Sarasota Attorney M David Shapiro Comments on Landmark $70 Million ADHD Drug Risperdal Lawsuit

SARASOTA, Fla. -- The Sarasota Florida attorney commented after a Philadelphia jury returned a verdict of $70 million against Johnson & Johnson for failing to warn of the risks associated for taking Risperdal. The case involved a sixteen-year-old boy who developed breast from the medication prescribed for attention deficit disorder (ADHD).

The jury learned that Johnson & Johnson knew the risks associated with the drug, but did not disclose them.

The verdict was on the heels of a payment of $2.2 billion fine to end a criminal investigation for promoting the drug for treatment for dementia and ADHD which the drug had not received approval for.

M. David Shapiro, a board certified civil trial lawyer commented, "You would think that large corporations would stop putting profits over the health of the consumers. But it seems that exorbitant fines and large verdicts doesn't modify their behavior."

Shapiro noted that Johnson & Johnson faces large verdicts for failing to warn customers of the risk for deadly ovarian cancer after use of talc products. "These products are ruining or taking people's lives. The money won't replace loved one's or restore the victims, but I hope companies start to act responsibly and consider the devastation they bring on their consumers," Shapiro said.

Simplifile Q2 2016 Report Finds Emerging Preference Among Lenders for Settlement Partners Who E-Record

PROVO, Utah -- Simplifile, a leading provider of real estate document collaboration and recording technologies for lenders, settlement agents, and counties, today released quarterly figures summarizing the organization's activities and achievements from April through June 2016.

The company's e-recording network gained 42 counties in 18 states during the second quarter of the year, bringing its total number of e-recording jurisdictions nationwide to 1,452. Second-quarter additions include 10 new counties in Georgia; five new counties each in Missouri and North Carolina; three new counties each in Indiana and Kansas; two new counties each in California, Louisiana and Wisconsin; and one new county each in Alabama, Michigan, North Dakota, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

Title companies, banks, attorneys, and lien filers can now upload and submit documents directly to the recorder's offices in these counties using Simplifile's secure, web-based service. In minutes, the recorder can electronically review, stamp, record, and return documents back to the submitter.

Company President Paul Clifford credits much of Simplifile's recent success to growing interest in e-recording among mortgage lenders. The Simplifile Collaboration service allows lenders to interact with settlement agents in real time to determine the appropriate fees for a transaction.

"County recorders and settlement agents were our earliest advocates, because they experienced first-hand the positive impact of e-recording on their productivity and recording costs," said Clifford. "Now lenders are coming to appreciate how e-recording improves the post-closing process by getting documents into the public record and then back to lenders much more quickly. Some lenders are even stating a preference for working exclusively with settlement agents who e-record."

Simplifile serves more than 40 percent of U.S. recording jurisdictions, including all 20 of the nation's most populous counties. Simplifile's e-recording county network is not only home to some of the nation's most populous metropolitan centers, but also many of the smallest recording jurisdictions in the country. Simplifile's recording network currently represents more than 75 percent of U.S. residents and the vast majority of all recording transactions.

"All that's required for customers to submit documents for e-recording or collaborate through Simplifile is high-speed internet access and a browser," Clifford said. "We've made it easy to e-record, and as a result, we're seeing 3 million documents submitted through Simplifile per quarter." Simplifile transmitted a total of 2,943,167 land record documents in Q2, or an average of nearly 46,000 per business day.

In April, Simplifile was honored with the 2016 Innovations Award from mortgage technology advocacy group PROGRESS in Lending. Clifford accepted the award at the Mortgage Bankers Association National Technology in Mortgage Banking Conference & Expo in Los Angeles. Also in Q2, Simplifile Vice President of Strategic Planning Nancy Alley was named to Mortgage Professional America magazine's "Elite Women in Mortgage." The recognition honors top women professionals who have broken new ground in the mortgage industry.

About Simplifile:

Simplifile, the nation's largest e-recording network, was founded in 2000 to connect settlement agents and county recorders via its e-recording service. Today Simplifile has broadened its services to include collaboration tools and post-closing visibility for mortgage lenders and settlement agents working together on real estate documents. Through Simplifile, users can securely record, share, and track documents, data, and fees with ease.

Top Tier Organizations, Leaders Converge at Second Annual Thayer Leadership Conference Aug. 27-28

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- High performance organizations require leaders who understand the practices and thinking needed to succeed as change agents in their work and lives. Now, committed managers - from CEOs to mid-level aspirants to legacy leaders - can explore ways to successfully achieve intended outcomes at the second annual Thayer Institute Leadership Conference, Saturday, Aug. 27, and Sunday, August 28.

The premier training Institute of choice for serious leaders, the Thayer Institute cultivates sustainable performance virtuosity to benefit world class organizations. The Institute builds on the thought leadership of its president, Lee Thayer, Ph.D., whose impactful contributions to business, economics and organizational management span near five decades and are globally recognized by experts in the field.

"It isn't the leader who makes the organization successful," says Thayer, "but the organization that makes the leader successful."

Thayer explains that today's mainstream popular culture admires leaders via a dominant mythology he humorously calls "the old Lone Ranger syndrome." That is, the leader is the person who saves us from ourselves. Popular culture gets it wrong, he notes.

"The hallmark of an organization which makes it possible for leaders to succeed is that every role in the organization is filled by a person who is fully competent to perform in that role," he says.

However, this level of competence is not typical, he says.

"The leader is there to make it both possible and necessary for the people who work at her place to increase their competence daily, and perform their roles better than yesterday."

This style of leadership carries with it a "moral obligation" to make all they can of the organization and the people within it.

"My view is that life itself is a performing art," he says, referencing the oft-quoted William James truism that as one performs his life, so shall he be. "You have to create change by the way you perform your life."

Three of Thayer's books provide the framework for this year's conference topics: "Leadership: Thinking, Being, Doing;" "The Competent Organization," and "The Good Leader." Each topic will be introduced by a plenary speaker, followed by audience breakout sessions with facilitators who offer proven track records of high quality success.

"Leadership is a practice that becomes part of who you are," says Chris Comeaux, a nationally respected non-profit CEO, Hendersonville, and chief operating officer of the Institute. "As a practice-based leader, I know first-hand that it's possible to change the course of real world events and circumstances, and build sustainable, top-tier organizations."

Those, like Comeaux, who have been mentored by Thayer affirm that his mission centered work instills competence, responsibility, purpose and growth through learning. He equips leaders with the thinking, character, and tools required to fulfill their purpose or cause.

Attendees at the conference will gather the concepts and tools they need in a interactive setting with direct access to world-class mentors with proven experience and a willingness to answer tough questions.

The lessons learned may be implemented both in the work place and at home, says Comeaux.

"If you're dissatisfied at work or home, and have dreamed of doing, being, or creating something better, this conference offers a one-of-a-kind experience," he says.

Conference plenary speakers include:
* Thayer, the Institute's co-founder, a former Harvard professor and mentor to top-tier CEOs for more than 45 years, remains committed to the leadership development required make high performance organizations.
* John McBeth applied Thayer's concepts and tools successfully, first in two businesses of his own making, and as a top global business-to-business executive who continues to deepen his understandings.
* Carole A. Fisher, CEO of Nathan Adelson Hospice, Las Vegas, Nev., rose from the ranks to develop the large, successful agency. Fisher was one of the first to complete the Institute's basic course. Today, she challenges herself by mentoring others as a learning leader.

Session mentors include:
* Chris Comeaux, chief operating officer, co-founder of the Thayer Institute, and CEO, Four Seasons Compassion for Life, Hendersonville. Comeaux commits to take the high art of making high-performance organizations to the world's leaders.
* Kevin Pickhardt, CEO, Pharos International, a high-tech organization based in New York and New Zealand. Pickhardt actively transforms his organization for high-performance using Thayer's powerful concepts.
* Larry Bull, former chief operating officer of Bergstrom, Inc., now heads multiple high performance manufacturing organizations with tools acquired from Thayer's work and mentorship.
* Joelle Moles, vice president of operations and logistics for D'Artagnan, an upscale restaurant provisioning supplier, used her knowledge of Thayer's methods to first create its Chicago division, and later transform the company.

About Lee Thayer:
An influential scholar and top-tier executive leadership coach, Lee Thayer, Ph.D., is a recognized pioneer, global influencer, and innovator in the design and development of high-performance organizations. As president of The Thayer Institute - http://www.thethayerinstitute.org - he keynotes the second annual Thayer Institute Leadership Conference, Asheville, Aug. 27-28, where leaders acquire the thinking tools needed to change their world for the better.

About the Conference:

EaseUS Partition Master 11.5 Is Now Coming for Easy Disk Space Management

CHENGDU, China -- EaseUS Partition Master 11.5 is just released with major updates on conversion between GPT and MBR system disks to take full advantages of each hard drive features. Furthermore, managing virtual disks created from free space in a storage pool, namely storage spaces under Windows system, puts every available capacity into practical use and empowers industry-standard storage management by 11.5 partition manager software.

On the basis of keeping focus on basic hard drive partition functionality, EaseUS partition manager software brings forth more innovative and new ideas to improve efficiency in disk management. In the last 11.0 edition, it's demonstrated that MBR system disk can be smoothly changed into GPT one without any impact on data security. However now, converting GPT system disk into MBR disk is also available for specific demand when some applications and even operating system can only work well on MBR disk.

EaseUS Partition Master has made a long term test on Windows Storage Spaces, an advanced and widely-used technology in Windows and Windows Server to virtualize storage by grouping hard disks into a large pool and then create virtual disks that's storage spaces from the available capacity in that pool. Storage spaces have such attributes as resiliency level, storage tiers, fixed provisioning, and precise administrative control.

Storage spaces are commonly used to protect data from hard drive failure for the reason that there is an intact copy data on virtual drives and extend storage space to settle low disk problem as hard drives are added to the pool. Partition Master smartly shields physical disks away from pool. However, hard disks waiting to be added into the pool and virtual disks are identified to resize storage spaces. It must be noticed that EaseUS partition master alerts users of any potential incorrect operation on storage spaces in real time.

EaseUS partition software manage partitions of different storage devices in all kinds of file systems, such as FAT, NTFS and even Bitlocker or ReSF partitions in this 11.5 version. BitLocker Drive Encryption on an operating system drive is a data protection feature to defend against data loss or security threat for unauthorized access. In the process of repartitioning, file system and relative Bitlocker partition information are all reflected clearly. In addition, it's easy to resize NTFS partitions of unlocked Bitlocker. Besides, the 11.5 partition manager is able to format partitions into ReFS ones, Resilient File System partitions which maintain a high level of data availability and reliability.

EaseUS Partition Master is capable of repartitioning hard drives easily through a stream of operations, like resizing, moving, extending or creating partitions. Except for basic partition features, EaseUS partition manager software is strengthened by additional robust functionality including partition recovery, disk copy or clone, disk conversion or system transfer to SSD/HDD for high PC performance.

EaseUS Partition Master 11.5 is now available at:

New, Unique Service for Senior Citizens is Launched

BOSTON, Mass. -- Helping seniors stay emotionally engaged and interested in the outside world is an important part of healthy aging. Now, a new program called Uplift Senior Citizens is offering social engagement as a service to help improve the social and emotional well-being of senior citizens.

Upliftseniorcitizens.com provides peer-to-peer social encounters that are intellectually stimulating and emotionally rewarding. The program aims at the upper end of the senior market, as there is a fee involved.

The website partners with individual "peers" - all with a variety of life stories and accomplishments. Seniors themselves, families or friends reserve time with an Uplift Seniors peer who has the background, interests or life story that interests them, and then select a social engagement of their choice, such as a lunch, a walk or a visit.

Peer participants include both men and women with diverse backgrounds and education levels. Most importantly, they have a variety of usual and unusual life experiences and interests.

Uplift Senior Citizens founder Henry Quinlan, himself a semi-retired publisher, understands the emotional issues that come with aging, and stresses the need to continually connect with others.

Too many seniors, he says, become reclusive and withdrawn due to a loss of social interaction. This type of isolated lifestyle often brings on a variety of mental health issues and even physical illness.

"Over the years I have developed relationships with all kinds of people, young and old, successful or striving, and recognize that the common thread among people is the need for connection. Seniors who continue to connect with others as they age tend to lead happier and more fulfilling lives," Quinlan says.

Quinlan has come to believe that the perfect, unique gift for a senior citizen isn't a thing - it's an experience. It's a social encounter with an engaging and intellectually stimulating person. Someone who can bring a renewed sense of interest and energy back into their life. We all remember with fondness those occasions - where we simply connect and enjoy someone's company.
