Breaking Hits App Turns Up the Volume on Amplified Authentic Opinions in the Music Business

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Breaking Hits, an organized aggregator of an authentic opinion App, is ramping up to launch its pilot program. The first will focus on the Super Bowl and the second on Valentine's Day. Both will ask, "Retire or fire?" and ask music and non-music related questions. It's a new voice that music industry pros will want to hear.

On February 4, 2021, "Retire or On Fire Super Bowl Day Review," will ask a series of questions focused on which players people think should retire or who are on fire for the next season. The second one to launch on February 11, seeks people's authentic opinions about which love song artists and love songs should be retired as well as those on fire.

The Breaking Hits App looks to differentiate opinion from fact. Its goal is to ditch the hype and get the real opinions of listeners for others as well as the music industry at large. Through their voice, people can engage directly with the music and entertainment world. This app ensures that all opinions are accounted for and amplified.

"You are more than a number, a like or a vote. You are a voice. You are part of an authentic collective that is heard, honored and amplified to artists, their representation, managers, investors and record label," Neil Collins, Breaking Hits, CEO and founder says. "We're compiling authentic opinions from real music listeners, vetted influencers and verified music industry pros and then bringing that authentic intel and data to the artists and labels."

Loren Weisman, brand messaging strategist and author of "Music Business for Dummies," and "The Artists Guide to Success in the Music Business," says, "We've seen a great deal of money and time wasted in creating connections to consumers. The tone across social media has left many users feeling confused, annoyed, unheard and under-appreciated. Some people have been able to purchase votes, likes, views, listens and comments, while voting as much as they like and this may be harming more than helping. This app has the authority that I believe artists, labels and investors are hungry for."

Breaking Hits is available on iOS and Android and allows people to discover the latest music, videos, breaking artists and fresh sounds shared exclusively by the talent, management, labels, radio stations and sponsors that are hungry for the authority intelligence to make those next-step promotional decisions.

On April 3, Breaking Hits is also launching 4,3,21 Ignition and Launch: All Opinions Go Debut. It's inviting interested artists to be part of it and to get in touch by filling out a form at: https://breakinghits.com/all-opinions-go/ to be considered as a featured artist or brand for this next phase.

Vistamar School Begins Construction on New Viking Commons

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened many issues of inequity across our region. Vistamar School, an independent college preparatory day school serving grades 9-12, announced construction started this week on the Viking Commons, a new commercial kitchen and gathering space for the school.

The commercial kitchen will provide a nutritious lunch daily for the entire school community, and the innovative communal space will expand ways for Vistamar's students, faculty, and staff to connect. Construction is planned to be completed by August, 2021 for the start of the new school year.

"Our school is built on community and equity. The Viking Commons will provide an important way for everyone in our school community to come together daily over a great equalizer, food," stated Chris Bright, Vistamar Head of School. "We're removing the stress of having to figure out what to do about lunch each day for everyone in the school and instead, providing an array of healthful food options at no added daily charge in a beautiful space to meet."

Design of the Viking Commons has been a collaborative process. Originally envisioned by school leadership working together with the Board of Trustees, the year-long design and fundraising process has incorporated the work of trustees, staff, parents, and the architect, OKB Architecture. The interdisciplinary project team worked diligently using an efficient, cost effective approach to maximize the positive impacts of the project while minimizing funding needed. Care was taken to echo the innovative, open space design of the school.

"As a school committed to best practices in education, our campus design deliberately accommodates and supports the dynamic needs of the community," said Kris Rone, Chair of Vistamar's Board of Trustees and parent of students, classes of '18 and '21. "The Viking Commons will be one of our most dramatic building upgrades since the School was founded."

Vistamar's community is supporting the project enthusiastically and looking forward to the opening when we return to school in August. "The Viking Commons is a natural enhancement to our school, transforming an office area and small commons area into an open-plan, state of the art kitchen and servery and a dynamic and inviting space to gather," noted Chris Bright, "and we're proud to add this powerful enhancement of our school culture and wellness focus."

About Vistamar School

Vistamar, founded in 2005, is an independent college preparatory day school serving grades 9-12. The founders' vision was to tap into the diversity of Los Angeles to bring together students who could learn from each other the skills and attitudes necessary for global citizenship. The Vistamar mission rests on three pillars: challenging academics that engage and inspire students; an intimate atmosphere that supports students with caring relationships; and a diverse community that encourages the authentic exchange of perspectives and leads students to be comfortable crossing cultural boundaries. Vistamar believes there's a better way to do high school.

8th Annual Cursive is Cool Contest Adds Additional Prizes for Pandemic-Friendly Participation in Both the US and Canada

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Cursive is Cool® contest will be held as usual this year after encouragement from teachers, parents and students, announced the American Handwriting Analysis Foundation today, despite some schools in the USA and Canada operating remotely, or using a hybrid model with in-person learning.

Modifications this year allow more students to participate who might not have teacher support as in the past.

Students are encouraged to enter early. Random drawings of entries received throughout the contest will be eligible for prizes. Winners of random drawings are eligible for the Grand Prize. Those winners' handwriting will be reviewed for legibility and neatness. One Grand Prize per grade 1 through 6 will be awarded.

"Every year our judges look forward to reading entries because kids' points of view are not only entertaining but also often enlightening," remarked Lauren Mooney Bear, Campaign for Cursive Chair.

The annual cursive contest has many supporters. In Canada they include Laywine's and Zebra Pen (Canada). A new supporter this year is Blind Pig Press. For the USA contest, supporters continue to grow, with Amsterdam Printing, Cursive Logic, Dixon Ticonderoga, Fahrney's Pens, Itoya, Louise Borden Author, Monkey Magnets, New American Cursive, PEN World, Sakura and Writing Academy. New this year are Caran D'ache and Colombia City Ninja School.

According to Sheila Lowe, President of the American Handwriting Analysis Foundation, "The good news from an informal survey indicates that more than half the states require at least some cursive writing training in public schools. Legislation is spending in six more. Only ten states have zero requirement to teach their students to write."

USA and French Canadian contest dates are January 23 through April 30, 2021.

English Canadian contest runs from January 23 through March 12, 2021.

Olea Kiosks, Inc. Announces Manufacturing Expansion, Engineering Growth

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Olea Kiosks®, Inc., a visionary provider of self-service kiosk solutions, today announced expansion of its manufacturing and engineering capacity in Los Angeles, Calif. This expansion enables Olea to continue to grow its customer base, partnerships, and OEM relationships to provide faster time to market and greater operational agility.

Going from 48,000 square feet to more than 80,000 square feet, this investment allows Olea to grow its manufacturing volume in its current site and move test and assembly to the new facility next door. The company has also brought on additional engineering design resources and further invested in its data-driven approach to scale and automate internal processes.

Following the completion of site improvements in Q1, this expansion will also provide more floor space to stock additional items giving the company greater capacity to shorten turn-around times on its most popular kiosks.

"This is an exciting new chapter for Olea Kiosks and a considerable progression in our strategic journey," said Frank Olea, Chief Executive Officer. "As a domestic supplier, we've prevailed in an extremely challenging competitive environment. With our universal models, custom designs, and OEM business, we want to further scale for production, field deployment, and support to provide increased value to our strategic partners and produce superior solutions for our customers while serving as a preferred supplier and employer for decades to come. This also gives us some additional space for more exciting changes later this year... more on that to come," added Olea.

Many kiosk suppliers manufacture overseas, and while that can appear to deliver cost savings, it's often in exchange for time-to-market, lack of control, inconvenience, and quality. With the addition of four new products over the last 18 months and just as many in 2021, Olea Kiosks® will further expand its rich and diverse self-service kiosk solution portfolio.

About Olea Kiosks®, Inc.

Olea Kiosks Inc., is a self-service kiosk solution provider for the attractions and entertainment, healthcare and hospitality industries. Its technologically advanced, in-house manufacturing, design, and innovation have made it an industry leader. Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, customers include The Habit Burger Grill, Kaiser Permanente, Empire State Building, Universal Studios, EVO Entertainment, Scientific Games, and Subway.

Childhood Trauma – The Dark Secret 64% of Us Share: Compassion Prison Project with Dr. Vincent Felitti

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Two years ago this month, film producer Fritzi Horstman, and Compassion Prison Project founder, walked into a California maximum-security prison and sat down with the men who were serving time, hoping to bring them compassion and trauma-awareness. One of the first things she said was, "I was traumatized when I was a child - my mother emotionally and physically abused me. I was neglected and my father was an alcoholic."

Ultimately, she was entrusted with the many stories these men shared, stories of unimaginable childhood abuse and neglect. Statistically the men and women living, and working, within our prison system are amongst the most traumatized members of our society. Prisons, often places of dehumanization, solitude and hopelessness, traumatize them even more.

Two years later, Compassion Prison Project, founded by Horstman, is marking its anniversary by announcing the launch of its unprecedented new podcast, "Compassion in Action."

Compassion in Action gives listeners the unique opportunity to join Horstman and trauma experts as they shed light on ACEs: Adverse Childhood Experiences. ACEs can include childhood physical violence, sexual abuse, emotional neglect, poverty or having a family member in prison. Compassion in Action examines ACEs as they pertain to society as a whole. Topics include the impact of childhood trauma on our overall health, the root cause of addiction and the significant burden of shame. Perhaps most importantly, Compassion in Action guests share insight into healing modalities which promote self-awareness and a willingness to address our collective trauma.

Building on the momentum of the new podcast launch, special guest Dr. Vincent Felitti, MD, co-creator of the original ACE Kaiser Permanente CDC study, joins Fritzi in a new Compassion in Action episode. Dr. Felitti details the crucial importance of the ACEs study, its ramifications for the public and the vital importance of supporting healthy parenting. A graduate of John Hopkins Medical School and Founder of the Department of Preventive Medicine at Kaiser Permanente San Diego, Dr. Felitti's understanding of childhood trauma was gained over years spent analyzing data from thousands of patients.

Horstman commented, upon reaching the organization's two-year anniversary "I am thrilled to share this interview with Dr. Vincent Felitti who is the Co-Author of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Quiz - the most important health survey which has changed the lives of so many."

She adds, "Our work at Compassion Prison Project has just begun. We are on track to create trauma-informed prisons throughout the United States and spread our Trauma-Awareness Campaign to all men and women living in their own prisons - inside and outside."

New Carbon Dioxide Monitors Combat Virus Indoors and Meet California Compliance Monitoring Requirements

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- As more and more businesses, schools and other public indoor spaces prepare to open up, they're working to not only be effective, but compliant too. Forensics Detectors works to solve both challenges with the recent launch of its first carbon dioxide (CO2) monitors for COVID-19 preparedness planning. These monitors are specifically designed for indoor spaces such as classrooms, gyms and offices. They're also compliant with the California Assembly Bill AB 841 CO2 monitoring requirements which mandates CO2 indoor air quality monitoring to reduce COVID-19 transmission and infection risk.

The bill requires classrooms to monitor CO2 and provide an alert when the carbon dioxide levels in the classroom have exceeded 1,100 ppm. Forensics Detectors has two new carbon dioxide monitors that fit the bill - two versions of Model C02000 - a USB charger version and a direct plug-in version.

"Carbon Dioxide monitoring is becoming an imperative part of COVID-19 preparedness planning," Dr. Koz, founder and chief engineer, Forensics Detectors, says. "CO2 is exhaled with aerosols containing pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2 from COVID-19 infected people and can be used as a proxy of virus concentrations in the indoor air as shown by the University of Colorado and Harvard School of Public Health."

The CO2000 USB charger version uses a generic USB cable for power and battery recharge. This version is great for mobile battery operation. The CO2000 wall plug-in version plugs directly into a wall power outlet and operates from 110V, so users can simply plug it in and forget about it. If the indoor level of CO2 exceeds 1100 ppm, an LED alarm will sound.

For more information about the Forensics Detectors carbon dioxide (CO2) monitors, visit: https://www.forensicsdetectors.com/products/basic-co2-meter and https://www.forensicsdetectors.com/collections/carbon-dioxide/products/carbon-dioxide-monitor-plug

About Forensics Detectors

Since he was 10-years old, founder and chief engineer of Forensics Detectors, Dr. Koz, had an interest in electronic systems. He studied electronic engineering in college and was invited to become a technical member of the graduate Sensor Technology Laboratory at RMIT University. During his tenure, he designed and developed smoke analyzers, infra-red gas and toxic gas sensors and interlock systems. He continued to invent many sensors and systems during his Ph.D. studies until his next breakthrough - the world's first vehicle carbon monoxide sensor system to prevent driver fatigue and suicides.

During his doctoral studies, he traveled around the world three times presenting his inventions and ideas at international conferences and to private industry. He received scholarships and awards for his work developing alcohol breathalyzers, combustion analyzers and ozone sensors.

He met his wife on a conference trip to Greece and the couple soon settled in Los Angeles where he accepted a position as an engineering professor at UCLA. While there, he developed and commercialized nanotechnology for sensing, communications and computing working closely with the U.S. semiconductor and defense industries.

Dr. Koz became a sought-after expert consultant for legal cases involving toxic gas detection and learned that there was an open niche for products that could prevent toxic gas exposure injuries. As a result, in 2017, he established Forensics Detectors to offer consumers affordable and innovative gas detectors, meters and analyzers.

Today, the company designs, develops, manufactures and sources products that meet strict technical requirements.

Tapcheck Helps Employers Unlock New Financial Options for Employees with Easy-to-Integrate Earned Wage Access Application

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Tapcheck, a simple and easy-to-integrate financial wellness benefit that allows employers to give employees the ability to access their earned wages before payday, has experienced strong growth since first launching. In 2020 alone, Tapcheck saw 863% growth, with exponential adoption in the in-home care and quick-service restaurant (QSR) industries. Forward-thinking employers in sectors hard-hit by the pandemic have helped their workers pay bills, cover unexpected costs, and more at a time when financial uncertainty is at an all-time high.

"The financial impact of the pandemic has left both employers and employees facing significant and unforeseen financial challenges. Employees need more flexible access to their money, while employers want to provide easy-to-adopt financial wellness benefits without a high price tag," said Kayling Gaver, Co-Founder of Tapcheck. "Tapcheck delivers on both fronts without gimmicks, high fees, or hidden charges, and we've seen incredible growth as a result."

Tapcheck gives employers a convenient and cost-free way to offer their workers same-day pay. It is easy to integrate into existing payroll systems so employers can adopt it without having to create new systems. The application itself boasts a clean and simple interface, allowing employees to quickly and securely access a percentage of the wages they've earned for the pay period for one, flat charge similar to an ATM fee. This gives employees financial flexibility to cover a bill that is due in the middle of a pay cycle, or another emergency expense right away without having to take on more credit card debt, overdraft fees or late fees, or high-interest personal loans.

Since first launching in July 2019, Tapcheck has established a clear foothold in the earned wage access category, signing major players including Burger King, Dunkin', Little Caesars, Home Instead Senior Care, and Comfort Keepers, ultimately giving employees the potential for on-demand access to their wages via its easy-to-use app. In addition to its adoption across the in-home care and QSR industries, Tapcheck has also signed on employers across a diverse range of businesses including Metro by T-Mobile and Comfort Inn, as well as hospitals, manufacturers, grocers, retailers, and professional services.

"In a competitive marketplace, Tapcheck is a resource that helps to differentiate us to be the Employer of Choice," said Roy Wu, Home Instead Senior Care franchise owner. "Tapcheck is allowing us to hire and retain Caregivers by providing them access to funds, especially during this COVID pandemic."

Recent attention around and interest in the earned wage access category overall demonstrates the increasing desire for employers to deliver financial wellness benefits to their workforces, but it also underscores a mindset shift that employees want the ability to easily and safely access their earned wages when they need them most without penalty. "isolved has been remarkably responsive to the growing number of Chief Human Resource Officers, Chief People Officers and other C-suite executives focused on finding new ways of enhancing the employee experience, building out an innovative HCM solution that connects with the changing dynamics and demographics of today's workforces," said Ron Gaver, Co-Founder and Vice President of Business Development for Tapcheck. "We're excited to become an integral and innovative option for employers and a flexible, easy-to-use, low-cost option for employees who might need to cover a bill that is due in the middle of a pay cycle, or another emergency expense right away without having to take on more credit card debt, overdraft fees or late fees, or high-interest personal loans."

Recent attention around and interest in the earned wage access category overall demonstrates the increasing desire for employers to deliver financial wellness benefits to their workforces. It also underscores a mindset shift that employees want the ability to easily and safely access their earned wages when they need them most without penalty.

"Whether it's same-day pay, scheduling or self-service, employees demand flexibility and for HR systems to work like their favorite social app or shopping site," said Kelli Rico, VP of Product Management and Training at isolved. "With the Tapcheck integration for isolved, employees get paid without delay and employers get to not only meet employees' changing expectations for real-time and digital options but also settle payroll quickly - particularly in a tough economic environment."
