McGregor Pedals Introduces the Cozmic Fuzzball Pedal

VANCOUVER, B.C. -- Boutique pedal company McGregor Pedals has launched its third pedal: The Cozmic Fuzzball. It follows on the heels of the McGregor's previous pedals, the Crunch Transparent Overdrive, a single-channel, low-gain overdrive pedal for guitar and bass, released in December 2019 and the Crunch Plus Overdrive, a medium-gain version for guitar and bass released in December 2020.

Designed and built by Garth Heslop, the brand new Cozmic Fuzzball pedal is built on the same foundation as the previous two pedals, though you would never know it. Heslop takes it to the next level by stacking hard clipping with soft clipping and adding an overdriven transistor for that sweet fuzz tone. Beginning with the attack control on minimum the Cozmic Fuzzball delivers distortion with a bright creamy edge.

"As you bring up the attack the distortion gets heavier; by noon on the attack, you have already started to hear fuzz layered in. Both the fuzz and the sustain grow from there. The Cozmic Fuzzball was designed for both guitar and bass," Heslop says.

The Cozmic Fuzzball has a straightforward control set:

* Attack: This controls strength of the signal hitting the fuzz transistor; more attack = more fuzz and sustain. At the lower end with low output pickups the effect is mild distortion/overdrive. As you bring up the attack the distortion gets stronger. Soon you will hear fuzz starting to layer in. Pin the Attack and you are in fuzz-land. The output of your pickups will have a significant effect on how much fuzz is generated (as will your guitar's volume pot)

* Tone: this is a variable high pass filter; the left side of the range is more for bass guitar, the right for both bass and guitar.

* Vol: This attenuates the amplified and clipped signal after it leaves the tone filter.

* LED Brightness (Unmarked Trimpot on the side): Please make the adjustment gently using a jeweler's screwdriver.

Key Cozmic Fuzzball features:

* Hand soldered in Vancouver, Canada

* High grade components picked for their superior sound and response

* True bypass with soft-click switch

* Standard 9-volt DC center-negative power operation (no battery compartment)

* Top-mounted audio jacks and power input to help with packed pedal boards

The Cozmic Fuzzball is currently priced at USD $210 and can be purchased directly from the McGregor Pedals online store via https://www.mcgregorpedals.com/.

McGregor Pedals Introduces the Crunch Plus Overdrive

VANCOUVER, BC, Canada -- Boutique pedal company McGregor Pedals has launched its second pedal: The Crunch Plus overdrive. It follows on the heels of the McGregor's debut pedal, the Crunch Transparent Overdrive, a single-channel, low-gain overdrive pedal for guitar and bass, released in December 2019.

Designed and built by Garth Heslop, the brand new Crunch Plus pedal starts where the Crunch leaves off, building on the same circuit by adding a third gain stage and a second clipping stage. Beginning with the gain at minimum, the Crunch Plus pedal is similar to the Crunch Transparent Overdrive on 3/4 gain with a bit of an edge.

It never loses that edge as you bring up the gain. The Crunch Plus takes it to the next level while still maintaining the transparency you would expect from a McGregor Pedals overdrive pedal and is suitable for both guitar and bass.

See the Crunch Plus demo video here: https://youtu.be/8JEC1qE3i8Q

The Crunch Plus has a straightforward control set:
* Gain: This controls the amount of gain driving the pedal's hard clipping. Minimum setting is similar to the Crunch Transparent Overdrive on 3/4 gain with a bit of an edge. The Crunch Plus pedal never loses that edge, it builds on it as you bring up the gain.
* Tone: A mid-range control that works very much like the tone control on most guitars.
* Vol: This Attenuates the amplified and clipped signal after it leaves the tone filter.
* Trimpot on side of pedal (unmarked) controls LED Brightness: As someone who plays daytime outdoor shows, Garth Heslop wanted a super bright LED; however, this made it horrible to use in any other situation. The added trimpot allows you to vary the LED Brightness from dark stage to bright sun. Please make the adjustment gently using a jeweler's screwdriver.

Key Crunch Plus features:
* Hand soldered in Vancouver, Canada
* High grade components picked for their superior sound and response
* True bypass with soft-click switch
* Standard 9-volt DC center-negative power operation (no battery compartment)
* Top-mounted audio jacks and power input to help with packed pedal boards

The Crunch Drive is priced at $210 and can be purchased directly from the McGregor Pedals online store via https://www.mcgregorpedals.com/.

McGregor Pedals Launches the Crunch Transparent Overdrive Pedal

VANCOUVER, B.C. -- McGregor Pedals Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of their flagship product, the Crunch Transparent Overdrive Pedal for bass and guitar.

Designer Garth Heslop went back to the drawing board to develop this single-channel, low-gain overdrive pedal. The Crunch Transparent Overdrive maintains the core tone of a player's setup while adding a breakup that is soft, warm, and musically focused.

"The Crunch Transparent Overdrive was designed specifically for both bass and guitar and works well with other pedals in either a primary or secondary drive position," says Heslop.

Mr. Heslop worked in close collaboration with musicians who have over a combined century of tone chasing experience, both live and in studio.

Novel elements and high-quality parts were combined with traditional design to achieve a pedal that Carter Low, 2016 Grand Prize winner of the Lee Ritenour Six String Theory Competition described as "...very responsive and doesn't mask your tone, just enhances what you got. Exactly what I look for in an overdrive." Carter added, "I can't live without this thing on my board!"

Presented in striking orange powder coat with subtle metal flake, the Crunch Transparent Overdrive pleases the eyes as well as the ears.

The Crunch Transparent Overdrive pedal is available now from WestCoast Guitars and direct from https://www.mcgregorpedals.com/products/crunch-transparent-overdrive-pedal.
