Trauma and Substance Abuse Survivor Turned Writer and Entrepreneur, Shannan Mondor Turns Addiction Into Triumph In Debut Memoir

CALGARY, Alberta -- "HOW IN THE HELL DID I GET HERE? Forever Changing the Genetic Blueprint" (ISBN: 978-0228871224) is a riveting and raw story of how author Shannan Mondor overcame alcoholism and mental illness and broke free from the genetic blueprint of addiction that demonized her family for generations.

She sets you in a front row seat as she shares her life story and experiences, which show the strength, determination and courage of how she no longer wanted to continue with this way of life, and how she would do whatever it took to protect her children from being exposed to a life of addiction that is so normalized and influenced within society.

She teaches about addiction and the consequences of speaking her truth. She fights past fear, loneliness and judgment to end her inner pain that has haunted her for years, and finds inner peace. Along her path she realizes how life is a spiritual journey and there is a lesson to be learned with every experience, personal encounter and relationship. Mondor is sharing her inspiring story in the highly anticipated memoir "HOW IN THE HELL DID I GET HERE? Forever Changing the Genetic Blueprint."

"HOW IN THE HELL DID I GET HERE? Forever Changing the Genetic Blueprint" (Tellwell Publishing, March, 2022), takes readers through Mondor's rehab and recovery journey and showcases how important it is to have a relationship with yourself, that you have the power to change everything, and it all comes from within.

"I've learned that there is nothing more powerful than the strength that I have inside me and EVERYTHING starts there. I am the only one in control of my life. I make all the decisions. By facing my fears and being truthful of who I am, my past, accepting all my good and bad qualities, I've learned to love myself and then I started to heal. This was the most powerful thing I have ever experienced and it has changed my life forever. For the first time in my life, I have complete clarity of who I am, where I am going and what my life purpose is," said Mondor when reflecting on her experience. "I hope that my readers will look at their own life story and be able to relate to what I am saying and make the right decisions for themselves in their own lives."

Not a victim, but a survivor, Mondor reclaimed her power after years of trauma, substance abuse and poor relationships. She now has four beautiful children, a husband and a successful career sharing her story as an inspirational speaker and now as a published author.

In addition to writing and speaking engagements, Mondor has created a brand with the motto "Fear Fighter". It is no surprise that Mondor and her Fear Fighter brand thrive off of promoting living a positive, fearless and powerful lifestyle. "I have dedicated my life to teaching people through my own experiences about addiction about how to find their power within. I speak in depth on how I tackled my fears and what I learned throughout my journey".

Legacy Launch Pad Publishing releases book addressing doctor burnout by Dr. Patrick Tran

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Legacy Launch Pad Publishing is releasing "Burn-In: A Doctors Guide to Finding Happiness, Avoiding Burnout and Catching FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early)" (ISBN 978-19514079-0), the second book by Dr. Patrick Tran.

The book is the result of Dr. Tran's journey from surviving to thriving as well as his guide to investing based on his own financial experience to the tune of over $22 million in real estate assets.

While Tran has long been passionate about helping other doctors avoid burnout, his focus shifted when his two-year-old son Adrian was diagnosed with cancer. That's when he realized he could fall apart or find a new faith. He decided on the latter, and with Adrian's future still uncertain, he committed to focusing not on why his son had gotten sick but instead on the fact that medical advances would help Adrian beat his cancer with surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.

Tran's story is one of recommitment to both his relationships with his family and living in the moment-a crucial message for the medical profession at a time when many doctors are being pushed past their respective breaking points. As much a call-to-arms for doctors who are sacrificing their own health to serve their patients as a guide to achieving financial freedom, "Burn-In" should, as ER doctor and author Dr. Jaime Hope says, "be required reading for medical students."

"The dual mission in the book works so well because it comes from Patrick's own specific point-of-view," says publisher Anna David. "Despite being outrageously intelligent and wise beyond his years, he's an incredibly unique - dare I say shockingly unique? - person, and that shows throughout the book."

This moving, instructive guide to a life well-lived reveals the secrets to mindset elevation, techniques for personal fulfillment and strategies for building wealth through real estate in a way no book ever has before.

"Burn-In: A Guide for Doctors on Finding Happiness, Avoiding Burnout and Catching FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early)" is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, among many other outlets.

New Book About Conquering Addiction Receives Book Excellence Award

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- "Life is Crying" (ISBN: 978-1641119849) by Benzena Brown, recently received the Book Excellence Award Finalist - an international book awards' competition dedicated to recognizing independent and traditionally-published authors and publishers for excellence in writing, design and overall market appeal.

The ultimate goal of "Life is Crying" is to assist individuals and families suffering with chemical dependency to achieve a healthy lifestyle and to get the needed support for recovery. It also alerts family and friends of the dangers and consequences of substance abuse, with the intention to limit this horrible, threatening and life altering dilemma that can be defined as a mouse trap or chasing the dragon.

The book recognizes chemical dependency as a universal outcry and struggle for the addict, family and friends. It demonstrates how chemical dependency is widespread just like the sky, all over the world. Chemical dependency is classified as a mental health disorder. The dilemma of chemical dependency can be an innocent curiosity leading to disaster as it is like a sharp piercing blade that stabs the mind/brain.

Alarming fact, chemical dependency can begin at youth. Chemical dependency is not reserved for the young or old. It can start at any age. When chemical dependency sets in, it takes over the body and mind.

Brown recognizes addiction provides a thrilling and sensational pleasure which often leads to repetitive use inflicting pain, suffering, agony and intense craving. The consequences of the intoxicating pain can make the body feel like a bunch of French fries sizzling in scalding hot cooking oil. The riptide of chemical dependency has landed on the victim and has added a helpless feeling and challenge to life.

"And, while the challenges of addiction may seem like a spinning top failing to fall on its side, help is available," Brown says.

From intervention and drug rehabilitation to mental health, to drug counseling, and relapse, help is available. Intervention

programs allow family or friends to persuade, guide and gently convince the victim that he/she needs help and help is available. Other programs provide in-house stays for chemical dependency individuals and are designed to meet the needs of the specific individual.

Brown advocates that education is the best source for understanding addiction and its consequences.

"A blinking yellow light can change to a red stop light," she says.

ATLANTA, Ga. -- "Through It All I'm Still Standing" (ISBN: 978-1735052519) is the first book from the talented writer and publisher Towanna Hogue as she shares her personal experiences surviving several challenges, including marriage, divorce, cancer, and starting over with readers worldwide.

The self-help book aims to bring awareness to narcissistic personality disorder and emotional abuse, with the hope of helping people in similar situations and their families deal with the effects of the unfortunate phenomena.

YouTube Video:

There seems to be an unfortunate increase in the rate of divorce and marital challenges. Such issues, coupled with uncontrollable circumstances like chronic illnesses, have majorly affected women. Unfortunately, there are not too many resources to help victims get past such tribulations. This is where Towanna Hogue is looking to make a difference by giving a first-hand narration to millions of people, using herself as a case study.

"Through It All I'm Still Standing" is a story about experiencing love, trials, tribulations, abuse, loss, strength, endurance, faith, triumphs, and deliverance. Towanna aims to help readers tap into their spirituality by connecting to the Supreme Being to handle their affairs, no matter how challenging life may seem.

New Self Help Book Reveals How PI and People Are Related

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Inspired by the mathematical standard PI, Gary Neal, Jr., author, "A Healthy Slice of PI: Food for Thought" (ISBN: 978-1698977850), is helping people to identify, manage and thrive off real-life situations by providing a unique insight into why people become who they are. He's also the founder of Pride and Egoos, a clothing and wearable accessories company. This is his first book.

A military veteran of 10 years, Neal has witnessed a rising suicide rate among his fellow service members and he hopes this book will entertain, but also provide helpful commentary leading to a reversal of this trend.

"When difficult situations arise or challenging people are met, knowing and understanding who we are gives us an advantage in everyday life," Neal says.

The philosophy portrayed in the book relates to the uniqueness of PI and how it relates to people. "A Healthy Slice of PI" took several years to write and Neal attributes this fresh perspective to years spent overseas and time spent in different countries.

The book humanizes PI and explains how people are similar to this mysterious number. Neal says the only thing comparable to PI is people.

Neal has always been fascinated with people and philosophy. He's encountered many people from different cultures. Whether a first essential personnel at the Pentagon during 9/11 or assisting missions in remote parts of Afghanistan, Neal is intrigued by what makes people tick.

"The book is designed to give people food for thought," Neal says.

Neal loves writing poetry and the book incorporates some of this writing. The poems in the book are creatively written to inspire dialog about sensitive subjects. Readers of his poetry have expressed great enthusiasm for his writing and many have been waiting for him to finish this book.

About the Author

Gary Neal, Jr. has lived overseas for roughly 14 years in South Korea, Kuwait and Afghanistan. He has successfully embarked on building his brand Pride and Egoos (pronounced egos). When broken down, the acronyms Pride and Egoos stand for "People Representing Individuality Diversity Equality/Everybody Got Our Own Story." The brand was created to encourage creativity and celebrate diversity.

Dr. Lauren Goodall (PsyD) Releases Her Ground-Breaking Self-Help Book, ‘Bipolar is Not an STD’

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Dr. Lauren Goodall (PsyD), releases her ground-breaking self-help book, "Bipolar is not an STD" (ISBN: 978-1543975581), Dr. Goodall designed the book around getting people better faster. She wanted a book that could be finished over the course of a weekend; not something that would take a long period of time to plow through.

There are distinctive compasses in the book. "People always confuse Personality disorders, with mood problems. That's like confusing north from west. You won't end up in the right place; confusing the two," says Goodall. Instead of talking about the usual in relationships, she goes beyond affairs and relationship screw-ups that people don't recognize. "There are a million ways to screw up a relationship besides affairs."

In further conversation with Dr. Goodall, she named her book, "Bipolar is not An STD." In her translation of the title - "Too many people look at the word Bipolar and attach stigma that isn't warranted. I've spent a full career working with these people. Bipolar can be confusing more than it's hard. Ineffective symptom reporting, and lack of treatment is hard!"

Dr. Goodall looks to drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to recognize mood symptoms, and get better diagnosis; rather than the current research-based average of 6 years.

The reason, she believes, this number is so high, is because people cannot self-report their symptoms well, and "bad diagnosis information is a waste of time, money, and quality of life. Good therapy helps a lot, but a lack of understanding medical underpinnings and how they coordinate with the Psychological is a big piece of missing information. Both are critical for getting the job done."

"Bipolar is not an STD," is currently released and available in softcover thru her website, E-book is available thru Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other major book retailers.

Softcover will be available to retailers on August 5, 2019. Dr. Goodall is available for interview by contacting her via the above website.

From the youngest varsity head coach in the state of California at age 21 to the youngest head college coach in the country at age 26, coach Miller has modeled consistency and greatness throughout his remarkable coaching career.

In his four years as a high school head coach, Coach Mike Miller attained the fifth highest winning percentage in California high school history. Coach Miller is the first coach in California basketball history to win a State Championship at both the high school (1990-91 Ribet Academy) and college levels (1996-97 & 2002-03 LACC).

From 1992 to 2008 coach Michael "Mike" Miller led Los Angeles City College's (LACC) basketball program into a national prominence for a record breaking 16 years as men's head coach and director of athletics. Coach Miller's LACC teams have won over 80% of their games during his tenure, including four straight 30+ WIN SEASONS (1999-2000 to 2002-03). His teams were models of consistency, as demonstrated by setting a new national record of fourteen straight conference championships. This amazing streak started in 1993-94 and continued until 2006-07, breaking UCLA's old record of 13 (nine of which were won under John Wooden).

Additionally this amazing book is dedicated to coach John Wooden, who impacted coach Miller's career in many important ways serving as a mentor and teacher. Coach Miller stated one of the greatest compliments he ever received was when an opposing college coach commented after a game: "Coach Miller, You guys at Los Angeles City College run the UCLA high post better than UCLA ever did," said Gary Williams, head coach at Long Beach City College.

From 1999-2000 to 2006-07 the LACC teams compiled an overall record of 241-38 over eight seasons with a winning percentage of .864, exceeding all NCAA Division I Programs during the same time period. Coach Miller is most proud of producing almost 100 Division I players; thought to rank first in the nation during this same time period.

Currently Coach Michael "Mike" Miller is entering his third year as California Basketball Association (CBA) President and Commissioner, after having coached the Los Angeles Skyline of the CBA to an undefeated season in 2016-17.

Before taking the reins of the CBA Coach Miller spent a year with the Los Angeles Lakers observing Phil Jackson during his last season in Los Angeles. This valuable experience ingrained and reinforced in coach Miller the importance of knowledge and intelligence for coaching success and inspired him to write this book. This book is dedicated to Former Lakers coach Phil Jackson who is considered by coach Miller to be the greatest professional basketball coach of all time.

Coach Miller has been honored as "Coach of the Year" eighteen times in his nineteen full seasons as a head coach at both the high school and college levels. He has produced almost 100 Division One players while coaching eight different teams to 30 or more wins and joining the 500 win club by the young age of 44.
