New Ballad of Love Brings ‘Hope’ for Mother’s Day

FORT WORTH, Texas -- 4818 Records, LLC today announced that as we prepare to honor women everywhere on Mother's Day 2017 Sunday, May 14, a beautiful new ballad titled "Never Let Me Go" has been released as a single and video to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Greater Fort Worth.

"Never Let Me Go" is the first single from "Hope," the compilation album promoting the 2017 "Race for the Cure" fundraiser for the Fort Worth chapter on April 22.

Singer/songwriter/guitarist and Grammy Award-winning producer Gary McGrath wrote and recorded "Never Let Me Go" for "Hope," which he compiled and has just released on his independent 4818 Records label.

The album features songs by Danny Wright, Elizabeth Wills, The Dorothy Shaw Bell Choir, and The Texas State Men & Boys Choir, of which McGrath serves as executive director and producer. In addition to "Never Let Me Go," McGrath contributed "Sunsets In Santa Monica" as well.

McGrath, who accompanies his heartfelt vocals with acoustic guitars on "Never Let Me Go," gets tastefully understated accompaniment by bassist Eric Delegard, percussionist Luis Conte, accordion player Phil Parlapiano, and background vocalist Deborah Buffington.

All the musicians are present or past members of The McGrath Project, the contemporary classic rock band McGrath leads that earned a gold record for their 2010 album "Love Is a Four Letter Word."

McGrath also produced a companion video for "Never Let Me Go," which amassed more than 4,500 views just in its first three days.

Directed, shot, and edited by Dustin Meyer for Motion Fire Media and Dustin Meyer Photography, the video intercuts footage of McGrath singing and playing acoustic guitar with footage of model Gabriella Bryan.

"The chorus is me singing about the love of my life and about the little things she does that make me, or would make anybody, just swoon," McGrath said. "Simple things, like how she welcomes the day or the way she sips her morning coffee. When you're in love, you love everything your significant other is and does."

As to the reception of "Never Let Me Go," McGrath admits he was caught by surprise at the early response.

"I am so glad that it has been so well-received and so many people are sharing it," he said. "It's a message everyone and their mother can love this Mother's Day."

Heart of Christmas: One Gift Bears Another

FORT WORTH, Texas -- "Heart of Christmas, The Secret History of The Littlest Wiseman," a gift film that pays tribute to philanthropists Mary D. and F. Howard Walsh, will premiere Sept. 7, 2016 at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. At age 9, Ben Tinsley became a participant and contributor to the annual Fort Worth Christmas pageant, "The Littlest Wiseman."

Forty years later, the local journalist has created a film as a tribute to production founders Mary D. & F. Howard Walsh. The movie, free to the public, premieres Sept. 7.

Ben Tinsley, a North Texas journalist and long-time participant and contributor to the annual "Play Pageant of the Nativity," wrote, directed and co-produced "Heart of Christmas" "because I felt the need to capture the incredible impact the Walshes had on generations of families that participated or attended 'The Littlest Wiseman.'"

Through performances and interviews, Tinsley's 57-minute film captures the essence of "The Littlest Wiseman," which will be produced for the 56th year in December. Admission to the nine performances is free - as it always has been - courtesy of The Walsh Foundation.

Tinsley was a member of the Texas Boys Choir between ages 9 and 11 and performed in the Christmas play twice.

His re-entry to "The Littlest Wiseman" family began nearly four decades later when he met Gary Bryant McGrath. McGrath is Executive Director of the Texas State Men and Boys Choir - the primary singing entity for "The Littlest Wiseman" performances. The state choir is comprised of Texas Boys Choir alumni and their sons. Tinsley joined the choir.

"I found it amazing that these Texas Boys Choir alums could be performing at 'The Littlest Wiseman' once more," Tinsley said. "I really didn't think this was even a possibility for me to ever do again."

During rehearsals, Tinsley began to realize much of what is great about "The Littlest Wiseman" production was fading. Mary D. and F. Howard Walsh had passed away. Composer Jack Noble White, formerly of the Texas Boys Choir, was aging. And the presence of the Texas Boys Choir was gone. Tinsley concluded that great memories were not adequately being preserved.

Dallas-Fort Worth area movie director Dan Millican introduced Tinsley to some colleagues and allowed them to use his camera equipment to shoot the documentary. Alicia Pascual, Tinsley's director of cinematography, filmed "Heart Of Christmas" during a three-day period in December 2015. The project took film editor Christine Copeland roughly a month to edit.

"Heart Of Christmas: The Secret History of The Littlest Wiseman" premieres in the movie theatre at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell Street, at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016. Admission is free. Tickets will not be needed for admission.

After the premiere, the link to the movie will be available for free viewing online.
