CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Aug. 17 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — nPulse Network Systems, LLC, a leading developer of 10Gbps network sensors for monitoring, forensics and security applications, has announced the “Wireshark Edition” of its popular PCAP Express Box appliance.
Wireshark is the world’s most widely-used network protocol analyzer and a reference standard in companies and institutions worldwide. nPulse’s Wireshark Edition integrates the application into a high-performance PCAP server, providing traffic record, retrieve and replay functions at up to 10Gbps. Captured traffic is stored in standard PCAP file format for easy analysis by Wireshark or similar applications.
John Bruno, Co-Founder and CEO of CACE Technologies (www.cacetech.com), the lead sponsor of the Wireshark project, said, “nPulse is delivering on two critical requirements for the success of open-source solutions in today’s marketplace. The first is in simplifying the application of popular tools like Wireshark to very high-speed network traffic, in this case up to 10Gbps. The second is in providing the commercial support, training and related services which will ease the adoption of open-source products by corporate users.”
“Our core customers are skilled network engineers who are comfortable working at the Linux command line interface,” said Peter Shaw, Vice-President at nPulse Networks. “For enterprise and Government customers, who might have been cautious about deploying open-source tools in the past, we now have a partner network that provides the deployment, training and support services these customers expect.”
PCAP Express Box appliances for 10Gbps applications are already deployed by the Federal Government, major contractors, a leading telecom manufacturer and at large ISP’s in both the U.S. and Europe. The company says it also has active projects in the financial and research communities.
