New Memoir on Picasso Makes a Number of Extraordinary Claims

CHATEAUGUAY, Quebec -- It would appear that Picasso and his famous model, Marie-Thérèse Walter, both went to their graves during the seventies with a rather ominous secret on their conscience, according to Marc Poissant, author of the new memoir, "Picasso and Marie-Thérèse Walter: The Censored Story" (ISBN: 978-0228879718). Also new for the art world is the fact that Picasso, unbeknownst to the art historians (his exegetes) secretly coded literally dozens of artworks (many of them now world-known masterpieces) around this highly private matter. A second subtitle inscribed inside the book aptly reads: "what he painted is not what he said."

Author's Synopsis:

In October 1977, Marie-Thérèse Walter was found hanged in her home's garage at age sixty-eight. She was famously known as the "sleeping blond muse," whose relationship with Pablo Picasso ('Pic,' as she preferred to call him) had always been extremely secretive.

In 1988, Dr. Herbert T. Schwarz published a study where he argued - many scholars later agreed - that he had sufficient evidence proving that the blond muse was already at Picasso's side at age fifteen in early 1925, which is two full years before the date given by Picasso who always claimed having met Marie-Thérèse on the streets of Paris in January 1927 when she was seventeen and a half. But then, this is also the man who once said "you must not always believe what I say; questions tempt you to tell lies, especially when there is no answer."

Dr. Schwarz' intrusion into the "Marie-Thérèse mystery," if on the right track, was still miles away from the truth; the evidence now shows that Picasso had in fact erased all of Marie-Thérèse's early-life narrative, starting with her family origins; because for anyone to know the identity of her true parents was also inevitably to know that Picasso had to know this young girl right from the crib.

This book tries to resuscitate some of Marie-Thérèse's cancelled narrative, as it also tries to unveil the roots and the mechanism of an old disinformation campaign, complete with cover-up; formerly under Picasso's strict control - later, under that of his heirs after he passed away in 1973 -, the scholars and the museums too have known about this hoax for well over a decade now.

Regrettably, however, ever since I published my study in 2009 a shabby posture has consistently prevailed within the Picasso Intelligentsia: video et taceo, see and keep silent. But isn't that Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" all over again: "...and how many times can a man turn his head/Pretending he just doesn't see..."

PICASSO'S LIFE AND WORK AS NO ONE HAS YET SEEN IT; WELCOME TO A FLURRY OF NEW REVELATIONS.

With regard to the author, he can perhaps be best discovered by reading his Chapter 4. His book, "Picasso and Marie-Thérèse Walter: The Censored Story" (Tellwell Publishing, RRP $30) is available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Indigo and more. Although one-on-one interviews are not envisioned at this time, the author will gracefully try to answer all pertinent questions for anyone having done his or her preliminary homework, which is to read the book in all of its details, the evidence behind the new claims forming a kind of complex patchwork which is spread all across most of the book's twenty-three chapters (marcpoissant@videotron.ca).

Legacy Launch Pad Publishing releases comedic memoir about mother-daughter relationships by Bonnie Lorber Habyan

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- How can you honor a lifetime of quirky, funny and off-color perspectives from your beloved but aging mom? If you're Bonnie Lorber Habyan, you gather all those moments, write them into a hilarious book and launch it on her 91st birthday. Legacy Launch Pad Publishing is proud to be releasing "The World According to Bess: A Funny, Unfiltered Memoir of Life Lessons from My 90-Year-Old Mom" (ISBN: 978-1-956955-31-6 (ebook); 978-1-956955-32-3, 978-1-956955-33-0 (paperback)), a treasure trove of motherly insights and Habyan's "love letter" to her mother.

In "The World According to Bess," Habyan traces Bess's humble beginnings and early life experiences, including her romance with Bonnie's father and various mischievous adventures in her hometown when she was a young girl. Reflecting on their mother-daughter bond, Habyan details the hilarious and insightful things her mother has said and done over the years. In the latter chapters, she also examines how their relationship has been shifting as Bess battles with dementia.

Habyan is a speaker and a chief marketing officer working in real estate in finance, and has had rich life experiences that include earning her MBA as well as being a corporate spokesperson, a news reporter, and a radio DJ for a call-in love songs program.

"Bonnie Habyan is as colorful a person as Bess," says publisher Anna David. "I can only hope her next book will be "The World According to Bonnie"."

Habyan's memoir is full of anecdotes that are alternately side-splitting and heart-warming, combining the dry humor of "Sh*t My Dad Says" with the warm spirit of the "Chicken Soup" series. In addition to giving readers a way to laugh about generational differences, "The World According to Bess" is also a guide for anyone navigating a relationship with an aging parent-or learning how to take care of the people who once took care of them.

"The World According to Bess" is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, among many other outlets.

Trauma and Substance Abuse Survivor Turned Writer and Entrepreneur, Shannan Mondor Turns Addiction Into Triumph In Debut Memoir

CALGARY, Alberta -- "HOW IN THE HELL DID I GET HERE? Forever Changing the Genetic Blueprint" (ISBN: 978-0228871224) is a riveting and raw story of how author Shannan Mondor overcame alcoholism and mental illness and broke free from the genetic blueprint of addiction that demonized her family for generations.

She sets you in a front row seat as she shares her life story and experiences, which show the strength, determination and courage of how she no longer wanted to continue with this way of life, and how she would do whatever it took to protect her children from being exposed to a life of addiction that is so normalized and influenced within society.

She teaches about addiction and the consequences of speaking her truth. She fights past fear, loneliness and judgment to end her inner pain that has haunted her for years, and finds inner peace. Along her path she realizes how life is a spiritual journey and there is a lesson to be learned with every experience, personal encounter and relationship. Mondor is sharing her inspiring story in the highly anticipated memoir "HOW IN THE HELL DID I GET HERE? Forever Changing the Genetic Blueprint."

"HOW IN THE HELL DID I GET HERE? Forever Changing the Genetic Blueprint" (Tellwell Publishing, March, 2022), takes readers through Mondor's rehab and recovery journey and showcases how important it is to have a relationship with yourself, that you have the power to change everything, and it all comes from within.

"I've learned that there is nothing more powerful than the strength that I have inside me and EVERYTHING starts there. I am the only one in control of my life. I make all the decisions. By facing my fears and being truthful of who I am, my past, accepting all my good and bad qualities, I've learned to love myself and then I started to heal. This was the most powerful thing I have ever experienced and it has changed my life forever. For the first time in my life, I have complete clarity of who I am, where I am going and what my life purpose is," said Mondor when reflecting on her experience. "I hope that my readers will look at their own life story and be able to relate to what I am saying and make the right decisions for themselves in their own lives."

Not a victim, but a survivor, Mondor reclaimed her power after years of trauma, substance abuse and poor relationships. She now has four beautiful children, a husband and a successful career sharing her story as an inspirational speaker and now as a published author.

In addition to writing and speaking engagements, Mondor has created a brand with the motto "Fear Fighter". ROSENBERG, Texas -- "HERE COMES COWBOY LARRY, STEPPING OUT IN FAITH" (ISBN 978-1667838816) is the biographical story of Larry Callies in his own words, he dreamt from the age of ten of becoming a Cowboy; and his spiritual journey as man of color to the founding of the First Museum honoring the long history of the Black Cowboy Heritage.

Together, the reader will experience Larry's dream unfolding and take on different shapes through the influences in his life from his Cowboy Father, his Christian Mother, and Famous Cousins to Community Members, Famous Singers, to his eventual tragedy when Larry was diagnosed with Vocal Dysphonia and ultimately ending his budding singing career.

Legacy Launch Pad publishing releases memoir about growing up in dysfunctional Mormon family by Diana Cannon Ragsdale

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Legacy Launch Pad Publishing has released "Loose Cannons: A Memoir of Mania and Mayhem in a Mormon Family" (ISBN: 978-195655200 (ebook); 978-1956955217, 978-1956955224 (paperback); 978-1956955231 (hardback)), written by Diana Cannon Ragsdale.

In "Loose Cannons", Ragsdale tells the chaotic story of being raised by her schizophrenic father in Salt Lake City, Utah, in the wake of her depressed mother abandoning the family. The story covers more than 60 years of complex family history and is interspersed with excerpts from Ragsdale's mother's journal, which detail decades of abuse, mental illness and family secrets.

While covering difficult topics, Ragsdale's memoir also keeps an optimistic and humorous touch, with a changing perspective as she ages from girl to woman. Despite the difficulties she faces, Ragsdale details how she's learned from her mistakes as well as the mistakes of her family, all while repairing her relationships with her parents-and herself.

The book has already received praise from authors and mental health professionals across the globe. "'Loose Cannons' is an unforgettable memoir, a remarkable and astonishing story which will leave you laughing, crying and cringing until the last page," says Warren Driggs, author of "Mormon Boy, A Tortoise in the Road" and "Swimming in Deep Water."

"An unflinching account of mental illness, abuse and neglect hiding in plain sight," says Carrie Gaykowski, CSW. "The memoir is courageous, agonizing and demonstrates the resilience of the human spirit."

Publisher Anna David agrees. "Diana tells a story that will stay with you long after you finish reading, and she tells it with more honesty, gumption and humor than you might have thought possible," David says.

As Ragsdale's story shows, abuse and neglect do not make anyone unlovable or unable to love themselves. With determination, perspective and a sense of humor, it is possible to heal from serious emotional wounds with grace.

"Loose Cannons" is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, among many other outlets.

Legacy Launch Pad Publishing Releases Inspirational Book of Essays by Coach and Author Lauren Schwarzfeld

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Legacy Launch Pad Publishing is releasing "Unboxed: Essays on Learning to Trust Myself to Stop Doing the Things I Hate" (ISBN: 979-8985225327), the first book by coach Lauren Schwarzfeld. Written in a humorous and down-to-earth tone, "Unboxed" is part memoir and part manifesto, detailing how Schwarzfeld found herself with a prestigious degree, a fast-paced New York finance job, a loving husband and three beautiful children and yet still felt stuck. Each essay examines the efforts she took to find her way back to herself.

In the book, Schwarzfeld shares the diverse life experiences she earned by trying on various careers-as a waitress, accounting professional, direct sales representative, doula and stay-at-home mom-before finding her place as a writer and life coach.

In the same wise and caring voice that she has established through her writing in the Westchester County Mom Collective and as a contributor to the bestselling anthology "The Addiction Diaries," "Unboxed" puts Schwarzfeld's personal journey on paper for the first time while inspiring readers to become the authors of their own stories.

"'Unboxed' is a breath of fresh air," says publisher Anna David. "Lauren's life story is completely her own, and the voice she uses to tell it is lively and engaging. There are a lot of books out there about 'bottoming out' on certain behaviors before making a change and yet few that detail what most people experience: how to change before things fall apart. Her book will help a lot of people who feel alone because their stories aren't often shared."

For women who seem to be doing all the right things but still haven't found what they're looking for, Schwarzfeld's story offers insights and reflections on the challenges of transitioning to adulthood, maintaining long-term relationships, finding friendship and establishing a sense of independence through it all.

Schwarzfeld's wisdom in "Unboxed" will help women find the courage to trust themselves and step outside the box of their perceived expectations-regardless of where life may take them.

"Unboxed: Essays on Learning to Trust Myself to Stop Doing the Things I Hate" is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, among many other outlets.

Jerry Elman to Release Book ‘Miracles Through Hell’ – A True Story of Holocaust Survival and Intergenerational Healing

HONEOYE, N.Y. -- Very little has been written about the children of Holocaust survivors and the psychological impact passed on to them through the silence of their parents, says author Jerry Elman in his new book "Miracles Through Hell" (ISBN: 978-0578348711; Waterview Books).

Elman also questions if America of today compares to Germany in the 1930s. Holocaust denial is a trend; fascism is on the rise, books are being banned, voting rights are being suppressed, women's rights are under attack, racism and antisemitism are on the rise, and freedom of the press is under attack. American institutions are being attacked and delegitimized. White supremacy is on the rise, and evangelicals are pushing hard to make America a "Christian Nation." Will American democracy survive?

"'Miracles Through Hell' is a deeply moving account of bravery, luck, and redemption, uncovering the details of my parents' lives before the Nazis took control of Poland, leading through the miracles and hell my parents experienced as the war raged on, and finally, reveals the trauma of second-generation survivors," says Elman.

Through the telling of his family history, Elman's own story and concerns about America's future are told.

The release of the book is planned for March 2022 on Amazon.

Book Review:

"To be honest, I have never had such an emotional reaction to reading about the Holocaust and the experience of the Jews in Europe during this time. I had to go slowly because I found myself reacting very strongly to some of the details you have included. For example, I thought about the vulnerability of Jewish women specifically and was placed back in time, feeling nauseous at the thought of my brother escaping while I stayed behind. I thought about all the untold stories of pain, bravery, and guilt. I had to stop working, close my computer, and talk to my husband about the emotions I was feeling. I am confident your book will have a huge impact on those who read it." -- Yasmin Gruss, Professor/lecturer, Brooklyn College, CUNY Professional Book Editor.

About Jerry Elman

Jerry Elman was born in 1954 in Syracuse, NY. He has lived in the Rochester, NY area for almost fifty years. Both his parents were Holocaust survivors. He is a first-generation American. Children of Holocaust survivors have been referred to as second-generation survivors. The emotional impact on the parents carried over to their children. The Holocaust was never discussed. Like other second-generation survivors, Jerry lived most of his life not knowing his parents' stories or his European roots and family. He did not understand his emotional issues as he grew up.

His father passed away in 1989, his mother in 2004. Jerry retired in 2021. The desire to know his parent's story kept nagging at him.

In 2021, at age sixty-seven, he began searching files and documents his parents left behind. He started his research effort. Every piece of information led to other information. He connected with resources at the US Holocaust Museum, Yad Vashem in Israel, YIVO, JewishGen, the University of Southern California (USC) Shoah Project and others.

Jerry successfully found all the information that became the basis for this book. This is his first book as an author. It is a work of love and closure to questions never answered most of his life. Writing this book was a cathartic experience for Jerry.

A Suspenseful Memoir Inspires Readers to Open Their Minds

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- "No Time for Fear," a new e-book by Yvonne Haarsma, is a suspenseful page-turner that reveals how a mother and her two sons escaped an ego-driven husband while on the run across four continents and being pursued by Interpol, Mounted Police and the FBI.

This thrilling memoir starts out by setting the stage for what appeared to be a match made in heaven. However, the author quickly realizes that things are not at all what they seemed. Now, she's got to figure out how to protect herself and her two young sons from a powerful man who is charming, deceitful and filled with a thirst for revenge.

In a marriage that had reached a dead end, she was desperate for solutions. She sought the assistance of a counselor who, unbeknownst to her, showed herself to be a medium to help put things back on track. Soon, Yvonne begins to receive somewhat unbelievable messages, and is not convinced until a person very familiar to her reveals himself - her deceased grandfather, Edward.

Through messages from the other side, Edward shows her how to trade the darkness for the light and works behind the scenes to carefully guide her.

On the run for a year throughout Asia, Europe, North America and South America, Yvonne and her two boys confront extreme challenges and triumphs.

Readers will meet the many people who helped the author and learn how to trust their own inner voices.

One Amazon reviewer wrote, "This book could be a film script; all the elements are there - passion and suspense."

Another Amazon reviewer states, "Truth is definitely stranger than fiction. A truly intriguing tale, not only of survival and justice, but how our spirit guides are always looking out for us and work with us in ways we cannot always imagine or understand. We need more inspiring and eclectic stories like this."

Yvonne's main reason for writing this book is to help others find their strength and to trust what they may not always understand.

In Yvonne's words: "It was those difficult moments in my life and then the realization that our spiritual self helps to make us stronger. I've learned so much from this experience and hope it will inspire others too."

Legacy Launch Pad Publishing Releases Memoir About Finding Life-Changing Physical and Mental Relief from Somatic Work

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Legacy Launch Pad Publishing is releasing the first book by entrepreneur Dan Sykes, the founder of the Somatic Training Network, a company dedicated to the learning and sharing about somatic arts and practices from around the world.

"Somatic Fanatic: How Training My Nervous System With the World's Master Instructors Helped Me Beat My Midlife Crisis" (ISBN: 978-1956955057) synthesizes Sykes' experience-first, with feeling flummoxed by midlife after having sold a company and gone through a divorce. His journey of self-discovery, which took him to Russia, Japan, Portugal and Israel, among many other places, is chronicled in this memoir that serves as a guide for anyone looking to revolutionize their physical, mental and spiritual health and wellness.

Based in Maine since the year 2000, Sykes is a lifelong Russophile who found his calling when he discovered the ancient Russian martial art of Systema. He has since earned the title of Systema Bodywork Instructor under Grand Master Mikhail Ryabko, as well as Systema Martial Arts Instructor, certified under Master Instructor Vladimir Vasiliev.

His company, the Somatic Training Network, is dedicated to the learning and sharing about somatic arts and practices from around the world. It offers in-person intensive experiences, which include Banya (Russian-style sauna), cold pool and its core offering, Russian Stick Bodywork, as well as Somatic Training Intensives and a full online curriculum.

"I didn't really know what to expect from Dan and this entire book," admits publisher Anna David. "He's sort of this Indiana Jones of the somatic world, which makes this one of the most unique stories I've come across. But in the end, it's not only a tale of overcoming the malaise most people experience at midlife but also a story about finding your calling and discovering a path to letting go of the tension that plagues most everyone today."

"This period of devastation in my life cleared the way for a new, far healthier path," echoes Sykes. "My life changed direction and became profoundly richer, but it didn't happen overnight or in a single epiphany. My transformation wouldn't have occurred without years of pain, which made me desperate enough to face my fears. This book encompasses not only my personal story but also shows other people how they can experience the sort of life-changing physical and mental relief I discovered."

"Somatic Fanatic-How I Lost My Tension, Met the World's Master Instructors and Found Myself" is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, among many other outlets.
