This short-term target is part of a broader strategy to crowdfund 10,000 plus scholarships across a wide range of in-demand career paths, such as digital marketing over the next three years.

Certified Tax Resolution Specialist, James Cha from Ace Plus Tax Resolution, Advises Non-Filers to File Their Back Tax Returns Now

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- James Cha, a Certified Tax Resolution Specialist from Ace Plus Tax Resolution, urges taxpayers to file their tax returns as soon as possible, even if they missed the tax deadline or can't pay off, as they're only increasing their tax bill by delaying.

The IRS has started again to send the collection notices to taxpayers from late October. These notices were paused due to COVID-19. Now, the IRS's mail backlog is caught up enough to enforce non-payments, and they will start levy, lien, and other threatening collection activities.

The IRS has slowed down in many aspects due to COVID-19, but they never stopped investigating people who haven't filed tax returns. Pursuing non-filers can be one of the IRS's most efficient enforcement strategies because issuing non-filer notices can be a cost-effective tool that requires little more than automated notices.

There is an ever-increased chance that the IRS will start ramping up their collection activities right after the presidential election is over.

Consequences of Non-Filing

Why are there so many non-filers? Quite many people misunderstand and think, "If I don't file, then the IRS won't know. Then the IRS cannot pursue, lien, or levy me." Or, "I didn't get any notices the following year. I must've gotten away."

"However, this isn't true," says Ace Plus Tax Resolution's Certified Tax Resolution Specialist(R), James Cha. "Taxpayers are only increasing their tax bills by not filing and waiting. The IRS will investigate and catch up with non-compliant cases in the following years. Once the IRS system discovers those cases, it will send out warning letters and threaten non-filers. Failure to file a tax return may be construed as a criminal act by the IRS and can be punishable by up to one year in jail for each year not filed. If left unresolved, the non-filers find themselves in a tough spot when the IRS freezes their bank accounts, garnishes their wages, seizes or sells their assets, suspends their passports, takes their retirement funds, takes their home, and so much more."

Why Should Non-Filers File Tax Returns As Soon As Possible?

If a taxpayer hasn't filed tax returns in the past several years, it is strongly recommended that they file their returns as soon as possible, even if they can't pay them off at the moment.

If taxpayers fail to file or pay the returns, the IRS will keep adding penalties at an extremely high rate and also charge them interest. The IRS charges 5% of the amount due every month for failure to file, and 0.5% for failure to pay for a maximum of 25% each. Because of 0.5% reduction in penalty for any month, the maximum penalty amount combined is 47.5% of the taxes owed.

Compliance is Required before Resolution

Ace Plus Tax Resolution can bring you back to compliance by filing back tax returns, which will stop the failure-to-file penalty. What's important is that the taxpayer needs to be "current" with any filing obligations to be eligible for any back tax liability settlement with the IRS.

Another method is to see if they qualify for a Currently Not Collectible status upon submitting a financial statement. If the taxpayers have no means to pay the debt at the moment or anytime soon, they can request the IRS to delay the collection process until their financial situation improves. Note that this doesn't mean the back tax liability will disappear - the IRS can come back and collect your taxes years later. Other solutions include lien relief, release of wage or bank levies, penalty abatement, Bankruptcy Dischargeability Analysis, etc., depending on the non-filer's situation.

James adds on and says, "the IRS is making deals right now for back tax liability due to COVID-19. So, now is the best time to negotiate with the IRS."

Bottom Line

Without these alternative solutions, the amount the taxpayer owes to the IRS can become so massive that they cannot pay off the amount. It's like this huge snowball rolling downhill, getting bigger and bigger with growing penalties and interest. In fact, millions of taxpayers in America are delinquent in filing tax returns and are struggling to pay the IRS.

Families can gather for Happy Halloween L.A., the largest, most immersive, drive-through event in Southern California. The event follows all COVID-19 rules and regulations as dictated by the "Los Angeles County Department of Public Health's Guidance for Celebrating Halloween." Along with the generous sponsorship of Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers and Vans Shoes, among others, it is the first joint venture of Life Changing Charities, a 502(c)(3) non-profit organization, and PartyWorks Interactive, a Southern California events company. The event is a great example of how industries are re-inventing themselves to address the limitations imposed by Covid-19.

Set in Pico Rivera Bicentennial Park, this one mile, no-contact event is an approximately 30-minute drive-through experience featuring four fun zones, a photo op, goodie bags, a virtual costume contest, and more. Attendees can listen to a narrative track on their FM radios as they slowly cruise through the event. Emphasis is on safe, family fun - nothing too frightening. Costumes are optional, but encouraged.

The Happy Halloween LA adventure consists of the following zones:

Zone A, Jurassic Adventure, is a trek through a primeval world and features life-size dinosaurs from 20 to 40 feet high. No worries, though, they're inflatables.

Zone B, Dia de Los Muertos, celebrates Mexico's famous "Day of the Dead" with larger-than-life props and mariachi music. This zone is certified muy bien.

Zone C, Crazy Kids Carnival, presents mind-bending magical illusions in a festive atmosphere. The illusions were designed by members of Hollywood's famed Magic Castle.

New Rap Writer/Producer and Eminem Stan James Guiltinan Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Create Music Video Salute to Eminem

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Will the real Stan please stand up? Before James "Slim Jimmy" Guiltinan knew that Eminem's "Stan" had become a dictionary word defined as a sort of super, but sometimes obsessed fan, he'd written one of his first two rap songs, as an Eminem "salute." The slang definition of "stan" likely originated from Eminem's song and music video "Stan."

At first, James referred to his song, "This Time and Then" as a "tribute song" to Eminem, but later learned that the term was reserved for the deceased. So he coined a new phrase "salute song." James now suggests that he could be the real Eminem "Stan," but not of the obsessed or crazed kind of stan, an example of which might be the recent intruder into Eminem's home. The Detroit rap artist's music helped to get James through a dark period in his life.

Having only played trumpet in high school during the seventies, and new to rap writing and producing, James had assistance from Los Angeles rapper Solid Savage who recorded and co-wrote "This Time and Then." James originally didn't want to charge for the song, as he felt it would cheapen the "salute." His distribution service required a minimum price for streaming distribution, but James has made "This Time and Then" available at no charge on SoundCloud. James' Kickstarter campaign serves to create a complementary product (the accompanying music video) to further the Eminem salute.

Ironically, Slim Shady's "Stan" song and music video features a Stan character who ends up accidentally or purposely killing himself in a car accident. While James admits to being suicidal during his struggles, and perhaps saved by in part at least, rather than troubled by an absence of writing back, Eminem's music.

"Eminem's music gave me encouragement, because it talks about struggles that Slim Shady experienced during his life, which I identified with," James says.

After losing his job two years ago and living out of his van, which was after losing his family's house and getting divorced, James took up songwriting to finally try his hand at the creative arts. At first, his lyrics were essentially poems. After ordering two songwriting books, James got a little better at the craft. He also remixed the background music he selected for "This Time and Then" after taking a class in Logic.

During his two years of being homeless, James has written and produced seven hip hop and one R&B tracks. Most of the work on his songs, including the cover artwork, writing, and background ("beat") music selection was done using a cell phone, after his MacBook was stolen.

"Wrigley Field," a sequel to "This Time and Then," is a playful rap song, where James comes to Slim's "rescue" by providing a warning to - in good fun only - similar to a diss track - Machine Gun Kelly, regarding MGK's Eminem diss (disrespect) song. James views "salute" songs as being the opposite of "diss" songs, and he hopes they become popularized.

"Similar to the Stan in the Eminem song and music video, I DM'd Slim on Instagram, but didn't hear back," James says. "However, he may have given me a lyrics wink in one of his songs as 'Gilligan.' Of course, I can't know for sure. It's just close to my last name, and I also used 'Gilligan' in my "Wrigley Field" lyrics."

"This Time and Then" and "Wrigley Field" are available on streaming platforms under the artist name "James Bernard Guiltinan."
