Since the foundation of Arizona’s wine industry, the Harvesting of the Vine Fine Wine Festival presented by The Village of Elgin has awarded scholarships and helped to fund local law enforcement programs such as DARE. It has also allowed area wineries to showcase the fruits of the Arizona vine and provided festival goers with arts, crafts, foods and music. The festival annually crowns the Arizona Grape Stomping Royalty.
The Harvesting of the Vine Fine Wine Festival will take place on September 28 and 29, 2013 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., at a cost of $15 per person over 21. Anyone under 21 enters for free, food and non-alcoholic beverages are available at additional cost.
Buzz and the Soul Senders will provide the musical accompaniment to the festivities. The crowning of the King and Queen of Arizona Grape Stomping will take place daily around 1:30 and is a highlight of the festival. Priests will bless the new wines, in a private ceremony. Santa Cruz County Sheriff Estrada will be on hand to receive the DARE donation. Over 30 wines will be available to sample and purchase. Hot dogs, chips, soda, water, breads and desserts will be available for purchase throughout the day.

The Village of Elgin is located 55 miles southeast from Tucson heading east on I-10 take exit 281 off Arizona Highway 83 and head south for 24 miles until you come to Sonoita. Continue on Highway 83 for another 4.5 miles and make a left. The winery will be 4 miles on your right hand side.
