Multi-Flow Industries, a fountain-beverage manufacturer and distributor for over 75 years, recently introduced one of its best-selling brands - Re-Fuel(TM) - in a 16-ounce can. This product launch represents the premier introduction of a ready-to-drink beverage from the company that helped to revolutionize energy drinks available for nightclubs and bars in a bag-in-box package.

Acquired by CMS Private Equity in 2008, Multi-Flow has been producing Re-Fuel Energy Drink in bag-in-box (fountain-dispensed) for nearly a decade.

Mark Stephens, CEO, says that "Our Re-Fuel brand has been a value-added God-send to Nightclubs and Bars throughout the country. Our newest product launch, Re-Fuel 16-ounce cans, answers our customers' requests. This represents our first offering that is ready-to-drink. We're also anticipating many new customer opportunities in this package."

Those opportunities refer to convenience store cold vaults, club stores, and other venues that don't require a fountain-dispenser in order to serve.

Brett Rosenbloom, Director of Wholesale at Multi-Flow, said that "The pre-sales on Re-Fuel 16 ounce cans have been unbelievable. Our customers are looking for a great-tasting energy drink at an affordable cost, and that's what we're offering. It's a win-win for everyone: our customers, and their consumers."

Multi-Flow Industries, based in Huntingdon Valley, Pa., produces branded and private label concentrated Iced Teas, Juices, Carbonated Soft Drinks, Energy Drinks and Fortified Functional Water in Bag-in-the-Box packages. In addition to the recent "Excellent" rating from Silliker, Multi-Flow Industries has been an OSHA VPP Star Site since 2005. Nearly half of Multi-Flow Industries' revenue is derived from private label partnerships with convenience store chains, foodservice operators, and branded bottle and can manufacturers. The balance of Multi-Flow Industries' revenue is generated from route delivery sales out of their 12 warehouses along the East Coast. The company was established in 1937 by U.S. Navy Veteran Sam Gottlieb.

Big Bay Brewing Co. Celebrates The Arrival of Winter in Wisconsin with Portside Porter Limited Edition Craft Beer

Author: Big Bay Brewing Company
Dateline: Milwaukee, Wisconsin (MILWAUKEE, Wis.)  | Fri, 21 Dec 2012

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “In celebration of winter and the festive winter holidays, Big Bay Brewing Co. has introduced its newest craft beer, Portside. The porter style beer is the third limited edition brew to be introduced by the Shorewood, Wisconsin-based craft brewer.”

A R T I C L E:

In celebration of winter and the festive winter holidays, Big Bay Brewing Co.(R) has introduced its newest craft beer, Portside(TM). The porter style beer is the third limited edition brew to be introduced by the Shorewood, Wisconsin-based craft brewer.

"Porters are a good fit for long, cold winters like the ones we have in Wisconsin. While all of our beers are meant to be enjoyed year-round, we wanted to offer a distinctive, hearty beer that's well-suited for the coldest months," said Jeff Garwood, Big Bay Brewing Co. co-founder and managing partner. "Portside is a perfect complement to winter festivities - whether it's a holiday gathering with family and friends, a ski weekend up north, or a relaxing evening by the fire," added Garwood.

Porters, known for their dark color and slight sweetness, originated in 18th Century London when it was common to experiment with combinations of various beer styles. According to legend, a particular combination became popular with the porters around Victoria Station who began drinking it as a lunchtime meal. A local brewer took notice and began brewing and distributing that specific combination (*NOTE: 1).

Like its British ancestors, Big Bay Brewing's Portside features an aromatic malt flavor with hints of chocolate, toffee and coffee, and a deep brown color. It's a well-balanced, drinkable brown porter for those who appreciate the carefully crafted combination of sweet roasted malt notes and East Kent Golding hops.

The introduction of Portside Porter marks Big Bay Brewing Co.'s third limited edition brew. It will be available through the winter. Previously, the company introduced Long Weekend(TM) IPA and Summer Tide, a wheat beer, as limited edition beers.

"We know that craft beer drinkers actively seek out new flavor profiles and our limited edition beers allow us to meet the needs of craft beer consumers with various beer styles throughout the year. Our distinctive Portside brown porter is a great addition to our Big Bay Brewing family for craft beer drinkers looking for a bit maltier beer during winter," said Garwood.

Last winter, Big Bay Brewing rolled out Portside draft on a limited test basis. Due to the strong favorable response, the company is now introducing it to beer drinkers across Wisconsin. Portside is available in select retailers (primarily liquor stores and supermarkets), bars and restaurants across Wisconsin. It is also available for sampling, along with other Big Bay Brewing beers, at the Big Bay Brewing Co.'s Tasting Room and Retail Center, 4517 N. Oakland Ave. in Shorewood, Wis.

Developed from unique and exclusive recipes that feature proprietary yeast and the highest quality ingredients, Big Bay Brewing beers offer the distinctiveness of Wisconsin's microbrews with a clean finish. They're brewed slowly and methodically resulting in a well-balanced, robust, drinking experience. The company has relationships with multiple brewing partners.

Big Bay Brewing's Portside, Boatilla Amber Ale(R), Long Weekend IPA and award-winning Wavehopper Kölsch Style Ale(R) are available at select retailers, bars and restaurants across Wisconsin. They are sold at retail in six-packs of 12-oz. bottles, as well as in draft form in 1/4 barrel slim kegs and 1/2 barrels. Big Bay products are sold by local distributors across Wisconsin, including Beer Capitol Distributing Inc., Frank Beer Distributors Inc., CJW Inc. and Kay Beer Distributing.

The Newest Champagne Brand on the Market and Already an Entire Range Rated 90+

Author: Champagne Tendil and Lombardi
Dateline: Paris, France (PARIS, France)  | Mon, 03 Dec 2012

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “Tendil & Lombardi announce their new range of true Champagnes to hit shelves in the U.S. for the 2012 holiday season. Tendil & Lombardi Champagne is the project of Laurent Tendil and Stephane Lombardi, childhood friends from Lyon, France. Champagne lovers from early on, Tendil et Lombardi both left top management positions in multi-national companies when they made the leap towards what had been a dream for years, creating their own Champagne.”

A R T I C L E:

Tendil & Lombardi announce their new range of true Champagnes to hit shelves in the U.S. for the 2012 holiday season. Tendil & Lombardi Champagne is the project of Laurent Tendil and Stephane Lombardi, childhood friends from Lyon, France. Champagne lovers from early on, Tendil et Lombardi both left top management positions in multi-national companies when they made the leap towards what had been a dream for years, creating their own Champagne.

After reaching an agreement in 2007 with a producer allowing them to use parcels and equipment in the Aube region (Cotes des Bars), Tendil and Lombardi started the elaboration of their first cuvees, which would be released in 2011.

Lombardi explains "We both decided to chase down our dream, despite the economic climate and personal financial risks. We've had some very rough nights where I would call Tendil saying this project is hopeless, and he'd tell me that we'd be fine -- some other nights he would call and I would be the one to reassure him."

The road is still very long for these two entrepreneurs, nevertheless Tendil & Lombardi Champagnes are already sold in eight countries, and all six cuvees have been rated 90+ by Wine Spectator, not to mention the positive response from Wine Enthusiast, Stephen Tanzer and others.

Tendil & Lombardi's six cuvees are mainly mono-varietal, either Pinot Noir or Chardonnay. Lombardi explains, "This choice allows us to produce Champagnes that respect the specificity and authenticity of these two noble Champagne grapes." A highlight of the range is their "Rose de Saignee."

Whereas most modern rose Champagnes are made by adding red wine, Tendil & Lombardi's rose gets its enchanting pink color from the traditional method of leaving the juice in contact with the skins of the Pinot Noir. The only blended cuvee in the range is the Cuvee Hymenee.

Tendil explains, "Hymenee is the ancient Greek word for perfect marriage, and we think that this cuvee is the perfect marriage between Pinot Noir and Chardonnay." He might be correct, as this delightful blend of 50 percent Chardonnay and 50 percent Pinot Noir has recently been rated 92 Points by Wine Spectator.

The Quail & Olive is owned by Stephen Brabeck, M.D., local cardiologist and resident. As a noninvasive cardiologist, he promotes healthy lifestyles to prevent cardiovascular disease. "I have long appreciated the unique vascular protective properties of quality extra virgin olive oils," he said. "The Quail & Olive is a result of my love of food and the role it can play in our health. Eat right, be healthy, live well and enjoy life is our mission."

The team includes Deb Monnastes, who manages the daily operations of the tasting room as well as designer and merchandiser, Agnieska (Aga) Simpson whose credits also include Anthropologie, Carmel and Stonecreek Kitchens in Monterey.

Visitors at the tasting room may select from 15 varieties of California extra virgin olive oil and ten varieties of balsamic vinegar. "Olive oil and wine are gifts from the Mediterranean," Dr. Brabeck said. "But olive oil, unlike wine, does not improve with age. Our extra virgin olive oils are sourced from reputable California growers and mills that ensure an optimal origin to market time."

The Quail & Olive team personally monitors grove-to-mill-to market quality. Dr. Brabeck's use of air-tight fusti, topped off at regular intervals with inert nitrogen gas, minimizes the effects of light and oxygen degradation of the oils.

A R T I C L E:

Lost Spirits Distillery - a tiny California distillery manned by just its two founders - announces the unveiling of their dedicated single malt distillery. The project, which has been under wraps for some years, is an American mom and pop distillery unlike any other. And their first release - Leviathan I - is peated to a staggering 110ppm. Attaining phenol levels only accomplished by two distilleries in the past.

The unique single malt has a ferocious personality all its own. Showing as much spice influence from the French oak casks as it does smoldering embers from the massive peat influence.

The whiskey was fermented from California grown malted barley smoked with peat harvested from bogs in central Canada. Maturation took place in late harvest cabernet sauvignon casks from Napa Valley. The production was done in house by Joanne Haruta and Bryan Davis using equipment they made from scratch and casks they hand selected in Napa.

Haruta and Davis are veterans of the micro-distillery movement. In 2007 the duo moved to Spain where they founded a small distillery that won much acclaim for its products: Obsello Absinthe and Port of Barcelona Gin. In 2009 they returned to the United States to pursue a dream - building a whiskey distillery from scratch. Shunning contractors the two literally hand made everything from the stills to the foundations and Japanese gardens.

About Lost Spirits Distillery:

Lost Spirits Distillery is the first dedicated peated single malt whiskey distillery in the United States. The artisan distillery produces specialty American single malt whiskeys created for the global community of whiskey enthusiasts. The distillery is situated in beautiful Monterey County, California just 3 minutes from the Pacific Ocean. For more information visit us on the web at http://www.lostspirits.net/ .

Multi-Flow Industries Celebrates its 75th Year Anniversary

Author: Multi-Flow Industries
Dateline: Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania (HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa.)  | Wed, 04 Apr 2012

freeNewsArticles Story Summary: “The Employees of Multi-Flow Industries, a manufacturer and distributor of fountain-dispensed beverages, are happy to announce their Company's 75th Year Anniversary.”

A R T I C L E:

The Employees of Multi-Flow Industries, a manufacturer and distributor of fountain-dispensed beverages, are happy to announce their Company's 75th Year Anniversary.

Multi-Flow was founded in 1937 by United States Navy Veteran Sam Gottlieb in Philadelphia, Pa. Sam's business has grown to include 11 warehouse operations, along with the 70,000 square foot manufacturing facility located in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. (about 2 miles north of Philadelphia). The company provides direct store delivery to over 6,000 customers, and manufactures product for an additional 14,000 locations.

Although Sam has passed on, his passion for providing quality beverages continues to be exemplified by its nearly 200 employees in 7 states. Upon his retirement in 1990, his son Bernie took command. Upon Sam's death, Bernie wrote, "Dad could hear a soda system operate and know what was right or wrong. He could look at a building and know the value of the inventory with one walk thru. He could add, subtract, multiply, and divide in his head faster than a calculator. To label Sam would be very difficult. He had an eighth grade education and look at all of his accomplishments."

In 2008, CMS Companies (based in Wynnewood, Pa.) purchased majority share of Multi-Flow, and brought in a former Pepsi executive to become CEO. Since then, Mark Stephens and his executive team has brought Multi-Flow to record-level revenues and profits by expanding the sales, marketing, manufacturing capability, and net profit that was first begun by Sam Gottlieb in 1937. In honor of Sam's memory and his accomplishments, the company now gives a "lifetime achievement" award to a handful of employees every April. The award is affectionately called "Sam's Club."

Multi-Flow Industries produces branded and private label concentrated Iced Teas, Juices, Carbonated Soft Drinks, Energy Drinks and Fortified Functional Waters in Bag-in-the-Box packages, as well as jugs and cartridges. In addition to the recent "Excellent" rating from Silliker, Multi-Flow Industries has been an OSHA VPP Star Site since 2005. More information on Multi-Flow can be found on the company website at http://www.multiflow.net .
