet spa. Space is limited so it will be necessary to reserve a spot for your pooch for that day.

"This day will be an opportunity for our dealership to enjoy and engage with our community of pet lovers," remarked Ken Fanelli, general manager of Capital Subaru of Greensboro. "We get to take part in a fun and caring event. We all could use a little joy these days, and dogs certainly add that aspect to our lives."

While Subaru of America reaffirms its commitment to pets in need for the month of October, Capital Subaru of Greensboro has invited the Guilford County Animal Services to join in the event. They will arrive with a mobile pet van with dogs waiting to be adopted. All are welcome to come and pet them even if you don't have a dog to wash.

All proceeds and donations for the day will go to SPCA of the Triad.

The event will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 801 East Bessemer Ave., Greensboro, NC, 27405.

Brent Grablachoff donates $500 to Hurricane Dorian Relief in the Bahamas

AUSTIN, Texas -- Kicking World owner Brent Grablachoff contributed $500 to the Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund in the Bahamas, set up by the large crowdsourced funding platform GlobalGiving.

Hurricane Dorian's devastating impact caused catastrophic losses throughout the Caribbean nation of the Bahamas, particularly the small islands of The Abacos and Grand Bahama.

"I've been very fortunate to visit various islands of the Bahamas over the years and its beautiful, clear turquoise water always draws me in. It's hard to fathom the destruction that took place, with some parts of the Abaco Islands completely decimated. My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by this terrible hurricane in the Bahamas and beyond," said Brent Grablachoff, owner of Kicking World.

The GlobalGiving Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund states that all donations will exclusively support relief and recovery efforts in areas impacted by Hurricane Dorian. Initially, the fund will help first responders meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, hygiene products, and shelter. The fund will transition to support longer-term recovery efforts run by local, vetted organizations in The Bahamas, the United States and the Caribbean.

University Kia Shows Support of Local Charities

DURHAM, N.C. -- In addition to opening a brand new showroom on August 30, 2019, University Kia showed their support of local community by presenting Meals on Wheels Chapel Hill - Carrboro with a donation of more than $10,000. This appropriation will help seniors and adults with disabilities in the Chapel Hill - Carrboro area gain access to hot and balanced meals that they otherwise would not be able to receive.

During the months of July and August, University Kia donated a portion of every new Kia sold to Meals on Wheels Chapel Hill - Carrboro. The total amount was raised over the two-month period and was presented to them as a lump-sum of $10,239.

"We are incredibly grateful for our community partners, like University Kia, who really enable us to feed the hungry in our area," said Rachel Sobel Berman, Executive Director at Meals on Wheels Chapel Hill - Carrboro.

Positive Impact:
As an ongoing commitment to the community, University Kia and Meals on Wheels Chapel Hill-Carrboro joined forces to help feed the elderly and homebound in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro area. Back in early spring, University Kia generously donated a new 2019 Kia Soul to Meals on Wheels Chapel Hill-Carrboro to help them continue to provide hot, nutritious meals and personal visits to more than 180 recipients in the Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and southern Orange County areas who are unable to prepare meals for themselves.

"With our store now closer to Chapel Hill, we decided to partner with Meals on Wheels. We were able to donate the new 2019 Kia Soul to the program and we even had it custom vinyl wrapped so that it would stand out when people see it on the street. We are hoping that this raises awareness for the good that Meals on Wheels is doing for the Chapel Hill and Carrboro communities. We also could not have done this venture without the help of WCHL radio in Chapel Hill," said Aric Swanger, General Manager of University Kia.

University Auto Group has been serving the Triangle for over 30 years. Since inception, University Kia has made its mission to provide outstanding customer service and to create a one-of-a-kind car buying experience. In an industry that is ever-changing, University Kia remains committed to its customers, staff, and communities it serves.
