The Dead of Winter: Mediums at Large Paranormal Seminar and Ghost Hunt Comes to the Plum Tree National Golf Resort

CHICAGO, Ill. -- A host of famous mediums, psychics, ghost hunters, authors and more will gather January 28, 2017 for Chicago Hauntings' annual "Dead of Winter" paranormal seminar at the Plum Tree National Golf Resort in Woodstock, Illinois.

The popular event this year focuses on mediumship, the talent of talking to the dead, and stars Chris Fleming of the Travel Channel's smash hit, "Ghost Adventures." Five other mediums will be on hand for readings throughout the event, and other presenters include paranormal authors Ursula Bielski and Scott Markus and "ghost box" expert Daniel Reiter, who will demonstrate life after death communication via "spirit radio."

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Food and drink will be available all day, and attendees may also purchase tickets to an evening bonfire and ghost hunt of the premises, guided by mediums and psychics. No experience is required, and all are encouraged to attend. An optional ghost tour of McHenry County will be given via deluxe coach bus on Friday, January 27, 2017.

Event organizer and owner of Chicago Hauntings Tours Ursula Bielski says that wintertime is one of the best times for paranormal investigation: "We usually associate ghosts with October and Halloween, but research demonstrates that the winter months are some of the most active times of year paranormally. Mediums tell us that, like the living, spirits also frequently 'come home' during the holidays and sometimes remain for months."

Bielski also says McHenry County, where the Dead of Winter event will be held, is one of the most haunted counties in Illinois, and that paranormal activity is currently being experienced by the workers rehabbing the old Plum Tree Golf Resort, which will be totally refurbished by the New Year holiday.

For further information and ticket purchases, please visit http://www.chicagohauntings.com/ or contact Ursula Bielski at ursulabielski@sbcglobal.net or 773-733-2711.

World’s Biggest Participation Trophy for Trump’s Historic Campaign Run Dedicated in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- A nine-foot-tall trophy featuring a large gold and sienna head of Donald J. Trump on a gilded plinth is scheduled to be dedicated in Las Vegas next month before the election. The monumental statue, believed to be the World's Largest Participation Trophy, in honor of Donald Trump's presidential run, was sculpted by the commissioned artist Daniel Edwards. The dedication is scheduled for November 4th, announces Cory Allen Contemporary Art.

The "RNC Participation Trophy for Donald J. Trump, Election 2016" is a heroically scaled bust of Trump, recalling the idealistic portraits of German sculptor Arno Breker. It is fixed atop a six-foot-tall gold-chromed podium, which resembles the Trump Hotel. Trump's sienna-colored likeness has a jutting chin; his sweeping hair is gold-leafed with golden eyebrows to match, and he is crowned with a German eagle as a nod to his German heritage.

Portraying the heroic scaled likeness of Trump himself as a companion piece to the Trump Hotel Las Vegas, with glitz and grandeur to match, dedication of the RNC Participation Trophy is scheduled to take place in its vicinity.

Despite the conceding of his own party and campaign that he is behind in the polls, Trump maintains he is winning.

"A winning attitude facilitates participation in the face of doubt, and Mr. Trump is doing his best, which is the example we want for all of our children. The act of participation makes winners of us all, even when our best isn't quite enough," said the artist's spokesperson Cory Allen. "Mr. Trump deserves the world's biggest participation award for an unprecedented campaign."

The Trump award is the inaugural presentation of the RNC Participation Trophy. No word on whether or not future presentations will maintain Mr. Trump's likeness to represent the participation award in perpetuity.

"RNC Participation Trophy for Donald J. Trump" will be dedicated at 11 a.m. November 4, 2016 in Las Vegas. Press may contact Cory Allen at 323-393-3115 or visit www.cacanet.com to RSVP for exact location of media conference and dedication ceremony.

Michael Phelps and Little Boomer’s Instagram Inspires First Virtual Reality Monument

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Artist Daniel Edwards will unveil what he believes is the First Virtual Reality Monument, one that honors Michael Phelps's legacies as Olympian and father, featuring new son Boomer. Unveiling of The First Virtual Reality Monument is scheduled for November at Irv Art gallery in Indianapolis, announces Cory Allen Contemporary Art.

Through specialized headgear, viewers can interact with the larger-than-life Olympian. The First Virtual Reality Monument features Michael Phelps, clad in speedos and USA-emboldened-swim cap, standing steadfastly akimbo with feet planted shoulder-width on an Olympic-style podium. His chin is up with a determined gaze reminiscent of recent Phelps memes. His son Boomer, supported by a child harness across Dad's chest in place of a gold medal, holds open arms as if sweetly welcoming his auspicious future.

"I intended to monumentalize Michael Phelps's athletic dominance and prevalence over inner-demons," Edwards says. "Contrasting Ryan Lochte's unfortunate actions in Rio, I find it especially important to commemorate Phelps's growth and maturity."

Boomer Phelps, the cute three-month-old 'mascot' of the Rio games, was present as his father won six medals. "I don't recall the emergence of such an adorable breakout star as baby Boomer at the Olympics before," added Edwards. "All of the pics on Boomer's Instagram page provided plenty of inspiration for his portrait."

"Ryan Lochte's misbehavior undermines the spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play of the Olympics, placing more necessity to remember Phelps's Olympic-sized strides," said the artist's spokesman Cory Allen. "But after 23 gold medals in five Olympic Games, Phelps's greatest legacy may indeed be son Boomer, as portrayed by Daniel."

Daniel Edwards has been sculpting Olympic Gold Medalists for over 20 years. Coca-Cola, BMW, and United Way sponsored his Olympic portrait exhibit that followed the torch relay to selected cities and exhibited in the Olympic Village in Atlanta in 1996. His portraits are in the permanent collections of the National Art Museum of Sport and New York Athletic Club.

The "First Virtual Reality Monument" will open to the public at Irv Art at 206 South Audubon Road in Indianapolis in November. For more information contact Cory Allen at 323-393-3115 or visit http://www.cacanet.com.

Attorney Bernard Walsh Brings to Light Legal Ramifications of Pokemon Go for Users and Property Owners

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Personal injury attorney Bernard F. Walsh points out the potential legal consequences of Pokemon Go for both app users and property owners. With the advent of the popular new mobile game Pokemon Go, millions of users are scouring cities, parks, and other publicly accessible areas in a "scavenger hunt" to collect virtual creatures called Pokemon.

Based on a technology known as augmented reality, the game has items and virtual creatures placed at thousands of locations across North America. When a player arrives at the location, they can look through the display on their mobile device and the virtual Pokemon is superimposed over the image that is on the camera on the player's phone. The player can then interact with the virtual character and in some locations with other players as well.

However, while boasting a highly successful launch, the game has not been without its problems. With millions of players searching many busy public locations, questions of legal liability and the financial responsibility are being raised should players or the public be injured in mishaps while playing the game.

Personal Injury Attorney Bernard F. Walsh shared this comment about the legal aspects of playing the game, "While it's great to see the level of innovation that is coming from technology companies, there are serious legal aspects of Pokemon Go and other software that use augmented reality for players, game developers and property owners. Additionally, the potential for dangerous situations that can arise from this game is very real.

"Already players distracted by viewing the world through their phone as they are in busy public spaces have suffered injuries such as broken bones, criminals have used the app to predict players locations and then robbed them at gun point, irresponsible players who look for Pokemon while driving are especially dangerous to the public, and the game itself has locations in areas that are in error. In fact, earlier this week a Pokemon Go player in Baltimore playing the game while driving, crashed his Toyota Rav4 into a parked police cruiser.

"Given the wide participation of this popular game it is simply a matter of time before individuals are seriously harmed as a player or as a non-player. However the app developer anticipating the potential for personal injury or other types of law suits, has written into their terms of service agreement protection from law suits. New players eager to get started may not be aware that when they agree to the terms of service at the time of downloading the app, they are waiving all legal ability to sue for compensation should they become injured as a result of playing Pokemon Go.

While this contract may protect the app developer from personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits from players who have consented to the terms of use contract, it has no bearing on law suits initiated against property owners of Pokemon Go locations or members of the public who have not entered into such an agreement. Players injured while playing Pokemon Go may file suit against property owners if an unsafe condition contributed toward their injury, property owners may file suit against the game developers for errantly placing a game location, and the public injured by distracted players can file suit directly against a player that has caused them harm."

Johnny Depp Statue Shows Concern for Dogs in Custody Battle with Amber Heard

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Teen sculptor Rodman Edwards has created a statue of Johnny Depp and his dogs in the midst of the actor's divorce proceedings with wife Amber Heard, portraying the actor as winning custody of their dogs. The sculpture, shown with saddened dogs, is being unveiled by Cory Allen Contemporary Art in St. Petersburg, Florida in August.

The statue, titled "Depp Wins Custody of Pistol and Boo," depicts a likeness of Johnny Depp under a doghouse archway, sporting his current Dillinger-inspired hairstyle, while modeling Pirate-like "Yorky" skull and crossbones tattoos of his dogs Pistol and Boo, which are also represented in statues, tearful, cowering and holding pieces of a broken heart.

After filing for divorce from Depp, claiming domestic abuse, Heard is asking for Pistol, while Depp is battling to keep both dogs from being divided. Last year, Heard neglected claiming their two Yorkshire terriers with customs. The Australian government viewed the incident as attempting smuggling, threatening to euthanize the dogs.

"After a whole year worrying about Pistol and Boo's fate, concern for their well-being isn't over. The latest Johnny Depp divorce complicates a safe custody of Pistol and Boo," said artist Rodman Edwards. "They deserve an owner who can make them feel safe and happy."

"People in troubled marriages are able to speak to defend themselves, but animals - beloved pets like Pistol and Boo - have no such recourse," said the artist's spokesman Cory Allen.

Rodman Edwards, featured in Complex Magazine's list of "20 Best Artists Under 20 Right Now," is previously known for his portrait of Bill Cosby in "Fat Albert Cries for Dr. Huxtable." Edwards, a junior in high school, has shown his work at Monsterpalooza in Pasadena, Mask Fest in Indianapolis, and Copro Gallery in Santa Monica. His large mask of Hillary Clinton was displayed during an anti-Keystone pipeline demonstration at a democratic fundraiser attended by Clinton in San Francisco.

"Depp Wins Custody of Pistol and Boo" opens to the public at NOVA 535, Saint Pete's #1 Unique Event Space, located at 535 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St N. Saint Petersburg, Florida in August. Contact Cory Allen at 323-393-3115 or visit http://www.cacanet.com/.
