Arizona’s Largest Supplier Diversity Business Accelerator Welcomes Bank of America as New Sponsor

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- The Millionaire Mastermind Academy today announced Bank of America is its newest supporter for IMPACT AZ 2025, a three-year supplier diversity readiness program designed to close the racial wealth gap for black owned businesses. Other sponsors include the City of Scottsdale, APS, SRP and VIA West Group as well as title sponsor JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Bank of America recently provided a grant for IMPACT AZ 2025 as part of the company's commitment to delivering responsible growth to improve the financial lives of individuals, families, and entire communities.

"Closing the racial wealth gap is one of the best things we can do within Arizona's business community and having support from financial services organizations like our newest partner, Bank of America, shows the importance of such programming," said Dr. Velma Trayham, creator of IMPACT AZ 2025 and founder of the Millionaire Mastermind Academy, which manages the program.

IMPACT AZ 2025 is an action-focused program with a physical space at Arizona State University's Skysong 3 in Scottsdale to share resources for promoting stability and growth as well as supplier diversity opportunities for local businesses. "We partner with organizations like Millionaire Mastermind Academy to help us deliver on our commitment to responsible growth," said Scott Vanderpool, president, Bank of America Phoenix. "Together, we can help tackle complex societal challenges, advance racial equity and promote greater economic mobility across Phoenix by boosting entrepreneurs and small business resiliency in communities of color."

Arizona’s Largest Business Accelerator Program Hosted Successful Supplier Diversity Matchmaking Event Powered by JPMorgan Chase

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Fostering new connections and diverse business growth, the Millionaire Mastermind Academy, a leading nonprofit organization that has helped more than 8,000 diverse entrepreneurs across the country, and JPMorgan Chase & Co. hosted a Supplier Diversity Matchmaking event on Aug. 7 in support of IMPACT AZ 2025. With the goal of closing the racial wealth gap for business owners through supplier diversity readiness, IMPACT AZ 2025 launched in April with its first cohort of more than 50 business owners across the valley.

The matchmaking event connected diverse business owners with public and private supplier decision-makers, including the City of Phoenix, the City of Scottsdale, APS, JPMorgan Chase & Co., SRP and Via West Group, with opportunities from the construction and facilities maintenance, finance and insurance, transportation, manufacturing and professional services industries.

Dwight Warren, executive director and market manager of Government and Not-for-Profit Banking at JPMorgan Chase, kicked off the special event. In addition, Dr. Velma Trayham, founder of the Millionaire Mastermind Academy and creator of IMPACT AZ, and Robin Reed, CEO of the Black Chamber of Commerce of Arizona, welcomed attendees and shared perspectives on the importance of greater supplier diversity.

"Arizona's largest supplier diversity readiness accelerator is already making significant progress towards our goal of advancing more than 250 diverse businesses past the $1 million threshold," said Dr. Trayham. "We are incredibly proud to demonstrate needed leadership in supporting and growing diverse business opportunities across the wonderful state of Arizona."

The solutions-driven accelerator program is expanding procurement opportunities with corporations and government entities. Fortune 500 companies spend about 2% annually on minority-owned suppliers, well short of the 10% to 15% spending goals many corporations establish.

"At JPMorgan Chase, we place ongoing emphasis on supplier partnerships and building strong and lasting relationships," Warren added. "Thanks to this commitment over the past 25 years, we are better able to serve our clients, shareholders, employees and communities more efficiently and effectively."

Leading Nonprofit, Millionaire Mastermind Academy, to Host Diversity in Finance Economic Empowerment Fireside Chat, July 17

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- On July 17, the Millionaire Mastermind Academy, a leading nonprofit organization addressing the barriers to opportunity for underrepresented businesses, will host an economic empowerment "Diversity in Finance" Fireside Chat. The virtual event is part of an ongoing program and is sponsored by Blaylock Van, LLC, the nation's longest-continuously operating Black-owned investment firm.

The economic empowerment program is designed for minority female entrepreneurs and senior-level professionals interested in strengthening diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) outreach. Speakers include Eric Standifer, President and CEO of Blaylock Van; Dr. Velma Trayham, CEO and founder of the Millionaire Mastermind Academy and Thinkzilla Consulting; and Trisha Oreta, Senior Vice President, of Blaylock Van. The Diversity in Finance Fireside chat will share innovative best practices, resources, and opportunities for minorities to succeed in the financial services industry.

"Blaylock Van is committed to empowering, educating, and providing opportunities for minority female business owners and professionals, and diversity, equity, and inclusion will always be a core component of our work. Partnering with leading organizations such as the Millionaire Mastermind Academy helps our firm reach more underserved populations and provide critical resources," Standifer said.

In the financial services industries, progress on gender diversity and other DE&I initiatives has been slow, but more organizations are recognizing the value of working with diverse suppliers, building a diverse workforce, and taking steps to improve.

"Diversity is not only good for business, but also the right thing to do, and to achieve true diversity in the financial services industry requires collective action. This is why we serve thousands of underserved and excluded populations annually with resources, tools and technical assistance programs to move forward and create more meaningful opportunities," added Dr. Trayham. "We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Blaylock Van, which offers economic impact for diverse women and for the industry as a whole."

Since its inception in 2017, the Millionaire Mastermind Academy has served more than 8,000 individuals and has led successful programs directing more than $100 million in economic activity into underserved communities. Awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships and issued more than $50,000 in seed funding. Thanks to title sponsors including JPMorgan Chase & Co., Truist Bank, American Landmark Apartments, Country Financial, and Blaylock Van, among others.

In addition, Millionaire Mastermind Academy provides engagement models for corporations and government entities interested in strengthening DEI or ESG goals by engaging underserved populations.

IMPACT AZ 2025 Announces JPMorgan Chase as Title Sponsor and Program Details for Supplier Diversity Readiness Initiative

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Millionaire Mastermind Academy announced today that IMPACT AZ 2025, a nine-month supplier diversity readiness program designed to close the racial wealth gap for black and minority business owners, is proud to announce JPMorgan Chase as its title sponsor. Since 2015, JPMorgan Chase has spent $11 billion with diverse suppliers. In 2020 alone, the diverse supplier spend was over $2 billion. JPMorgan Chase Global Supplier Diversity's mission is to develop and engage with certified and qualified diverse businesses to promote economic growth in communities.

IMPACT AZ 2025 is an action-focused program that includes a physical space to assist business owners with resources to promote stability and growth and business development for supplier diversity opportunities. It features procurement access, mentorship and networking opportunities, training in accounting and finance, access to public and private partnerships, and more. According to a recent report, supplier diversity programs could add $280 billion in income and four million new jobs to the U.S. economy.

"JPMorgan Chase is profoundly committed to supporting programs that help close the racial wealth gap and uplifting our Black business and entrepreneurial community is key to achieving that goal," said Ashley Kelly, Senior Business Consultant for Chase in Arizona. "This program will deliver expertise and support to help participants scale and grow their businesses in a sustainable manner. I'm very excited about supporting this collaboration."

IMPACT 2025, a direct response to the 2022 State of Black Business report released by the State of Black Arizona, is accepting corporate support to ensure the program is no-cost for cohort participants. The report shared that more than half of Black business owners in Arizona face a lack of access to capital driven by low levels of personal wealth, creditworthiness disparities and low loan request rates.

"I was born into poverty and had to bootstrap my business and learn how to grow and succeed. A decade later, I have built a national brand and am privileged to share everything I learned to help others do the same," said Dr. Velma Trayham, founder of the Millionaire Mastermind Academy. "I credit hard work, faith, and having access to procurement opportunities for my ability to rise above poverty. I am thrilled and honored to support the Arizona business community and have supporters like JPMorgan Chase who understand the deep need for such work."

IMPACT AZ 2025 is accepting applications from small business owners interested in a solutions-driven program that will help them grow business with corporations, expand customer discovery and enhance financial management and business development.
