NEW YORK, N.Y. – Jan. 2 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Who better to ask than You, Time Magazine’s Person of the Year? AmIAnnoying.com, the site that gives a voice to thousands of visitors daily, and millions per year, has released its sixth annual list of the Most and Least Annoying Celebrities of 2006. Throughout the year, visitors browsed and voted on over 19,500 famous celebrities and groups, sharing their opinions on who they found annoying and not annoying. The longest running, and only user driven list, revealed some surprise selections of who people around the world found annoying and not annoying.
Star Jones tops the Most Annoying list this year. Her sudden and bitter departure from The View stood out most in 2006, along with her evasive explanations about her weight loss and alleged kickbacks for on-air product plugs. Voters also seemed to be put-off by her desperation for diva credibility. Donald Trump and Paris Hilton were a close second and third respectively.
Running away with this year’s Least Annoying honor is Beyonce Knowles. The pop princess is currently riding the explosive success of her sophomore solo album, ‘B-Day,’ and is receiving exceptional reviews for her role as Deena Jones in ‘Dreamgirls.’ Beyonce also won 9 Grammys this year and appeared in ad campaigns for L’Oreal and Tommy Hilfiger. Other celebrities topping this list include Carmen Electra, Nicole Kidman, Ralph Fiennes, and Evangeline Lilly.

This year’s polls are released in an increasingly crowded field of copy-cat lists, but AmIAnnoying.com’s original public opinion poll continues to experience strong popularity. “It’s interesting to see how voters are clearly not represented in these so-called polls published by the rag magazines you find on the grocery store check-out lines. To be honest, my personal annoying list would start with Mel Gibson and Michael Richards, but that’s the beauty of our site: It’s continuously driven throughout the year by millions of internet users and not a small handful of clowns trying to sell a few papers,” said Marc Cutler, co-founder of AmIAnnoying.com.
Bruce Goldman, also a co-founder of the site added “All celebrities have a fair chance to get voted into the Most or Least Annoying Lists on AmIAnnoying.com. That’s the unique idea that makes our lists so appealing to the public. It’s your votes. Your lists!”

AmIAnnoying.com was launched in December 2000 by Bruce Goldman, Keith Furman, and Marc Cutler. The founders’ original objective was no loftier than to good-naturedly pick on a small handful of celebrities that “annoyed” them. You know, folks such as Keanu Reeves, Star Jones, William Shatner and Mike Tyson. The site found a large audience almost immediately. While they suspected there was universal appeal in poking fun at the rich and famous, the AmIAnnoying.com founders were shocked by the initial response.
Since 2000, their database of celebrities has grown to include over 19,500 profiles. Thousands of people visit the site daily to share their opinions on which celebrities annoy them most. Since the site’s inception, a loyal community also sprung up around the site. Some 2500 die-hard members participate in the AmIAnnoying.com discussion forum and many submit extensive user-edited profiles for publication.
